I feel like a lot of people smoke and are able to get a ton done. Most of the time if I’m smoking it’s usually just to eat dinner and go to bed. I listen to music or throw on a show but it just feels like I’m waisting my high doing nothing.
Add magic mushies to your walks for an extra sparkle
Shrooms and hiking/walking in the mountains is arguably the peak human experience, nothing I’ve experienced in life even comes close to how incredible I felt
Jeez what a sell.
Can I ask you to add some context to your experience? And by that I mean; are you a person who would normally frequent the woods/forests/mountains (is being out there a hobby of yours)? Or are you primarily a city dweller?
No judgement either way :)
Sure! I wasn’t really that type of person until very recently. I spent most of my life sitting inside largely because of depression and anxiety but I always loved being in nature when I did get out. I’ve done a lot of self reflection and generally just working on improving myself the last year or so, I read a lot about psilocybin’s potential benefits for treating depression and figured I’d give it a shot. Ive wanted to try it for a while now but I knew I wasn’t “ready” for it. I felt like I was in a good place to try it out, got some from a friend and spent my first trip in my backyard staring at the sky all night, I learned a lot about myself and changed my view on the world that night. Something just clicked during that trip and it’s like I could see the beauty in the world for the first time and it’s lingered with me since. After that I did the hike trip on a much bigger dose and the experience was unexplainable, the colors on the mountains and sky were super vibrant, the size of the trees and mountain peaks absolutely blew my mind. I felt like I was connected with the world in a way I’ve never been before. The sense of everything being connected was strong. I can go into more detail if you’d like but this is kinda long.
If you’re going to experiment with shrooms be safe about it and make sure you’re in a good place mentally to do it. It can be the most amazing experience or it can get super scary, either way you’ll learn things you needed to learn. I’ve had a couple of bad trips and I don’t regret them in the slightest.
Dude, thank you so much for this.
Been a long-time weed smoker myself, and a very avid mountain/forest sports person. Not unusual for me to be high and mountain biking or (in my glory days) snowboarding, and of course tons of hiking.
I’ve been going through what I guess most people call their mid-life, existential crisis in the last year or so, and dealing with pressures of work, marriage, parenting cost of living, etc etc and there are so few pleasures left. Anything that helps me keep a positive outlook and perspective is a welcome thing in my life, at this point.
I’m super curious about shrooms, DMT and ayahuasca, and will definitely have a trip sitter with me should I go that route.
Thanks for the perspective!
Just wanted to say I can very much relate about all of the mid-life pressures you speak of.
Same. I'm going away this weekend with some childhood friends to take mushrooms and hang out in a cabin for two days. We do it once a year and it's a great weekend! We all deserve that. Make the time if you can cause when 40 hits it seems these times get lost and You're just focused on the grind.
I have mushrooms at my house but can’t take them now bc I 100% know I’ll have a bad trip and tbh it wouldn’t take much to push me over the edge right now, so on my shelf they sit - taunting me.
That’s awesome! I think you’d probably find a lot of value in it given your situation, even just small trips can “re-ignite” that special love for life. There’s a lot of amazing information online about using shrooms in a therapeutic way, Andrew Huberman has a few podcasts I recommend that really dive into psilocybin and psychedelics, Dr. Robin Carhart, Dr. Nolan Williams and Dr. Mathew Johnson.
I’m still fairly new to psychedelics but if you have any questions feel free to reach out!
Mushrooms are starting to receive the recognition as a depression and anxiety medication they deserve. After a single use symptoms of long term depression were improved. Here is a medical review https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10135952/ can’t recommend it strongly enough to improve your life and outlook. It’s one of the true pleasures of being adult for me.
You might be interested in the stand up stylings of Neil Brennan, you sound like one another’s spirit animals from this excerpt. Glad you’re making it through that too and also that you’re sharing what worked as it seems to be more than an isolated incident
I get goosebumps just from reading this! :) i had a similar first experience where my world view changed over night and has since made my life so much better and more enjoyable. wish every human could have an experience like that
I’m glad you relate and had a good experience as well! It’s such an amazing thing and I truly wish more people understood how beneficial it can be. My anxiety and depression is the lowest it’s been since, well, as far back as I can remember and I can’t even talk about it with my friends/family due to their views on it. I don’t blame them though, it’s hard to see the good when all you’re shown is the bad.
Really well said. Mushrooms are such a great teacher.
Not the person you asked, but I'll share my few experiences with shrooms
Nature going is common here, but my friends and I don't do it terribly often, however we do try to go camping to nearby hills&rivers in the summer, what's better than a relaxing trip to a cool stream of water in the blazing summer heat, with a drink in hand ready to bbq some food while watching the marvelous stars?
Anyway, we tried shrooms for the first time in a park in amsterdam, a group of ~10 friends that managed to get together for a fun weekend, it was mindblowing experience and we had a fantastic time
After that we incorporated shrooms to our camping trips, only once a year, enough to appreciate it without it becoming routine, and it's been a blast, connecting with nature and friends in that way feels different to anything else.
Last time, we convinced a friend of ours to join us who initially did not want to go camping, I don't recall the specific reasons but it was too dirty, unpredictable, and or uncomfortable for her. Sadly it rained all day and we stayed in our tent just playing cards and chatting, we were ~8 people.
When the rain stopped before sunset we went out to the woods nearby and ate the shrooms, as soon as they started having an effect the rain came down pouring on us so we went under a tree, but this friend was so happy, so connected to the world and nature that she just went on the open field arms stretched out to the sides enjoying the rain, clouds, sunset, grass, everything, she was ecstatic, a sight to behold and a very happy moment.
Shrooms are awesome, nature is awesome, friends are awesome
Edit: I can not speak to the things you are going through right now as much as I empathize with some of them, but I can say that any drug should be taking in the right state of mind. I do recommend them in the end even if I've not had life-changing experiences like many others
Beautiful comment, thank you
Skinny dipping in a secluded lake after a hike in the woods while tripping.
Swimming feels sooo amazing while tripping its seriously like the best feeling ever lol
That sounds amazing I haven’t been in the water outside of showering while tripping, definitely going to try this
Dude. Taking a swim in the middle of the night, with the full moon and its reflection on the water as the only light source, while on 300ug acid, is amazing.
You get it. There’s nothing like being WITH the mountains.
Ima have to try that, I've only done them at night and jammed out on YouTube while gaming, or walking around listening to my music looking at the stars.
Done some hiking on mdma, and that was incredible.
Haven’t tried MDMA yet, I’d like to but I don’t trust the “mdma” my friends have lol
I now have two peak mushroom experiences and to no surprise both were outdoors. I brought mushies to Antarctica and while trekking to Everest in the Himalayas. Those were two of the most exceptional days in my life. Highly recommend mushroom tourism, it’ll change your life.
I once went tubing on a river after taking some mushies and it was THE BEST! I just floated on my tube laughing at everything and enjoying the feel of the water for hours
and this dudes a criminal according to our stupid laws
On the morning walk, how lovely
Don't mess with psiosiblin(?) but I do love special nature walks then walking through another time and revisiting while sober.
I REMEMBER THAT BIRD
(It was likely a different bird...)
Psilocybin (i think thats correct, probably)
Sillycibin
Sillyvibin
(It was definitely a different bird)
I’m in grizzly country and that sounds terrifying
Good news, seeing a bear when not tripping is equally as terrifying
Worse yet is if the bear sees -you-.
One time I was walking qith my girlfriend kn mushrooms and I saw this apartment complex with a few plants in the front of it and that shit was an oasis in paradise.
In reality, it's a super shitty beat up old building and not very nice at all.
8:30am 4 days a week.
I did that on memorial weekend. What a trip!
I walked to the store on acid once, because I was extremely thirsty and I felt completely fine until I went in the store 😭
All of a sudden I try scanning my wallet, putting cash in the card reader, etc. etc. it was like my movement controls were rearranged
Take a sword and play legend of Zelda
What kind of mushrooms?
Whatever magical flavor you prefer? There are tons of varieties. That's for you to discover space cowboy 🚀
Are they legal in every state? I don’t even know where to start or get them.
They are only legal in Oregon so far as I know. They can be found everywhere if you know where to look and if you don't know where to look I don't know what to tell you
Lol, reminds me of a time when I got high with a buddy of mine and we went into the woods behind where he lived. We came across this random hovel and a bunch of kittens came out of it. That would have been a cool experience sober, but with us both being flavor blasted to a point where we probably shouldn't have even been outside, we might as well have been on an expedition with David Attenborough witnessing the true beauty of nature.
We also saw a homeless guy.
Sounds like you did see the true beauty of nature: a homeless guy
Not flavor blasted 😭
I saw a squirrel laying on a branch taking a nap the other day & was the happiest person alive
The high thought I had when I saw a squirrel was “Wow, what a lucky guy, living in a park. That must be like owning prime real estate for humans”
I saw an armadillo for the first time recently! Alive, anyway. Usually seen them as roadkill
See I’d try to grab it or something or lure it in with my “vibes” and get bit 🤣
Oh he wanted nothing to do with me hahah. I tried to call it like a cat to no avail, and it dipped into the brush before I could take a good picture
I smoke and go for long walks too.
I don’t know man I’ve had some pretty great conversations in my head sitting there high doing nothing lol
Honestly, I become my best company when high
Absolutely! 9 months ago I got incredibly high by myself and got lost in my head. Had a very honest tough talk with myself. Since that night I’ve lost 107lbs and am currently in the best shape of my life. Tell people all the time that weed led to my lifestyle change.
Great to hear, best of luck on your wellness journey!
Reveal your secrets oh cannabis guru
You’re Crushing it Bro! Proud of you!!!
Tell us more, please.💐
I’m in my early 30’s and have been 300+ since graduating high school. Have kids and realized if I wanted to see my kids graduate high school I was going to have to make a change. I completely cut sugar out and limited carbs. Started walking three times a week typically while/after smoking. That eventually led to running which is really when I started to feel the change take place. I then discovered a new love of hiking/backpacking. Smoking that night essentially flipped a switch in me that has completely changed my perspective on food, exercise, and my hobby’s.
That is awesome!
Congratulations on reaping the rewards off all of your hard work.🥳
The mind is the most powerful tool u have obviously, I love the enhancement of the mind By the great o lovely le cannabis. No wonder back in the day they wrote all these krazy stories
I found my tribe. It’s so relaxing being in deep thought
One of the many benefits of ADHD that when I’m high, I can create an entire movie in my head that lasts for a little hour to two hours
It’s when I think of some pretty good ideas honestly. I have an entire hydroponic garden in my basement. Sadly no bud yet, but, it’s fun to get high and tend to the plants lol.
Sometimes you deserve to relax and be happy
⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️
Get high and do whatever you want. There is no weird/normal.
as if there's a bunch of rules lol
I do feel this way sometimes.
What I’ve found to be a good response to this headspace (for myself anyway, ymmv) is music paired with some kind of movement.
Sometimes I’ll clean around the apartment. Sometimes I’ll go for a walk/bike ride. Sometimes I’ll play with my cat.
The music is just cause I love music 😅
I almost exclusively smoke while exercising for this reason. Gives you some positive space to process things while enjoying the weather, moving your body, getting some endorphins.
Second this. Combining a runner’s high with being actually high is amazing. I feel like I could run forever
Try to already be engaged in an activity before you smoke maybe it’ll help you stay motivated, but weed naps are great.
That’s why I love having a cart (I know it’s not my favourite way of smoking) but it’s the one I can actually smoke in the house and I’ll be doing some college work, I study computing science so smoking helps me focus especially when it comes to programming. Definitely a great recommendation of being engaged in an activity!
You could pick up a hobby that goes well with smoking like gardening. Or maybe something to get those creative juices flowing like drawing. At the end of the day it's your decision how you spend your high, whether that's working out, cooking, going for a walk or simply laying down and soaking in a good movie. Enjoy!
gardening! yes! i can spend hours outside weeding and pulling the dead stuff off my succulents. happily in my own company too!
Painting goes awesome with smoking!
true words, while I love just vibin sometimes when im baked doing things while high just stimulates my creativity and lets me connect with nature much more easily.
try cleaning while high! throw on some headphones with your favorite music playing and just get to work. it feels so good and then when your done you can get high again and enjoy doing nothing in a clean space!
I clean while high almost exclusively. I have many auto-immune disorders and started smoking for chronic pain, and smoking just makes me able to move better. I'm not in intense pain 24/7, but those little stresses between the joints relax, my leg doesn't cramp, musvles relax, and my back can move, I can just stay on my feet longer.
I also exercise (rarely, Im fat and lazy af) when high for the same reasons. I can go longer, and ignore more pain.
It can help me sleep, too.
But also, the majority of the time, I just chill out. Do nothing, play video games, watch yt/tv. Feels good as shit. I'd do it and zone out if I was perfectly healthy.
I have no numbers for this, but I suspect the majority of people who get high do not get much done. You need a high tolerance, or a lot of motivation and the right strain, or just the right timing to smoke and be productive. Lots of people do it; I'm one of them, sometimes, but I have been a frequent smoker for years at this point. And I also enjoy being high at different times of day and being productive while high. Some people explicitly want to smoke to veg out and relax or go to sleep.
So the long way of saying, no I don't think it's weird at all. I think you are likely in the majority of weed smokers. If you want to change that you probably can, but you don't need to.
I think the big thing for me is I’m a really anxious person while smoking so it stops me from really going out and doing anything. It’s the same when I’m alone, but it’s a lot easier for me to talk myself down from being anxious when I’m alone compared to in public. I have a friend who took me to the mall while high and it was a god awful experience lmao
Have you stopped to consider recently if weed is actually even doing anything for you? No judgement at all, obviously we're in r/trees. If smoking increases your anxiety, maybe it's not actually a high? Do you find sometimes you'd like to go out and do something but you've already smoked so you know you're too anxious to go out? Just some things to consider, if you want.
I mean as a long time regular smoker, even I'll have times when I feel like its bumped my anxiety up, especially if I'm doing something unusual I haven't done before while high.
The strain of weed or the amount you used, if you ate recently, and your own mental state to me are big drivers for if you end up feeling more anxious than usual.
I'm the same way. I HAVE to be in an environment where I have control. If the music is too loud I need to be able to turn it down. I need to be in control of all my senses because they are heightened when I'm high. I had the WORST experiences when getting high with my friends in public. Now I enjoy a relaxing evening a home and sleep like a baby.
Different strains of weed and some exposure therapy could probably change that if you want to be more active, but personally I think there is nothing wrong with smoking specifically to hang out and relax.
I smoke while I play video games
I exclusively smoke, then do nothing. I find it weird how people want to go do shit while stoned lol
I was going to clean my room, and then I got high.
No
This comment needs more votes 😂
Do people that consume alcohol go out and have adventures or clean their house etc? Do we expect them to? Can we not have a smoke after work to just sit and relax? Of course we can. I go to work, do a good job, pay my bills and keep a decently clean house. I can lay around and smoke all I want!
Not weird at all, but you may want to be mindful of the habits you form while smoking.
The high from weed is related to the endocannabinoid system in the body, and the endocannabinoid system promotes the formation of habits.
That's why even though weed isn't physically addictive, it can be incredibly habit forming. So, it's important to be mindful of the habits you have surrounding cannabis use. Eating dinner and going to bed are good habits to have, so nothing weird at all that's what you like to do. You can maybe work in eating as healthy as possible (high protein, high fiber meals. Broccoli is a good veggie to have). It may be unpleasant at first if you don't already eat healthy, but you'll be able to quickly make anything a habit if you pair it with weed.
If that doesn't make you feel better, maybe try pairing weed with going for a walk. Overall as long as you're being mindful of how cannabis impacts habit formation, there's no weird way to use it.
Obviously THC, CBD, etc are not studied well enough for anything I'm saying here to be conclusive.
For me I can do either but it really depends on the strain and the last time I smoked. Some strains will get me up and cleaning and others… just chillin on the couch
It’s only wasting time if you’re having a bad time.
Otherwise, it’s simply using the time you’ve been given. You get to spend it any way you want that pleases you. That’s the gift we’ve all been blessed with. That is the secret to life.
The best part about smoking weed is it makes doing nothing fun.
This. My BFF and I both do cross stitch & embroidery - her favorite thing on earth is to get stoned and stitch. I try to do it constantly and usually end up on here 😅 threading a needle just ain't it, I become a lump
Nothing wrong with that my dude. Just make sure you’re takin care of what you need to before you get high - at least, the important stuff. I like saving chores for when I’m toasted, personally.
When I get high I spend a huge amount of time admiring and eyefucking myself in the mirror.
I'm not sure if that's better or worse than doing nothing.
No moment high is wasted.
How much I get done has more to do with the time of day than the amount I smoked. I’m just a morning person whos more productive before 3pm. After that it’s got to be something really interesting to keep my attention.
Be more intentional with what you're going to do when you get high. Plan what you'll do before you smoke. If you just get high first and then decide what to do, my experience is chances are good it's going to be a pretty lazy time.
Sometimes before I smoke I decide I'll put on some music and clean/yardwork/chore/etc., and it's pretty easy to follow through on that for me. I also decide plenty often to get high and be lazy for the next hour or two. Nothing wrong with that if it's what you actually want to do.
My work kicks the living crap out of me every day. There is nothing as good as getting a shower, then relaxing with a smoke. So, IMHO, no, not weird.
One of my biggest fears about weed was "making doing nothing ok" in a normalization meaning. It used to scare me to my core about "what if I become one of those guys that just does nothing all the time"
Doesn't it make dinner taste better? Doesn't it help you calm your mind or sort through your thoughts? Doesn't it help you sleep? Doesn't it make music more emotional? I love all those things about weed.
Made bacon wrapped jalapeños with cream cheese. And a badass dinner. I work 2nd so it's chill every morning. Or I can do whatever.
I want to do nothing when I smoke which is why I make it a rarer thing these days. I love watching movies, music, and just relaxing in general so is there a huge difference between my daily life and smoking? I guess not but I feel like if I am going to be doing those things anyway, I might as well not waste time smoking.
But I smoke when I want to just be even more relaxed and maybe be more entertained by those other things. I definitely don't want to move around or go out and be social. I actually prefer smoking alone. I'm in my own little world when I do smoke lol.
Some people will tell you you're wasting your high or life doing the things you listed but if you genuinely enjoy them, I never think of that as wasted time.
I do try to make a conscious effort if I just smoke and stay at home watching stuff to at least try to walk around my place while doing that to get my blood moving.
I used to be couchlocked and basically not able to do anything when I was young. Now that I’m old it’s the opposite. These days I get shit done when high. Like chores and stuff, somehow they seem not dreadful anymore.
Not weird at all. Getting high helps me do nothing without guilt. It feels amazing.
If I have chores to do, I find that if I start them before the high kicks in, I keep going and have fun once it finally does. The urge to do nothing fades into the background and the chores become enjoyable, especially with music.
Why would that be weird 😭
Do w.e tf u want kid
Doing nothing is sometimes a good thing, a palette cleanser for the brain. I have a mentally taxing job (some physical labor too but lots of thinking and problem solving). After I get home and take care of my responsibilities sometimes it's good to let my brain take a break. Personally I'm also more motivated in the mornings so I can toke and still get a lot done but I have far less motivation in the evenings.
No, that's just sorta what weed does. Start with the intention of doing a particular task, though, and you'll be laser focused on it.
Sativa vs indica is a real thing. It also depends on how you operate in sober life too. Mindset really takes cannabis to particular pathways as well.
When I was my most unhealthy I was lazy af sober, high and/or drunk. Haha
My mindset is usually “ok I’ll smoke a small bowl and clean/organize and be generally productive” but after I smoke I get too relaxed to be productive. Now I usually only smoke when I’m done for the day
Smoke your own smoke my man. Some days I get high and go do shit, most days I get high and watch reels for 2 hours. We aren’t all wired the same
One of my favorite things to do on a day off is wake and bake and go back to sleep. My bf thinks I'm wasting my high (even though I'm awake for a good 30 minutes before dozing off again) but I love it.
I say your high is yours, do whatever you like with it!
Cannabis is something to do when there's nothing to do, which makes nothing to do, something to do. Sometimes I'll freak out about not doing anything, and after I smoke, the feeling goes away.
After 7 im always high doing nothing. But before seven im running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Stoned.
Weird is just a word people use to feel secure around that which they do not understand.
Sir that is what most people do when they are high. Usually I get bored and start fuckin around with a hobby project.
If I'm smart I'll have a task list.
That’s my #1 favorite hobby
Not weird at all; that's the classic thing to do after smoking weed: not a goddamn thing.
nah man, sometimes i get high planning to do some fun things and then i just smoke and literally just sit and wonder about things
most of my highs are doing nothing. i cannot function high, i’ve tried to smoke and clean but i’m so uncoordinated and lazy. i only smoke indica. so instead, i spend sober time cleaning and making everything just so, and then i smoke and relax in my nice clean room on my nice comfy bed.
I’ve been exhausted from bartending and getting home late night. Sometimes I smoke and just talk to my friends, other times I go play guitar or games until the suns up.
For me, when I smoke I (usually) have my stuff done and “ducks in order” so I’ve earned the right to do whatever I want, even if it’s “nothing”. If it makes you happy who cares.
That's what I do every day buddy except for when I am going to work
I mean if you are enjoying your time how are you wasting it? There is no way to be high, you do as you please. There are many days I do nothing and just watch tv or play a game while high or just go to bed. But like today I cleaned my whole house and now I’m just sitting and playing my games. There are so many days which include me smoking and if I was constantly doing something it’d probably last 3 days and I’d have nothing enjoyable to do.
Hey padawan, there is nothing wrong with just being. 👍
People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing everyday.
Sometimes nothing is exactly what you need.
Sometimes I'll put on my headphones to listen to music but I don't know what I want to listen to, so I listen to nothing with them still on
Absolutely! I try to save toking for when I have nothing left to do. Then I can enjoy my experience without worrying about whatever.
If you feel like you’re wasting it, plan an activity to do specifically high. I get baked and craft - specifically more than half of every Saturday. Set up the couch with pillows and snacks and play games, or draw on my iPad while listening to a book.
document your experiences It helps a ton when you have a reference to look back on when you’re baked and bored
My old dog is recovering from surgery and his pain meds make him a bit stoned so I hit the bong and we’re chilling on the couch for a couple weeks doing nothing :)
Sometimes I get shit done, sometimes I just vibe. Both are good.
Being is a supreme state. Calmness is the ultimate state of mind, the highest achievement of self. (Yogi Bhajan)
Psh, im high and doing nothing right now. At the worst, we can be weird together 😎
Personally, i find that most of the people who i know prefer to do nothing.
I am the only one i know who has a shesh and then feel energetic to do something.
Never smoked anything more daytime than Durban...
I mix it with kratom. Low dose kratom makes me want to do things
Doing nothing is doing something!
I don’t see the problem
I only do nothing when I'm high lol
Sometimes you just need a good brain rest and get lost in a show or album
not weird, but i understand the feeling of being guilty or dissatisfied with not doing anything - high or otherwise. realized that this comes from a feeling of guilt stemming from childhood. both of my parents were hard on us so you never got the feeling that you could just relax. what helps other than actively working to remember this is also reminding yourself that you’re an adult (unless you’re not) and that you can do whatever you want. do what you feel like doing :)
In the past I used to smoke lots of shitty weed and only binge eat and play video games. Now I smoke tiny amounts of certain high-quality strains and am able to choose to clean/create/chill/hike or socialize.
For me personally dosage plays a huge role of what I get out of it.
Sometimes I get high and do productive things. Usually yard work or house cleaning. Most of the time though, I get high and do nothing productive. I come home from work, get high, and veg the rest of the evening. Whether that's video games, tv, or staring at a wall, whatever, not productive.
But I specifically smoke when I get home from work so I can stop thinking and stressing about work. I have a pretty intense job and weed helps shut that part of my brain off.
I pretty much just get high and play games for a while. Sometimes I’ll get stuff done, but in general, I’m taking advantage of that relaxation
Almost everyone does that tbh
This is just the difference between smoking with and without intention.
Music and movies are two of my favorite things while high. Makes both more immersive and you experience it from a different perspective
Those are the best, what you’re doing is what my usual after work routine is.
Time is not wasted if you enjoy it.
Nah you’re trippin don’t let other people bring your high down bro. Being high is about enjoying doing nothing. After a shit day I look forward to my 2 BT’s b4 dinner and one b4 bed to help me sleep. You do you 🤙🏻
Not at all. It is one of life’s gifts
Not at all. I often smoke a couple bowls after i get home from work just to wind down.
I do like to smoke a bowl before my spin class though, thats always fun.
To be super honest I've been so high I really couldn't do shit.
This is a sign that you should start learning to produce music. You can do it fairly fucked up and you will think everything you make is amazing for a while.
I can only be productive if I only smoke a little bit - like a hit or 2 off a onie.
There is no doing nothing. You are breathing. You are existing. Be fully yourself. That is what you are alive to do.
You do you. That’s what is so great about the plant. Sometimes I’m a ball of mush and other times motivated. I actually annoy myself sometimes. I’ll smoke and plan to watch some tv but end up doing something and forget to enjoy my high 😁
I have a demanding job and a busy home life (kids with after school activities, spouse in a grad program, home projects, language courses).
I take edibles to uncouple my mind from juggling all the things the day or week throws at me. I will sometimes feel motivated to do some laundry or vacuuming, but most often I just watch TV, play a video game, lay on the couch and listen to a record, or usually just go to sleep … I get earlier sleep, and better sleep, as a result.
The busier I have become in life, the more I value “doing nothing”. There is great value in “doing nothing”.
People use weed for different things, I also enjoy doing nothing, that’s when my brain can literally stop going around and around. I do enjoy smoking while doing activities, but to me there’s nothing better than putting my feet up, petting the cat, and enjoying the peace and quiet while it lasts
I think some people have high tolerance and therefore are able to get high and function more or less the same. My coworkers and managers can get high and still have normal conversations with customers and do the counting at the end of the night. I have no idea how they're able to do all that after smoking one/two joints throughout the night because all I need is one and I'm not able to accomplish much of anything except lmao at dumb videos and sleep
Absolutely not weird, everyone uses canna for different things. I use it to manage my ADHD and help me focus, but I literally trained my brain and body to work this way. A lot of people still use it to just relax and feel good. What you describe sounds relaxing and feel-good to me. If it makes you happy, then you're doing it right.
You're not wasting your high my friend, you're just taking a different path and thats totally fine! Sit back and enjoy it, thats what its made for!
I thought it was the norm brother
Long as you enjoy it, who’s to say..?
Dude, last time I got high I got really sad and did nothing. I just sat there and tried to process the grief I was going through and how it came to be. My dad disowned me because I moved out when his wife accused me of being possessed. Up until then I was running off of the anger and fear from the event. Now the sadness is catching up to me again and it took getting high to get me to sit still without any distractions to start the process of healing. I try not to use drugs to cope, so I won't be getting high again in a long while.
Sorry for the vent, the point is, there's nothing wrong with getting high and doing nothing so long as it doesn't interfere with other parts of your life.
That's my nightly routine. Get a few puffs, eat supper, chillax, then go to bed. Smoking affects differently, don't feel bad about how you relax as long as the important stuff is taken care of
You do you with your high. I usually just sleep because I need it for that. I get high to unwind and relax.
I only smoke at the end of the day when I can couch lock.
Get high and (if you have one nearby) go to the beach - at night. Fucking life changing. I do it now at least once or twice a week. It's a nice lil break away from the craziness.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with your process.
It’s just daytime high allows you to elevate by eating fresh mango, oranges and coffee. All of which I would never do after 2pm.
Depends on your body, i think, i'm same, not very productive when smoke weed, even quit for 2 years smoking once, after 25y, to realise that that on weed i wasnt finishing anything i started or planned to the end
It’s amazing. I can see my thoughts much clearer so I get to enjoy being in my own head
Sometimes I get real high and stare at the TV while it's off. That's how lazy I can be
I hope not because that's what I do lmao
Damn, is there something wrong with the scenario you just laid out?
I get high before everything so it becomes normal
Everyone has their own thing. Don't feel bad, I do the same. I use it at the end of the day to just relax, stop giving a damn, and get lost in video games (Helldivers 2 atm)
No matter how motivated I feel to do something, no matter how well rested I am, no matter how uplifting a strain is supposed to be, there comes a time when I’m high when I think, “Sitting down now would be good,” and all activity ceases 😂
Not at all--Purposefully doing nothing IS doing something.
Lay off the internet while you're at it, too. Those people are blowing your high.
Doing nothing is still doing something. So no, nothing wrong with just getting lost in thought and staring at wall contemplating life and memories. Its good for your mental state sometimes ans is borderline meditation
Yeah I feel like life is busy enough. Sometimes you need a good and complete mental shutdown
I struggle with doing things around the house, I am burned out and emotionally drained at home. Getting high helps me be productive age experiencing this. However, when there is nothing to do I don’t do anything but watch tv or play games. It’s normal in my opinion.
Some folks smoke to wind down. Some folks smoke to do stuff they otherwise wouldn't. It's all fine
That's something you can't compare, simple as that.
We have unique environments, life (friends, family etc) and hobbies.
While I like going out and lighting up a J in nice weather, most of the time I'm home, playing or watching TV shows.
Also, it really depends on the strain too, Sativa and Indica style 😎
Nah, not a waste at all. Any time enjoyed is not time wasted. I feel like cannabis is a fluid thing like that - you use it in the way the works for you. Sometimes I like to go heavy in the recording studio after/while I smoke - sometimes I just wanna go for a walk or watch a movie. It's all gravy.
It depends, if it’s every single time & it’s not your intention then maybe you need less or have some ideas written down ready & don’t just sit down, try and do them even if it’s listening to music & drawing. It’ll be fun
idk anyone that gets high and does things.
Not weird, but I understand the feeling. Lately I’ve just been going on nature walks after I smoke and it’s pretty amazing. I saw an armadillo this morning and it’s crazy how happy that made me lol
