Expected the boy to be named Christian.
That would have been amazing lol
Would have been better than the usual stereotype atleast.
I know right, even I that have the humor of a potato thought "Hi, my name is Cristiano"
A strong Christian name!
Gabriel Jesus
Yehoshua Ben Yusef
Christiano maybe...
She doesn't look 17 I agree 😂
Right? I am just shocked as he was. She looks like she is in her 30s. Maybe maybe late 20s youngest.
I thought 30s too!
Well she's not going to love this comment section...
13 going on 30, but actually, wtf
Thought she looked late 20s early 30s… lol the name and aging are gonna be rough on her
She's going to look the same for the next 50 years.

Calm down, this is not the worldnews or another news/politics sub.
Australia is western now?
Yeah when we got flipped we got disoriented. We’re western now.
Well shit
Seventeen?
So... what's the deal with airline food? Is that really chicken? I'm thinkin' hey!
What's the deal with Ovaltine? The cup is round, the spoon is round, it should be called Roundtine.
That's gold, Jerry! Gold!
Jerry would have still hit her up after the show.
I work with a guy named Jihad. Seriously. Really cool guy.
A guy got his Playstation account banned because his username was IJihad, which is his real name.
So racist/culturally insensitive. My son was also banned because he used his real name and i took great offense. I didnt name him BlackNaziDick69 to see him marginalized and made to feel different for it. Hopefully my daughter Muslima wont suffer the same
when daddy is a gamer from the old xbox COD lobbies.
I wanted to upvote, but this is at 69 and I don’t want to tarnish this.
it went up to 70, but dw i got it back down to 69
Got it there. Hopefully no one touches it
72 now. Who does that?
Samesies
got your back...
Jihad is quite a common name.
Jihad me at hello
It's a great name..
Why isn't Templar and Muslima more common tbh? Apparently Jihad and Christian are.
Christian is probably just imported from other languages. It comes from Christ, obviously, but in other languages the religion is named a bit different (for example, in Dutch you have the name Christia(a)n, but the word for Christian is "Christelijk").
but you do NOT want to make him upset
the struggle is real
Its a really common name for both boys and girls.
I knew a guy who's mom was named Siria.
Drop his socials. Let's blow up his IG
I recently just met a girl named Jihad. We are traveling together, it's on her passport. Pretty cool chick.
I didn't know there were girls named Jihad, tbh. I do know Jihan, though (sometimes written Jihane).
He sounds like a blast.
So did I. He used to tell me stories about him passing through US customs like him saying to the custom agent "Yes it is Jihad. It is a very famous word". But I kinda think things didn't exactly went the way he told me.
Drake should take notes
lol Yah, like take a step back and apologize… Definitely NOT text them regularly and give them dating advice!
No that was the 13 year old he’s talking about what he did with the 17 year old since they’re the same age, which yea, drake should def take notes.
Muhammad approves.
He handled that well. A decent stand up needs to have a decent improv game as well.
That’s a pretty big audience for me never having heard of you. Do you have an American following or is it mostly Australia?
It’s Max Amini. He’s actually pretty worldwide
Are there any countries he’s ugly in
Dad!
His fan base are more than 90% Iranians
Becouse he is Iranian and does some shows in Farsi.
Which explains the amount of laughter when he dropped out of English.
My wife has an uncle called Jihad.
he probably never misses a random strip search at airports
He lives in an Arab country so he's probably not getting finger banged by the TSA too much.
Is this John Turturro from Mr. Deeds or is it a doppleganger?
Heard of a girl named Female. Parents said the doctor named her that when she was born
We told the doctor our daughter's name, but then they put a strap on her wrist that said 'B Girl '. Thought it was a little rude, but we rolled with it.
Even if she's a plant, it's still a fantastic bit
Looks human to me
I don’t know she could be a shrubbery
It is a good shrubbery. I like 'er laurels particularly.
Ni!
Props on not doubling down and hitting on the seventeen year old after learning she was 17
damn the bar is low
in terms of middle east - you have no idea how low it is
lol do YOU know? Plus they're not in the middle east - really showing your ignorance here.
lmao in half of the middle east sex between unmarried adults is punishable by jail or lashing, but the minimum age for marriage is so low in some of them or can be bypassed easily with parental consent or disregarded completely in places where sharia law is also implemented. for example, Iran set the mininum to 13 for females, yemen set it to "puberty", afghanistan set it to 16 in civil law but sharia law can cancel it. he is iranian btw
Again they're not in the middle east, they are in the united states. Max Amini was born in the US which makes him American..
plus if you look at the laws in the united states it ranges from 14 - 18: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marriage_age_in_the_United_States#States with it being lower just decades earlier.
So it's pretty clear you're just race baiting or just starting sh** for not reason. Take that ignorance and negativity somewhere else.
PJ
If a catholic can call himself Cristiano, I think she can call herself Muslima
“Nobody fuck with the Jesus”
Max? To too reddit chikar mikoni 🤣
Bruh, I thought she was 26 lmao
On a side note. Anyone know the brand for the sweatshirt? Looks cool.
Loved this guy in severance!
Wait what? What character does he play?
Haha just referring to the fact he kinda looks like John Turturro
And he talks like him too.
That joke would have landed him in jail where I am at. Insane laws around a certain religion.
I'm sorry, I need help and feel dumb. Why is her name a funny/controversial talking point? I'm missing why her name had a big reaction. Thank you anyone who can answer.
Muslima is a female muslim in arabic. So i guess its similar to a christian guy called christian
Thank you. I made that inference as well, however that still doesn't answer my question. Why would anyone care if her name sounded like Muslim or was derived from a religious word? For example, mom is named Christine, and didn't stop her from dating.
I wouldn't consider someone's name to be a barrier to going on date. Shakespeare wrote it more elegantly.
Reddit: Second time asking this. I am asking genuine questions, and trying to be polite, and respectful. There is no animosity. Why is this also downvoted?

It's a joke about the dad preventing casual dating by showing they are a hardcore religious family. Nothing to do with country.
no i think even muslims would remember to watch themselves/intentions..
Yikes. Well nothing against the comedian at all, I guess this joke just didn't land for me. Thank you for your insight.
Also Muslima is very uncommon name here for Muslims/Arabs. I have couple people I know of named Muslim (male name) but never heard of Muslima. That being said, there are all kinds of names that'd sound weird for people because they lack cultural context. Fpr example, a common female name here is "Baneen" which literally translates to "Boys".
It’s not super deep, just a Muslim girl named Muslima. Kinda like if a Jewish girl was named jewisha
Or a Christian woman being called Christine/Christina?
Yeah, although Christine (or Christian for men) is very common where I live so would probably be less notable (unless muslima is just as common - I honestly have no idea)
Christine is normal where I'm from too... It's weird, no?
More like a Christian guy being named Christian.
Muslima is not that common. But Islam as a surname is pretty common where I'm from
For the joke, why does her father naming her Muslima guarantee that nobody would date her?
Reddit: I am asking genuine questions, and trying to be respectful. There is no animosity. Why is this downvoted?
I took it as being very religious may drive guys away because casual dating is not something that aligns with more traditional religious views but I could totally be wrong
I wonder if it shows she has the type of dad to name her Muslima
"What type of men do you like?"
Muslimss adjacent person waves hand in air excitedly
Dude next to her makes her put her hands down
Funny guy.
this bit kind of sucks. the only funny part is at the very end.. i've seen max be funnier than this
That wasn’t funny at all
The terrorist bit saved it
That was the worst part

This is basically what I was always taught: https://ahmadiyya.org/islam/aisha-age.htm fwiw
It's worth pointing out that this source is Ahmadiyya. Most Sunni and Shia branches, along with the governments of most majority muslim countries do not recognise Ahmadiyya as being a branch of Islam at all. So when the linked article argues "Maulana Muhammad Ali was the first Islamic scholar directly to challenge the notion that Aishah was aged six and nine, respectively, at the time of her nikah and consummation of marriage", we should bear in mind that a Sunni or Shia muslim could say this is equivalent to a sentence like "Joseph Smith was the first Christian scholar to raise the possibility that Jesus was reincarnated in the Americas after his crucifixion".
The evidence presented in the linked article isn't new, and it's rejected by most "mainstream" Islamic scholars as cherry picked or misinterpreted. Secular scholars (and muslims like the Ahmadiyya who have alternative perspectives on hadith authenticity) have less of a problem with the idea that Aisha could have been older, but the problem for most mainstream Islamic schools is that the hadith that specifies Aisha's age as six for marriage and nine for consummation is smack dab in the middle of one of the collections of hadiths considered to be the most reliable and authentic. If any hadith in that collection is not true, huge sections of Islamic law and practice completely unrelated to Aisha's age also come into question because suddenly the reliability of the author is in question. So Aisha being in the single digits when she married is a position not seriously challenged in the most common branches of Islam.
Now that’s fucking comedy! 😂
“My name is Isliam”
Drake be like
Tbf if I were a woman and didn't want to be hit on, I'd say I'm 17 if I was passing.
Bro knew he fkd up so bad that he started sounding like doofenshmirtz
I think Muhammad would be OK with it.
She later Married a guy named hindu and named their sons as Christian and Buddha.
This is funny?
Very well done!
Mohamed married a 6 year old. It’s in the Hadiths.
I want to see more of his standup. Any available?
So cringe and braindead
Fine but what about the show?
Don't be so hard on yourself.
Wait until you hear about Aisha bint Abu Bakr.
No Drake
The attempt at humor was not only unsuccessful but also somewhat distressing. It's important to recognize that jokes can sometimes miss the mark and have the unintended consequence of causing discomfort rather than amusement.
The crowd disagrees, apparently they decided not to take offence at everything today. Where were you?
Come on man, the man's name must be Muslim, it was right there for you...
I was just reading about how back in the 70's when Cat Stevens changed his name to Yusuf Islam. Kinda similar.
What a diverse crowd he has
I thought I was chubby, but she's definitely Muslima
Missed opportunity for a punchline that the Muslima-Jihad wedding was going to be the bomb.
i think she is also converted 😂
Cringe
Why the hell are we just getting stand up comics in this sub. This shouldn't be the place for self promotion for stand up comics looking to get tickets sold. Go to a sub that features comics and stop leeching off an old sub like this.
That's Max Amini. He always draws a huge audience and is always on tour! IJBOL
Balls of steal to be making jokes about the M.....
They have proven to melt steel if you give them enough jet fuel so
dont funny.
Muslim stand up first in time ever))))
Explosive punchline.
She'd be 5 years married already in the middle east
This is not funny. There is no name, God is Great, and it is not permissible to say that
As far as I'm aware, porn isn't permissible either but judging from your comment history... let's just say Allah isn't your biggest fan bro
Not permissible to say it? Or not permissible to actually name someone Allah?
God is Great, and it is not permissible to say that
normal people don't care about what deities prohibit others to do.
it is not permissible to say that
According to who?
