The coordinates would indeed be received before the cannon fire. The data would be sent back in time to the Ash Twin Project as one of the Nomai masks is linked to the probe. It's the reason the time loop is occuring in the first place (in fact, technically there is no loop, it's more like you receive memories from alternate futures).

You get the first foreshadowing of this when the Nomai realize that stuff sent through a black hole actually ejects out the white hole a fraction of a second before it was sent through. The research they performed in Brittle Hollow was used in order to develop warp technology to expand the delay, which they managed to do up to 22 minutes.

This is also why it's important for the Ash Twin Project to be sealed inside a Sun-resistant shell, since the project requires the Sun going supernova in order to activate, they obviously can't have it be destroyed before the probe reaches the Eye and sends the data back (which would happen very quickly due to the Ash Twins' proximity to the Sun).

The module ending up in Giant's Deep is not intentional. In fact it's not all that relevant and logically, considering the cannon fires in a random direction every loop, there isn't even a reason for it ending up in Giant's Deep's core each time, that was done purely for gameplay purposes as randomizing its position each time would have been an unnecessary annoyance for both the player and the devs (anda rguably would have made it impossible to reach in most loops as it likely would have just drifted out of the solar system).
