My parents used to regularly check out (maybe rent?) the film from the library when I was little. It was always a huge deal. Dad setting up the movie projector on the piano bench, the collapsible movie screen deciding whether or not it needed to be propped up, Mom making popcorn on the stove and warning us not to wipe our buttery fingers on the carpet, the clicking of the projector when it finally started reeling in the tape.....
I confess to buying Riki Tiki (and also The Last Unicorn) off Amazon the instant adult me realized that was an option. I now have both hard and digital copies of both.
Dude, you need spoiler tag that shit in the future. Some of us have gotten far enough to know what you're talking about without actually having finished it.
God, this makes me want to start a wildlife charity that raises money just to build a tiny trampolines deep in the forest for all the weasel-type creatures and whatever else wants to jump.
This is a long-tailed weasel (Neogale frenata), also known as a "Big stoat." Stoats are basically the bigger species of weasels. When folks say weasel, they're generally referring to the Least weasel (Mustela nivalis), which is much smaller. Both are found in North America.
This particular one is in the UK. An artists and conservationist caled Robert Fuller films the wildlife in his garden and this clip has been culled from one of his videos.
This is the first time I've seen a weasel war dance on a trampoline! It 's so much better this way. (I know it's a stoat, but stoats and ferrets do the weasel war dance too)
Are stoats cool? My pottermore patronus was a stoat. I tried again, got a stoat again. No badass tiger or majestic elk, just a weasel thing id never heard of. If the energy and enthusiasm in the video is typical though, thats definitely not why im a stoat.
Id you type stoat into the youtube search bar a lot of the next word is "kills..." monkey, rabbit, 4 baby woodpeckers. Thats also not me.
Dont get me wrong, id much rather have a magical ghost weasel than nothing at all, i just have trouble figuring out how they relate to me. Unless you're going to tell the Pottermore Patronus test is bullshit, that cant possibly be the answer
I wonder if it's a regional pronunciation thing. Because in this video about baby stoats the guy seems to pronounce it to rhyme with "oat" rather than "out." Worth watching for the cuteness, regardless of the pronunciation. But there are no stoats where I live. I had never seen a stoat until I saw the linked video. So I have limited information to go on. :)

Interesting! I always thought that was the pronunciation too until I watched a nature video where they pronounced it as 'stout'. Maybe it *is a regional thing? Maybe both are correct?
Haha I love how it gains confidence and gets better, right up to the point it launches itself off at the end.
