I don't know where you're from but leaving a baby home alone to go for dinner would be considered serious child neglect, and anyone that learns you're doing this will look at you like you have three heads and likely contact the authorities.

Yeah, it sounds very much like Vesterbro is a good choice. It's not that big so location-wise it doesn't matter all that much, you can cross it by foot pretty easily and even easier if you rent bikes.

Jane Kønig was "cool" some time ago, not sure if it still is. But walking around on Istedgade or in Indre By you'll find a lot of designer clothing shops and also a few jewelry shops (the latter e.g. in Strædet).

First of all I want to apologize if this is not the correct place to write a question about this. Me and a couple of my friends would like to move to Copenhagen after we graduate, for a lot of different reasons (good work/life balance, friends living there, just like the city ...).We are all from and live in Belgium right now, and we're still studying. However, we are a bit lost on how to begin figuring this stuff out. We know nyidanmark.dk and stuff, but still find it rather difficult to navigate. This might sound silly, but would there be some step-by-step guide on this?

Hi all! Any advice on a moving company from Germany (near Düsseldorf) to Copenhagen?

My initial plan was to leave/sell all my furniture and start over in Copenhagen. The thing is I have only been living in Germany for a 1,5 years and despite the fact that all my furniture is IKEA, everything is new (bed, matress, TV, couch, desk etc) and it's hurting me a bit to leave everything behind. I was thinking of maybe checking prices to bring this stuff with me. Does anyone have any recommendation? I really have no idea how much this would cost and how this works. Thanks in advance!

If you like craft beer i would suggest visiting kødbyen / the meat packing district. There is a really unique vibe and a lot of craft beer bars (warpigs, Åben etc)

Its pretty close to the central station aswell

From there you could go to Nyhavn to enjoy some time by the canals - dont have specific recs here though. Its easy access by Metro to Kongens Nytorv.

Also if you happen to be here may 30 there is a big street festival happening i en the Nørrebro center.

Hello. I’ve recently finished my Bachelors degree (1st) in Comp Sci, and I have the opportunity to do a MSc degree. From what I’ve read, it seems the majority of Danes and internationals will posses a MSc so I am semi confident this is the route I will take now.

But my query here is, do companies care about the contents of the masters degree? I’m in a unique position, where my University will offer a MSc with a very large content cross over from my BSc (I mean like, barely anything different). I would be taking this just to get a job in CPH. Would this be a problem, or should I pursue a MSc which I will learn more in? I appreciate it sounds silly spending more years of my life on a pointless MSc, but I will be working a full time job at the same time so it should be quite manageable and allows me to get experience at the same time.

My BSc had a focus on cloud computing and networking. The MSc would be the same. I have 2 years work experience, and some professional qualifications in my field already. Would this be advisable or should I go down the route of let’s say cyber security? I really don’t care about more knowledge… I just would like to make the immigration process easier. I am from the UK, so I’d be looking at positive list / pay limit scheme most likely.

For context, I am looking at general devops roles (cloud architect, Linux sys admins, etc). I know Novo Nordisk has a requirement of MSc on their roles…

It might be more difficult to get a job with a bachelor's only, but it isn't impossible. Once you are in the job market it doesn't matter if you have a masters or not or whatever your masters was about. That is my take although I am not in computer science, but in engineering.

Hello there! I will be coming to Copenhagen for the first time ever in September! I'm super excited as it's been on my bucket list for years however l'm not quite sure what neighborhood I should stay in. I'm a 30F from Chicago and would love to be somewhere near transit and restaurants, I don't need to be in the heart of it all but would like to be close!

Also any recommendations on things to do that aren't super touristy and restaurants/pastry shops would be awesome! I've seen some places on instagram but I trust the locals more!

Places to stay: Vesterbro. Fits your needs as it has excellent transit (central station is there, so is the s-tog, metro, walkable and close to the rest of the city), with a lot of restaurants.

Doing things that aren't super touristy: Just go out and check the other -bro districts like the mentioned Vesterbro, Østerbro, Nørrebro or even Amagerbro. They're really nice but most tourists spend nearly all of their time in Indre By.

The best pastry shop is Juno the bakery, but a lot of "fancy" bakeries exist and generally the quality of pastry in the city is very high.

Hello there, I’m researching a trip to Copenhagen and it seems like best value accommodation is around Vesterbro (as opposed to more central hotels anyway). I’m aware that the red light district is in that general location. As a female traveller that makes me a little uncomfortable but I’ve also read how safe Copenhagen is so maybe it is ignorance on my part. I’d love some locals perspectives on that area and alternative neighbourhoods to consider that are close to the main attractions but reasonably priced and safe. Thank you!

Copenhagen is statistically a very safe city and Vesterbro is no different in that regard. When I was working there you could see kindergarten/school groups walking through Istedgade with no problems.

The red-light district has been shrinking more and more as Istedgade gets more and more gentrified, once you're past Gasværksvej it's basically just hipsters.

There are a few strip clubs around Istedgade and you might see an African prostitute on a street corner, but that’s about it. Vesterbro is an expensive neighbourhood with many families etc.

Vi leder efter en lejlighed, som vi kan bo alene i, med indflytning tidligst 1. juli og senest i starten af december. Vores budget ligger på maks 10,000 kr om måneden, men vi foretrækker selvfølgelig billigere løsninger, hvis det er muligt.

Hi, everyone! I am an incoming PhD candidate at UCPH, and will join the university this fall, and I was hoping someone could help me figure out a few details about the pension plan and the housing situation. Since I am a non-Danish person employed outside of Denmark, do you think it would be best to opt for pension exemption and receive that money in hand every month? Since the rate of taxation is quite high (60%) when it comes to withdrawing the pension fund upon leaving Denmark, I am unsure if opting for pension would be the right choice, since I have family back home and may want to move once I am done with the degree. Also, I am not certain whether the university will help me find any housing, so what do you think would be the best course of action? I will likely have to bear all personal costs for the first month in the city, since the salary will be paid at the end of the month, so I am trying to work around a budget, as personal finances are somewhat tight. I know deposits are very high upon renting, so any alternatives that anyone can suggest to get over the first couple of months? I would like to save a bit and then move to a decent apartment. Any advice/help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated! (PS. I am moving from India.)

Lidkøb, Østerbro for used stuff. Suits are often very good condition as they many not have been used much. There was quite a selection last time I was there, you might find something that fit you for a good price

Try Troelstrup or some of the mall menswear chains (Wagner, Mr, Tøjeksperten, Din Tøjmand, Kaufmann) for cheaper off-the-rack suits. You could also take a look around in Magasin.

Make sure it fits perfectly around your shoulders, back and upper arms. The rest can be adjusted cheaply.

Hi, I am looking for an apartment in CPH and so I bought boligportal for a month in th beginning of may. More than half of it has passed and I havent basically received any leads to any apartment. Just attended 1 open house. Since I receive notifications, I usually to respond to ads in the first 15 minutes after posting and in total have sent around 30 messages. Am I doing something wrong?

In addition to the other answer, make sure you have a prewritten message introducing yourself so you don't just write "Hello I'm interested in the apartment".

Look at areas like Hvidovre, Brønshøj, Søborg, Ballerup, Glostrup etc if you're not finding anything affordable within Copenhagen municipality.

More specific advice: Newsec have lots of flats on their website in Greve (Hundige), Ballerup and Skovlunde within your budget (based on your previous post)

Alternatively living with a roommate (findroommate.dk) can be a nice flexible option until you find something permanent.

15 minutes is probably too long to wait, by the time the person renting has probably received dozens of messages already.

What you can try:

Increase your speed of answering
Increase your budget
Enlarge your search radius
Use all kind of sources besides boligportal, like the sites of Balder, DEAS etc
New apartment project websites, where they rent out freshly built houses

But yeah, the rental market is absolutely insane.

Hello. I'm considering moving to Copenhagen for work with my family (wife and 3 kids). I wanted to ask both locals and expats their opinion on schools, medical care, food, housing, work-life balance and quality of life. I don't know the language and my kids are in grade school.

Why are you moving to Copenhagen? Its a nice place to live but some people have very fairytale impressions of it and then get jaded when reality hits.

Medical care is.. alright. GPs are fairly gatekeepery so if you find a nice one stick to him like bubblegum onto a shoe sole. My impression of hospitals however was fairly good, only have good things to say. Psychiatric care is fairly meh, with extremely long wait times and having to pay extra. Dentists are good but a lot of things are not included so you pay a lot out of pocket or through private insurance.

Food selection is fairly bad, food quality is quite decent (and often times you can't buy the cheap unhealthy versions). There's grocery markets literally everywhere. It depends where you're coming from.

Work-life balance is very good, Danes are pretty adamant about vacation, not bothering people on their days off, leaving work on time etc. There is no hustle culture, and if you show off how hard you work people will look at you in a concerned way asking whether you're alright.

However, finding work for spouses can often times be hard. It's expected that both adults in households work, prices are reflective of that.

The rental market is tough, because everyone wants to move to the same apartments. Maybe with 5 people you actually might be competing for the apartments that are less in demand, but note that these are quite expensive. Buying market is quite ok, prices have gone up the last couple of years but seem to have stagnated a bit recently due to higher interest rates and property taxes.

I'm an immigrant.

The reality is that a lot of things are really nice and top-class here (metro system, admin efficiency and digitization, general level of trust, being able to communicate in English, the harbor areas) but others are fairly average to bad and worse than in other places I lived (weather, supermarkets, ease of forming bonds with locals, amount and availability of jobs in specific fields, urban greenery).

I like living in Copenhagen in general but it hits a lot of points that are important for me better than other places do, depending on your situation it might be the same for you or not. As an example: if you come here to make bank, that will most likely not happen. But for raising kids, I'd say its a better place than most.

Heh, I often use that exact link to prove my point actually :-)

It only has more than average on the "urban green space", it has less than half than average on "urban tree cover". So while Copenhagen has a good amount of admittedly rather nice and well-frequented parks, the average street in Copenhagen is asphalt and pavement. Interestingly, if you look at pictures from the air, there's quite a lot of trees in the city, but a lot of them are in private yards. I love going through those whenever there's an opportunity, because they're often very nice.

It's easy to forget, but when a friend pointed out how much more greenery you can find in other cities it's hard to unsee. The average street looks more like the "before trees" picture on this PDF from the municipality about the planning plan. On the positive, it's fairly easy to get access to the planning policies of the municipality, like this one, and I use that quite frequently.

But whether all of this is even a concern for OP is for them to decide.

Doesn't matter really, public transport is pretty good and fast. Pick Indre By or Vesterbro as these have the most hotels and are central.

I don't think there's a shop selling such a thing. Using bells is even rare, so such a horn would be perceived as extremely passive-aggressive. Or just plain aggressive tbh. Knock yourself out, Amazon has an electronic one, probably your best bet as the ship/truck horns sound the way due to their size and the volume of air they shift, so unless you want to transport your ship horn in a Christiania bike, that's your best bet I'd guess.

UCPH Housing - BaseCamp vs Signalhuset

Hej! I will be studying abroad the University of Copenhagen (KU) this coming fall and I’m currently looking for housing. My program recommends renting through the Housing Foundation, although I’ve seen some pretty horrid reviews — but it seems risky to go through Facebook groups and not living with students seems like it can be isolating. I do value having a social atmosphere and getting to explore the city!

The only two reasonable options through the Housing Foundation seems to either be BaseCamp in Copenhagen City or Signalhusset (many of the other forms require staying for two terms, which I cannot do). I will be studying at the South Campus, so they’re both a similar distance from my classes. I would either be in a shared studio or single studio at BaseCamp or a single room in an apartment at Signalhusset.

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with either of these accommodations and what your thoughts are.

Hello everyone. I'm currently employed at a large company in Denmark under a working visa. However, I've been approached by someone who is interested in hiring me as a personal secretary, offering a significantly higher salary than my current job. This individual is a Swiss citizen looking to formalize her residency in Denmark and ensure proper tax compliance, as she was previously unaware of the requirements.

My question is: Would I be able to continue residing in Denmark under a new work visa if I were to work as a personal assistant for a Swiss citizen?

I know someone who came to denmark from india working as a scrum master for novo, so that's what on her work permit. She then got a promotion to product owner. She contacted immigration authorities, who confirmed that since the new work is close enough to the old work (managing people to create a product) then it doesn't matter

so you becoming the PS of someone shouldn't matter, if your original work permit is for something similar enough - I'm assuming any flavor of office-working paper pusher should suffice

I think this is more of a question to SIRI than random redditors. If you work for a foreign entity, you'd probably need to create your own company and be self-employed (as there's only somewhat reasonable solutions between Skåne and Copenhagen to work in one place and live in the other), but then you need to do also your tax and administration paperwork.

Can you do that with your visa? You'd have to check, but I would assume that your visa only covers being employed by a company.

Since two years, I (25M) am thinking of moving in Denmark, especially in Copenhagen, to begin my career with a French Engineer Degree in Industry, I was wondering whats the job market is like, is it possible to begin a career there. I started to learn Danish, I have experiences as project engineer in EHS, and I am used to relocate since I switching of country every year since 3 years. I felt happy in your city when I visited it and I would like to know more about danish culture and way of life.

What kind of engineer? I think to get started with no experience and no network in the city would be rather difficult, unless it is an industry with lack of local labor force.

Copenhagen often feels like a village where everyone knows everyone else so getting a referral from someone working at the place counts for a lot.

It's french degree so like everything french it's sucks outside of the country, it's called "Arts & Métiers", basically everything from Mechanic, to Electricity, to Transportation. I've had a one year experience in project management in sustainability projects as an internship.

I tried to contact Alumni from my university but it is seens as unfair to do this for a french person so I didn't had a lot of answers.

Also, are french appriciated (or at least not hated) in Denmark ? I mean I've lived in several countries (Spain, Germany, England) and I often heard people having a lot to say against the french (but me it's ok because i'm their friends haha). I can understand why but that's a bit tough to deal with it everyweeks. Pure curiosity question.

French are not hated one bit - though you will likely become your co-worker's go-to guy for questions about wine.

As for work, that'll be a lot more tricky. Engineering degrees in DK are all focused on something... chemical, mechanical, software, electrical engineering - a lot of employers might look at your education and be a bit confused at what you can do, and that's rarely a good thing.

I don't think they're hated. I have a bunch of French friends but they have also extensive experience living abroad so they are not "stereotypically French". There's not many French people here so I also guess that most people don't have that much experience with French and no particular opinion on them.

But do note that there will probably be some cultural divergence in e.g. as structured people like things to be.

So you have a 3-year, non-BSc, non-specialized engineering degree? I think that will be hard in a country where everyone has a specialized 5-year university education. Here are the MSc’s offered at DTU, and you’ll notice they are all split into further specialized study lines.

But there are plenty of openings for project managers, analysts and the like at e.g. Novo Nordisk, so take a look on LinkedIn for listings :)

No I have a master but it’s says on the diploma « Generalist », in France engineering school are done in three years after the prepa where you learn everything in Maths and Physics. That leads to some kind of confusions outside the country and so I think you are right it might be difficult in Denmark to compete in front of specialised graduated. If it’s too complicated I might try to gain some experiences and then try after.

Trains are every 20 minutes in each direction and it is not possible to reserve a seat. You simply buy your ticket just before you board the train, and if there are no free seats then you have to stand. It basically works just like the metro.

You can't buy advance (single ride) tickets, they're automatically valid the moment you buy them. Unlike other places there is no separate "validation" step.

If you use the Skånetrafiken app you can buy a ticket in the app and activate it whenever you need it. Why you would do this instead of buying as needed I don't know, but the option is there :)

Because on the app, if you are two or more people travelling together, and you buy a joint ticket, you receive a 25 percent discount within Skåne and a 20 percent discount to Denmark.

Plus it's just one less thing to worry about, and if you're carrying luggage it's easier to activate the ticket on the app.

I'm a little confused when searching about moving to Denmark. As non EU the websites say I need a CPR number to get an address to rent, but also then it says I can't get a CPR number without an address. Am I misunderstanding the information and can someone explain clearer or clarify? Thanks

You don't technically need a CPR to rent a place, but you need an address to get a CPR. The problem is that many landlords want a CPR for, whatever reason, so it's a chicken and egg problem. You specifically need to find a place where the landlord is ok renting to you without you giving them your CPR number.

Its a bit different if you're born here because you immediately get a CPR and are registered at their parents address. No need to start looking for apartments the moment you're born.

I don't think the bit about a temporary CPR is true. There was some talk about universities giving CPR numbers, but these are just made-up numbers and not valid for the adminstration. It's as if I gave you a CPR, which I can easily do, but it's not registered to you.

Do you know anywhere where I can go for landlords who are friendly for non CPR? I'm a Brit who is potentially moving to Denmark.

No idea. I could imagine private landlords that don't have a big renters database could be more understanding. I suppose renting a room for starters could be a simpler way to get a CPR registration, as you really just need the address once.

When I was trying to rent with Balder they almost cancelled my contract because I didn't supply my CPR in time (because the municipality was supposed to send it and it got lost in the mail or something).

Yes, definitely. You don't need to live in Copenhagen to get a CPR.

Ah, interesting, have never heard of that (and didn't get this offered when I signed up in Denmark). However do note that they also call it a "administrativt personnummer" and not a CPR, so I assume it works for the cases that are mentioned there but could be problematic e.g.

This temporary CPR is just because AU's databases apparently can't deal with people that don't have a CPR (PRIMARY KEY constraint in SQL for example), so they make up a CPR. It's about as valid as these technically valid CPR numbers.

May be a dumb question: We are from the US traveling from Copenhagen to Stockholm via train (and then back to CPH before flying home). Do we/how do we get a stamp in our passport or is it just checked by border control on the train? We switch trains in Malmö.

This is not entirely correct. Despite both Schengen and the Nordic Passport Union, Sweden has upheld “temporary” border control ever since 2015. The way it works is that every 6 months Sweden applies to the EU for an exemption from the Schengen-rules.

I was recently accepted into a master's program at the university of copenhagen and i'd need to support my cost of living somehow. Some background: I am from the US but I have an EU passport through Finland so tuition is free but I'd need support covering the cost of living. I'm happy to work part time and take out loans. Eligibility for SU loans is based on 10 weeks of continuous employment at 10-12 hours a week. My question is how difficult is it to get a job that would fulfil those requirements considering I only speak English (and some Finnish and Spanish)? I have experience in customer service jobs, but no real restaurant or bartending experience.

And if anyone has any experience with anything related to any of this, I am happy to hear your thoughts or any advice on any/all of it.

Hey, I will be in Copenhagen for 8 days, my fiancé and me will get married there. Just wanted to ask about the best/cheapest way to use the public transport during this time, as our hotel is about 10-15m from the city centre with the Metro. Besides the Copenhagen Card there is also the cheaper City Pass. That said, if the only time you use the ticket will be from the hotel to the city center I think single tickets will be cheaper. The center is pretty walkable and even if you go further out you can use the metro just fine to come back to the city.

The Copenhagen Card is in my opinion only worth it if you're going to visit a big, big amount of museums. Entrance for museums is about 120kr per person, so you can calculate it. I usually only recommend it if you want a solution where you don't have to worry about tickets, but not really to save money.

Another option is to use the Copenhagen Card but only a shorter one, e.g. compress all your museum visits to one or two days. Nevertheless, I think it'll be tricky to actually save money with it.

Cheapest/Best would be walking/biking. You only really need public transit, if you are in a rush and need to cross the city (e.g. Østerbro/Nordhavn to Vesterbro or something like this).

Personally, I think CPH is super walkable. So it depends on how your time is and what you have planned. If you have a packed schedule, then you may want to consider renting a bike to maximize time at locations (like museums, food, attractions).

Paracetamol is over the counter medicine in Denmark and reasonably cheap, with the eyedrops you'd need to check what you need though I doubt that that's going to be a problem.

SIM cards in Denmark are one of the few things that are both (relatively) cheap and fairly good (good speeds, a lot of data). You can even get a free SIM card on the airport and top it up with however much money you need.

If you're just staying for a limited time probably something prepaid like Lyca makes the most sense.

There's 3 networks in Denmark, within Copenhagen they're all pretty much the same quality. I use Three and get 5G reception in most of the city, I assume if you use TT or TDC the experience is probably comparable.

Probably depends on the course, but I think you'll be okay.

Yes, quite. CBS has a looooot of programmes taught exclusively in English, even the bachelors which is unusual compared to other universities in Denmark. And if you're attending summer school (seems like it) it'll be even more international.

The alternative is to take an S-train from Sydhavn Station to the central station (2 stops), and then take a regional train to the airport (3 stops). It's about half an hour, plus however long it takes you to walk to the station.

A paper ticket (3 zones) is 30kr.

Anyway, looking at Rejseplanen, the first train connections on Monday from Sydhavn Station to CPH Lufthavn start at 05:19; at 05:49 is an E-train from Sydhavn to Nørreport and from there the M2 metro. The former arrives before 6, the latter 6:15.

That's perfectly fine, and the easier option as all the metro trains from the airport go to Nørreport. The airport metro station is on the floor *above* where you exit the luggage collection area.

You might also see suggested journeys with a regional train from the airport, then changing at the central station (København H or København Hovedsbanegården). Regional trains from the airport depart from the floor *below* where you exit after picking up luggage.

Either way is fine, it's the same ticket either way and the journey time is about the same.

It very depends on your job and what you spend your money on. It's good for IT and ok for a lot of other professions

I can't compare to Greece. Its probably way less spontaneaous, but a lot of things are happening in the city, especially in summertime And a lot of events also happen in English, because basically every Dane speaks very good to excellent English.

Would I be able to find an English speaking job in my field?

Sales? I think that would be a bit hard, since a lot of your potential clients would be Danish-speaking. Not impossible (international sales) but companies will probably prefer someone who speaks the local language.

How is the healthcare system?

Better than people complain about but always worse than one would hope for :)

Do you need a car to move around? whats preferred?

No, it's preferred not to have a car. Cars are expensive and make the city a worse place. It's a small place with pretty good public transport and an extensive network of cycling lanes, I can get most places within the city faster than I could by car.

How hard is it to learn Danish?

If you know German, it's ok, you get a ton of vocabulary nearly for free. The hardest part is to speak and understand (and be understood).

What's life like for a singe woman there?

Gender equality is pretty high and Danish women are pretty independent so I don't think it would be worse than for a single man. That said, I haven't tried being a single woman.

Frederiksberg has the best parks (Frederiksberg Have and Søndermarken). Reffen food market is also a nice short bike ride away.

If you're on bikes and don't mind a longer ride a bit off the beaten path, you can try riding through Kalvebod Fælled. Another option is finding the Thomas Dambo trolls (this will usually take you through/to interesting places).

Hi, the deer park out at Klampenborg is a lovely place for a walk. There are around 2,000 wild roe, sika and fallow deer roaming around and a very good chance of spotting white deer. There's a lot more information here in this link. The park, Jægersborg Dyrehavn in Danish,is at the end of S train line C heading to Klampenborg so you can't get lost. There's Bellevue Beach on one side and the deer park on the other. It really is a lovely place for a walk.

Baisikeli seems to be run by decent people. They donate bikes to Africa and hire unhoused people for their shops.

Alternatively Fri BikeShop NV and Fri BikeShop Østerbrogade offer rentals if you want to rent from an established chain.

Swapfiets is mostly useful for longer stays.

Many people, at least here on reddit, have raised concerns about cycling rules etc. From what I have read the tl:dr is that one should keep to the right and be considerate and use hand signals.

My question is should I enrol for a bike tour or something similar on my first day just to get familiar with rules? I would be thrilled if there are any interesting city bike tours that are anyway worth going on

You'll be fine as long as you don't randomly zigzag or brake. It's a lot like driving a car in rush-hour traffic.

Commuting 12 km each way on a heavy rental bike as an inexperienced cyclist probably won't be a very nice experience. That's 240 km in two weeks! You risk arriving to work tired and sweaty after 45 minutes of fighting a headwind.

Where are you commuting to and from? Is public transport an option?

Basically, you need layers. The weather can really do anything at any time of the year, and forecasts are never accurate. They are even less reliable when they are longer-range forecasts. I would bring a raincoat, waterproof shoes, an umbrella, and warm clothes that you can take on and off as necessary. Unfortunately, the weather is very unpredictable. Have fun in Copenhagen.

So in theory yes, it takes about 15 minutes to take the metro to the city center and you can find a bunch of nice bakeries there as well as hit Krigsmuseet (your intuition is right, -et and -en are definite article suffixes).

The main limiting factor would probably be passport control and potentially security (you can check how long queues are for security on the website of the airport).

The city center is only 15 minutes from the airport by metro so you should be okay for a short visit, especially if you don’t have to recheck your luggage. You can keep up with security waiting times on cph.dk.

However note that most museums open at 10 so you probably won’t have time for more than a quick museum visit.

[About Sick Leave]

A sick leave

So I went to the doctor to get checked and ask for a sick note as my work requires it after a few days and I wanted to have it before I reach that date.

At the doctor's they told me is the company who needs to ask for it and pay for it, otherwise it has to be me to carry all that.

My company told me I'm the one who has to ask for it, pay for it, and then they will reimburse me the amount the next paycheck.

But also at the doctors they told me I can go to work as long as I do low impact stuff(Which is not possible at my workplace) due to my injury.

So I'm wondering even if I ask for the note, will they give me something that allows me to stay and heal? My workplace said there is no issue me staying home the days i need, but it's the doctors note that worries me since they said i can work.

Would be the first time ever I ask for one so I don't even know what it says there.
