Welcome to the squad big dawg 🔥
ImageKuminga is 7'2" and still growing
7' 8"" as per latest reports
Its crazy hes already 7’4”
LFG. Legit big body finally 🥴
Finally an answer to our size.
Whether Steve Kerr plays him is another conversation
He will never play meaningful minutes lol
Kerr has to play Post so he can bench him for a week every time he makes a mistake.
🙌🏻
I used to pray for times like this
Right here, good buddy.
So that’s what they look like.
Cant be worse than Wiseman surely?
Magnus Carlsson looking ass.
If he’s got a similar IQ, he will be Jokic for us
Lol
For the record, top chess players can be dumb as shit, just really good at chess.
Exact same thought. Wanted to comment that 😂
He looks like Magnus Carlson ate Magnus Carlson
We got Magnus Carlson on the Warriors before GTA VI
Both you guys man. It’s “Carlsen.” Seems wrong but isn’t.
We got Magnus Carlsen at home
legit thought someone did a photoshop as a joke at first
Literally the first thing I thought :P
This dude def got that dawg in him.
Literally best comment in thread
Magnus Damon
Nah that’s Cromagnus Carlsen
Dude shot 43% from 3, gets rebounds and can rim protect. I mean that's not bad at all for a #52 pick.
And somehow squeezed a 6'6 wing out of the same pick
For some reason I thought you said wingspan and now I’m picturing this 7 ft Dutch dude with t-rex arms
Bane is a 7 ft Dutch dude?
Lmao same i just got here and was confused by that comment. Thought our 7ft has a relatively short arms. Funny image
Hah
MDJ with the prestige
Sounds a little hard to believe for 52.
TJD is hard to believe for a pick in the 50s as well. Let's hope they cooked again
Fingers crossed
Its really good!
Budget Brook Lopez
praying for the brook lopez arc where he becomes a beast on defense
I mean, this guy supposedly IS a beast on defense
translation to the NBA is definitely different. the shooting looks like it’ll translate given by his promising ft% but defense is TBD
Seeing as how this guy already has a 3pt shot, which Lopez didn't develop until his late 20s, coupled with that FT%, i'm digging the offensive repertoire already
His last name has a lot of potential for postgame memes
His first name is a gold mine too!
The Jokic Stopper
About to lock Jokic up in the Dutch Oven.
Dutch Oven LOL
As a BC fan, we absolutely love QP. Great pick by you guys. He’s not a plus defender, but he’s an offensive weapon. Big time shooter and also a nice game inside. I think he would have been a star at a bigger program.
Can I paint his yoo hoo GOLLLLLDDDDD?
It’s kind of my thing, you know.
Yes it is! You guys lost to Austria in the Euro so you should be sad :(
Juts kidding dude, do you live there and are a long-distance fan?
Nope, just a fan of Austin Powers
Woosh
I'm looking at his stats and I'm liking what I'm seeing.
I’m excited!! Exactly who I wanted. Love it.
I watched none of his games or highlights and can tell you this pick is exactly what the Warriors needed.
One thing to note. Really slow footed and not athletic… I don’t know if he’ll be a top rim protector, but he’ll alter shots. He’ll rebound. Most importantly, he’ll spread the floor.
I’ve never heard of him but if you’re excited, I’m excited!!!
The Post season
If he hangs around Klay, he can be the high post.
Postered by Post
https://youtu.be/BwHOwFNscaE?si=T9tYO2ylXo0S_nok
These highlights look great. Plays strong, good balance, comfortable moving/driving with the ball, 16.9ppg, 43% from 3 on 3.3 3pt attempts per game, solid shot blocker.
52nd pick!?! Wow.
High hopes here - 2nd year TJD, Dray, and Post FTW.
Watched some Post highlights and lemme tell ya, MDJ cooked
If he has the same impact as TJD we are good
Even then just having the option off the bench for 2nd units who could play next to Draymond or when JK plays the four matters a ton.
Since GS is hard capped at the second apron now (as they intended), you gotta wonder what comes next. CP3 obviously coming off the books. Question is whether it's for PG or something else.
dudes got that look
lookin like hes got an extra chromosome
more is betta rite
Can’t wait for summer league
Future Wemby daddy
Stop it wemby is a whole other alien
Tjd already owns him
NGL he looks like he could go either way - MVP Joker level or rights renounced by year 4 Wiseman. I’m praying he’s able to become an NBA level player and stuffs Wemby into the rim.
Brother….Jokic is a NASA Supercomputer. You’re not going to see player with his size and skill set for a very long time
brother, I literally meant “looks”. I know the player joker is a once in a lifetime deal. literally look at post’s face. he could be an all timer or not in the league by next spring lol.
Yeah but wiseman was the second pick lol
By year 4 he'll be 28
"Soooo, I heard you're all excited with our new big and want to see him play? I'm thinking GLeague for half the season and DNPs for the remaining half. How's that?"
- Steve probably
Idk, he somehow liked podz and tjd enough to get them in the rotation. I honestly think Steve just looks at how hard people are willing to work. If he sees this area slacking, no matter how talented they are he benches them. Probably what his beef was with Kuminga. If these new guys are like dogs like Podz they'll be ok.
I agree with you 100%. I'm just trying to make fun of Steve's reputation (fair or not) of benching rookies 😃
It's about doing the right thing. Podz especially and somewhat TJD just follow the scheme better. Kuminga is talented but often messes up the set.
July 22nd will be a memorable day for the warriors franchise, a very memorable day indeed
Looks good for a second round pick. Legit size. Goes up with power and soft touch. He's a tad slow and will get burned in the pick and roll but some good blocks at the rim. But again, for a second round this is a nice pick.
His draft profile and fit for the team reads too good to be true, especially for the 52nd pick. What's being omitted here?
This makes me happy. I was like wtf a couple hours ago but am now thrilled we finally have an actual big big man 🙌🏻
I was confused at first because they bought the pick back from the Blazers and drafted this kid.
So I was upset, thinking that they drafted him and then in someway he was traded off afterwards for Waters.
Glad that’s not the case
Hoping we can see a lil bogut in him. I think him and TJD can mimic Lee and Bogut if given the chance to. A Podz, Moody, JK, TJD, other big passing body sounds pretty bright given we keep them all
Honestly we have great assets. I wish we had Mark Jackson back to develop them and then give em to Kerr once they're ready. 😭
MDJ still gotta sort out what's to be had for the CP3 contract plus whatever we can offer from the rest of the tradeable deals. I imagine GP2, Looney and even someone like Moody or a couple picks will be what GS is dangling around for teams.
I would keep gp2 because of he somehow figures out how to be healthy he would be the x factor. Klay, Wiggins, looney, cp3, moody, picks are probably on the block.
Well, Klay's a FA so we couldn't trade him unless both sides agree to a sign and trade. GS already cap locked at second apron so doubtful that happens.
Wiggins and CP3 easily bring shopped, but including GP2 makes sense as filler given his ability on defense and that 9M contract is helpful filler. Looney I think is definitely gone after drafting Post yesterday. Really interested to see what MDJ does next.
At the very least, I like that he doesn't seem to be held captive by emotion like Myers was. Seems a steadier hand who's not gonna rush into anything.
Have no idea what cap locked at second apron means but I agree with the rest. I just wouldn't deal gp2 if I can help it. I'd be fighting to keep him.
Look up the Collective Bargaining Agreement or just read anything from Bobby Marks or any journalist covering GS. Basically means GS has hard locked themselves for this season so they can't field a roster of more than $189M in salary this year.
Oh for sure I wouldn't plus he's a solid locker room guy and defender when he's healthy, but he's getting older and the injuries have only mounted.
Woohoo a BC grad! Maybe that means he’s smart??
Kids been living in the Post his whole life. LET'S GOOOO!
Hol up. Huge Dubs fan and ready to be excited, but this dude is no Bogut.
Downmarks on his physically, specifically at the rim. Limited offensive moves. Not expected to be effective at pick and lob etc. check the scouting reports…. Stay cautiously optimistic
Bro he is pick #52 for a reason. Your comparing him to bogut who went #1 lol
Disagree, incredibly more mobile than bogut; has ability to stretch the floor with his shot making ability and drives harder than bogut.
Who jus won the chip; the Celts. Why?
They added Porzingis.
7 footer that can shoot and pass; but arguably Post is more physical and mobile than porzingis.
Bogut had cement in his shoes compared to this guy.
Don't disrespect an NBA champion like that. Bogut way better than this dude. In if he turns out like Bogut, we may actually have a shot next year.
No disrespect to Bogz!
One of my fave dubs (from down unda).
He served his purpose in that lineup at the time.
Shifting and evolving NBA.
Guys like post are the future.
Bigger floor, bigs are scoring threats from everywhere on wood.
Bro if this guy has half the career Bogut had he’ll be lucky. Bogut was all star borderline all nba level before he snapped his wrist in half.
Kerr: “Someone over 6 9’? Not on my roster. Straight to the G League for you”
In all seriousness I like his potential. Hope we get to see him play this year
The warriors are going to be so much fun to watch next season. I’m loving the moves so far. Podz+TJD+Kuminga+Moody+Waters+Post. Love the youth movement here.
Seriously? Tha sounds like play in exit if we don't do a good move.
I like Post tho.
I’d love to see all six of them on the roster to start. Make the needed moves elsewhere with CP3s contract.
It does but these are great complementary players for Steph. MDJ cooks on the main trades(CP3/Wiggs etc) we might be a contender.
Feel like CP3 gets traded now, Wiggs might have to recoup some value by the trade deadline. But we'll see, I've been surprised before. Moving off both CP3 and Wiggs this off-season would be huge.
The odds of us doing much in the post-season let alone getting there are slim. I think KC is mostly speaking to how fun it's going to be to watch the youth movement, and I agree!
Yeah this showcases how much different some fans are from each other, wasting another year of Stephs career is not fun to me, I would trade each of these players for an slim chance of a ring.
But each their one.
That will be good if Wiggins and CP3 go.
He fits the profile of what this team needs. I’m liking what MDJ is cooking so far.
He's so tall that he needs to slouch over to get his face in.
So no Kai Sotto?
Pls stop the Filipino Pipe Dream
I bet you he dreams about Kai’s Filipino pipe.
MDJ the best gm, you really are a genius in drafting players
Nice highlights reminds me of Joan's Valaciunas
When Zubac and Saric had a baby
This kid can play
Hopefully, it translates to the NBA.
I know talent he can play
He looks better than Wiseman on highlights, crazy we got him at 52.
That’s an incredibly low bar, but it checks out
Welp i guess the Warriors don’t need to offer Wiseman a minimum contract no more
Paul George when?
He’s going to OKC right?
No he's ours. From what I saw, we traded that 52nd pick to OKC, who then traded it to Portland, then somehow we got it back from Portland
That's confusing AF lol, I only saw the initial trade to OKC
Edit: looks like they bought the pick back?
Yep so we essentially got Lindy Waters and Post for some cash
Gotcha
He looks so evil and sexy 😈
The guy already got traded, right?
The pick was traded for Waters. Okc traded to Portland and apparently we bought it back from Portland…Dunleavy with the wheeling and dealing. We basically bought Waters.
Have fun in the G league!
I thought they traded their pick !?
It got traded to Portland, who sold it back to us.
The way that's framed sounds like a Craigslist marketplace lol
How is he different from pbj?
College highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkAq4lqMaTM
Not a lot of speed or bounce, but looks like he has great touch. Seems like he could do well with some solid conditioning.
Disagree, solid speed and balance (for a 7 footer - compared to the rest of league) plays strong. Ready to play day 1 second unit.
!RemindMe 4 years
I DONT KNOW WHO THIS IS BUT IM EXCITED!!!
Didn’t they trade him for Lindy Waters?
No, they got both him and Lindy Waters for an extra 1.5 million in cash.
I'm glad we grabbed someone with 5 seasons in college and who hopefully is experienced enough to contribute quickly.
He was also ACC All-Defensive team last season.
By doing this, we're officially hard capped at the second apron.
What does that mean?
Isn’t he getting sent the another team? NBA draft was confusing af
Damn finally a big man
big big big big big
This is really a good pick. He needs to work on his footwork and improve his court vision but he is a great passer (think those JK lob). His post up would definitely work with the Warriors system especially in both ends of pick and pop. With Dray leading the defense, he will learn more on how to defend and less pressure cause TJD can pick up the slack. Very excited if this panned just this is like another TJD.
We got a modern center who can both shoot 3s and defend the rim.. nice
I am super happy for this pick!!!
Watched some real game film and then a few highlight reels. He definitely has an outside game. Catch and shoot, as well as pick and pop.
Welcome to the squad man
Can he set a decent screen?
Prepare for a lack of minutes and opportunity buddy
Already better than Wiseman
Ngl I really wanted them to draft bronny and possibly lure LeBron into signing since he'd jump at the chance to play with curry and was basically going wherever bronny went, or we'd have "whatever you want" trade offers from the Lakers but this dude seems like a long term success pick instead of gambling on what ifs
When did we get Jack Reacher wth?
3 years older than Kuminga. That's wild... Great pick up. Welkom bij de Golden State Warriors!
Isn’t he going to OKC?
As a Dutch NBA fan I'm finally able to support a team again. Last Dutch NBA player was like 15 years ago
I'm fuckin stoked for this. I go to a bunch of Eagles games in all sorts of sports, and this dude is a beast. It'll be fun to see Curry have an actual big to play with.
Been watching him and get some Brook Lopez vibes in terms of his game.
Did we do like the Lakers and draft Saric son?
Who even is this?
Is this zubac long lost brother sheesh
watching him, he looks pretty immobile.
He going to get picked on in PnR
Kerr benching this kid for 2 years 😂
As if the Warriors will ever have a good big man... Stop it.
Yeah totally haven't had a playable big man in this run. Oh wait.
For the first time in what feels like forever, we have 3 centers on the books: Looney, Trayce, and Post.
Are the dubs going to try to be a playoff team starting a 2nd year Center? Or are we picking up a 4th center with experience? I sure hope we're not going to repeat last years mistake and keep starting Looney for half of the season before realizing he's too washed.
Get Giannis now and its on!!
Seriously, traded already? We need size lmao
He is ours.
We traded the pick to OKC for Waters. OKC traded the pick to Portland. We bought the pick back from Portland.
nice
We bought the pick back. Basically OKC traded the pick and cash to Portland for the 40th pick. Warriors bought the pick back from Portland.
oh... lit!
ahhhh sooo Welcome to the team, Lindy Waters III - not whoever is in the pic here
We bought the pick back. Basically OKC traded to Portland and we bought it back from Portland so dude is ours.
A 7 FOOTER EVERYBODY GET IN HERE
