I kind of feel like it is Minato. No clan background or any special powers that were given to him, no crazy genetical advantages...
What do you think?
I kind of feel like it is Minato. No clan background or any special powers that were given to him, no crazy genetical advantages...
What do you think?
Yes
This is da wae
My brotha
Minato and orochimaru are tied imo.
Both came from a fuck ass known clan without any abilities that come from it. Minato was just some next level thing, became the youngest hokage iirc, learned one of the most busted techniques in the shinobi world, singlehandedly within a minute learned the trick to obitos MS, stopped the attack and sealed a full power 9T within himself and the other half in naruto. Dude aced all chuunin exams.
Orochimaru learned so many jutsu and transcended humanity really. He quite literally studied so much about the biology and how stuff works in the world through experiments he created a semi-karma with his Curse mark. He is immortal, we saw him get killed twice and he came back to life regardless. I have no idea how he got his snake abilities, safe to say he studied/trained with the sage snakes but as far as we know he never got snake sage transformation which if he did… he would’ve been a War arc kabuto level threat or higher.
They’re all prodigies in their own rights, but idk these 2 just don’t have anything backing them genetically. Itachi and Sasuke are uchihas, Boruto is the son of pretty much Jesus, kakashi is the son of someone compared to the sannin in strength. These 2 are simply born from no special clan and were such prodigies they are up there at the top of the verse
kakashi is the son of someone compared to the sannin in strength
Didn't remember that, I guess he was nerfed for plot reasons. His chakra was always low, and his sharingan was degrading because it was incomplete and borrowed.
I think it was explained that Kakashi wasn’t doing anything besides missions that were below his level/ didn’t allow for him to exercise his chakra before the show since he was rusty against Zabuza.
Yeah that's kinda why Boruto Kakashi might actually be stronger since Kakashi actual has massive charka pool it's just the sharingan really drained alot
His chakra was always low because he couldn't deactivate the Sharingan.
Shouldn't went to Tsunade for help and got a hyuuga for some of that eye of insight.
Kakashi spent his time learning how to master the Sharingan and was also suffering from depression due to losing everyone he was close to (he mentioned this to Sasuke just before the Sound 4 met Sasuke). Kakashi after the war arc began training again and is Kage tier; he’s stronger than his war arc self.
"I'm going to kill everyone you care about!"
"Everyone I care about is dead"
As a child with undiagnosed childhood depression, I thought that was cool and edgy AF. As an adult with multiple mental illnesses rewatching, made me sad.
Agreed
Hiruzen is the youngest Hokage lol He was a teenager while Minato was in his 20’s.
Boruto was stated to be a prodigy amongst prodigies. He also hasn’t shown anything crazy chakra wise; his skills while not even applying himself was already top notch. Training with Sasuke for 3 years has him stronger than anyone from Shippuden lol
Ah was it hiruzen? I wasn’t really sure but he’s definitely one of the youngest in the verse.
And yeah Boruto is a prodigy but look at his bloodline, hyuga/uzumaki, father 9T jinchuuriki and has so6p chakra, he was bound to be a monster. Minato on the other hand didn’t have anything like that as far as we know which imo is a big part of being a prodigy. No genetics, no kekkei genkai, no insane clan background, just being born different.
Even Boruto is using the jutsu minato made his flagship the flying raijin and Boruto praises how good minato’s was by saying it’s not as good as his, Boruto uses the jutsu minato created all by himself that being the rasengan. Not even mentioning the fact Minato’s teacher ended up being Minato’s disciple due to how much of a prodigy he was.
I like Boruto as a character and he’s in my top 5 Naruto franchise characters, but his was more genetics (and the fact he is now literally an otsusuki) rather than pure, talent/being a prodigy like minato was.
Orochimaru did search out and find Ryuchi cave. He tried sage mode but couldn't master it.
I think i agree with you there.
Orochimaru stated that Sasuke is more of a genius than him
Bro put shade on the uzumaki name. Minato was one of the last surviving members of a race of people who had enough Chakra to just kinda spam mini nukes.
I’d say Orochimaru . Yes he’s a villain, can’t deny his brilliance. His curse marks function similar to Otsuski Karma. Honestly all of them are great. Minato is a genius. He created Rasengan based on witnessing a tailed beast bomb. His academy stats and war arc feats are also amazin.
We literally know next to nothing bout kid orochimaru
True, we do know of his accomplishments as an adult though. I freely admit Boruto has a higher ceiling than anyone on this list.
True enough but Hiruzen said that he was 1 in a 100 years genius.
Also I bet none of the other characters actually knows how to kill him for real
Sasuke is more of a genius than Orochimaru
Choji
Spit my drink. Take my upvote.
Boruto by far. Before learning from sasuke, he was completely self taught except for gentle fist. This means that he learned the shadow clone jutsu by himself even before he joined the academy, and he did that without training. In the academy he learned wind release by watching mitsuki do it, has such a strong lightning release affinity that he easily learned it by himself (learning 2 chakra natures is a jonin level feat amd he learned them by himself). It was shown multiple times that he can effortlessly find his own way of doing basically anything, be it learning new jutsu, solving complex equations, etc... He got max score on the academy written exam. He was easily chunin level in the academy, said by kakashi himself, and he was at that level with no proper training or motivation. And he did all this before he even became a GENIN. He learned the rasengan in 3 days, could throw it, and added lightning release to it instinctively (his lightning affinity is that strong), essentially creating a new rasengan. He became insanely good at shurikenjutsu after training with sasuke for just a few weeks. In the manga, in the very first chapter he already has 3 chakra natures (in the anime he only learned water by the ao arc). After finding his motivation, and developing his ninja way, he started training seriously and became qenuinly op, especially for his age. In the second manga canon arc, he beat shojoji, an elite jonin level character with minimal help from someone who's not even a ninja. In the anime, he created 2 more rasengan variants in just a few days, with kakashi only giving him vague hints, so he had 4 different types of rasengan, 3 of which he created himself. In the third manga canon arc, he outperformed 2 elite jonin and basically 1v1-d ao, a former mizukage guard, easily making him high jonin or (most likely) higher level at the age of 12. This battle is the best display of his insane battle iq. By this arc, he learned purple lightning (this was in the first databook, sasuke also mentioned that boruto knows it in a novel, and mitsuki also used it in this arc in the manga), yet another at least A rank jutsu. In the battle against boro (an otsutsuki level character) he managed to inflict several otherwise fatal wounds, if it wasn't for boro's regeneration. After this battle, we can pretty comfortably put him on kage level, still at the age of 12, and in base. His base power level didn't improve that much after this until the end of nng.
In tbv we learned that by the time he was 13, he learned everything sasuke could teach him, and sasuke called him a genius (which both sasuke and kakashi said multiple times). This might mean that he now knows all 5 chakra natures. By the time he was 15 he mastered all of the things sasuke taught him, and learned his own version of flying raijin that can teleport between dimensions. He also became the strongest shinobi who ever lived aside from baryon mode naruto, and he's only 15 and it's just the start of tbv, and we haven't even seen him use his karma yet.
Great wall. They really gave boruto everything and more it's insane. Genius human, ototsuki body, karma, Sasuke and Minato trademarks and byakugan and its evolution like bruh 💀
Well, he doesn't have the Byakugan, and most of his feats are things he did without even using the Jougan or his Karma seal. He's just a genius. People tend to try and discredit him because he's Naruto's son, but Boruto doesn't have any of the things that made Naruto as powerful as he is, outside of his determination.
Tbf he does work his butt off. He trains a lot, at first for fun but after the movie arc because of his resolve, and the anime shows that he still gets majorly bodied but he keeps learning from it. That’s honestly why I love how the anime fleshes out these training arcs and shows him struggling and learning.
Like Fabulous Ad said, he has a natural talent and high battle IQ, but the techniques and the abilities he uses are honed from all his hard work and knack for experimentation. The novel states that he trained a lot with Hinata when he was young (which is why his fighting style in the early anime was very Hyuga-esque) and learned the rest from constantly watching his dad and the other ninjas.
Boruto deserves the praise after all his hard work and everything he’s been through, just as much as Naruto did. Yeah, he had a lot of good mentors, but he absorbs things a lot better because he’s consistently desperate to learn and become stronger, first to earn Naruto’s respect and escape his shadow, and now to protect the ones he cares about.
💀 bro cooked
Damn bro. I can’t lie you changed my mind
Well said.
Finally someone actually decides to be honest about Boruto. So many people are trying to discredit him, but he's likely the most talented shinobi ever.
Dont forget water style. He also learned it who knows when and how lol
I said that in the manga he already knew it in chapter 1, but in the anime he didn't learn it until the ao arc
Cook my guy 🔥
Yes my brother, keep cooking!
kage at 12 hell no Learning two Nature is jonin ? So kid Sasuke jonin level ?
Apparently Kid Sasuke was stated to have the power of a Jonin at the end of part 1 if you’d believe it.
It's stated that having 2 chakra natures is only expected of someone who's at least jonin.
No, it was stated that Jounins usually have at least 2 chakra network; not that you need to be a Jounin to have 2. Haku was Chunin tier and he had 2 chakra networks. Boruto had 3 when Kakashi stated Boruto’s skills were that of a Chunin right out of the ninja academy.
Yeah. That's some really strong plot armor.
Bro do you even know what plot armor is
And this just spelled out why Boruto bugs me so much; should have just named him "Mary Sue."
Yess great write up!
Only thing is I think Boro is more akatusiki level then Otsutsuiki
Im gonna use what we know about them from kids to genin.
My first place is Kakashi for obvious reasons. My last place is Orochimaru because we really don't know a lot about his life as a kid. We know Orochimaru was considered a young genius like most of the others on this list but I feel like he's done and experienced the least at this age.
Boruto reached beyond Jonin-level at the age of 12 (even higher than Kakashi at that age). He also actually managed to achieve an elemental Rasengan (which Kakashi failed at). (without relying on Karma at all, just in base), surpassing legendary Ninjas who were far far more talented and powerful than Kakashi ever was.
I don't think Kakashi being #1 makes much sense given Boruto's astronomically higher feats and potential.
Keep in mind that Kakashi grew in an era of war which pushed him into fulfilling his highest potential at an early age. Boruto was a privileged brat who had no reason to try hard at all. Their childhood years aren't ground for comparison when Kakashi was constantly fighting for his life while Boruto was just feasting on burgers.
BASED.
Always going with Itachi
It's Boruto and it's not close. He's by far the most genetically gifted and was stated by Kakashi to have inherited Minato's ingenuity.
That's precisely what I was just saying. People refuse to see the truth when it's right in front of them🙄
Yellow Flash!
Boruto was making his own moves without even knowing he was making his own moves then he made uzhiko too.
Minato is a good 2nd
Kakashi, Minato and Orochimaru are above the rest for coming from a non-prestigious clan with no Kekkei Genkai, no OP bloodline and so on.
True. But going by the same logic, what about Orochimaru ? We can't discount him. He's not from a reputed clan, h€¢k, we don't even know what clan he belongs to & all the things he accomplished, he's basically unkillable. He's the most OP character in the series.
Potential? Probably Itachi. ANBU at 13, intelligent enough to discover Obito, and is dangerous enough that even Kakashi didn’t feel confident in taking him on. Probably could’ve done much more if the Uchiha didn’t try to start a civil war and had a mentor to actually cultivate him.
Actually reaching that potential? Boruto, Orchimaru, Sasuke in no particular order.
This is considering their child/pre teen selves. Sasuke was a relatively late bloomer despite still being considered a genius prodigy. We don't really know much about Orochimaru's childhood strength but I just put him below Sasuke considering how much he was glazing Sasuke in the early parts of the show.
Minato and Itachi have the most impressive feats as a child. Minato solo'd an entire squad of probably at least chuunin and jonins to rescue Kushina as a genin. Itachi has all sorts of feats as a child (Anbu captain, etc.) and was hailed as like the ultimate super prodigy so I put him on par with Minato. Shisui is probably near Itachi too but we just have more concrete stuff about Itachi.
Kakasi is also clearly below the top people and clearly above Sasuke at the same age as children.
Boruto era just powercreeped everything. Even before Karma hax Boruto's child feats were ridiculous. Having multiple elemental releases, learning the Rasengan in one day AND subconsciously putting an elemental release on it. Something Minato or Kakashi were never able to accomplish their entire life (tho tbf Minato probably would have done it eventually if he didn't die so young.) Kakashi even said Boruto was already at or above Chuunin level during the GENIN exam in the anime.
I would probably put Minato and Shisui above goat of the Uchiha.
Boruto learned sasukes entire arsenal in a few years and even before karma according to sasuke he already had the potential to surpass naruto
Tbh I’d say Shisui or Boruto. Shisui was 15 and had grown men pissing themselves. Boruto’s one of those characters that’s too smart probably for his own good.
I'd put Shisui over Itachi. In their sparring matches Itachi had only won 1 fight.
Boruto. 100%
Boruto is the biggest prodigy, by feats and facts
If Sasuke is there then Naruto belongs there. Was one of the fastest to learn the rasengan, the first to add chakra nature to a rasengan, summoning jutsu and mastered multi-shadow clone jutsu which was a forbidden jutsu. Thats all with Kurama messing with his chakra. Minato is the most impressive of all them imo
Yall putting orochimaru at the bottom are crazy. He’s easily the most intelligent of them all
The strongest among them is Boruto, but if we’re going on how strong they are as kids, it’s either Shisui or Minato
I mean in pure intellect and ability to gain knowledge probably orochimaru. In pure battle power prodigy I’m prolly gonna go itachi.
boruto.mastered rasengan in like 3 days nd created his own on accident
because of that one comment, i say boruto
Oro is the original rags to riches story of the verse. He clears.
Boruto and its free. I'm a kind of a boruto hater, but his talent is undeniable. Lets start with before all the karma nonsense. He doesn't have any of the amps inherent to being part uzumaki or hyuuga. No byakugan, no massive chakra pool, no adamantite chains etc. He did not train, or even care much about any of this ninja stuff until like midway through the exams. And all of this is happening DURING PEACE TIME where there is really no expectation to improve and people are constantly saying ninjas are losing their purpose in the world.
Despite all of that he is probably at about max proficiency in gentle fist that you can be without a byakugan. This is the only thing that he was trained on at this point. He mastered shadow clones just by watching naruto do it. He learned 2-3 nature releases on his own. Combined these into his own signature jutsu (boruto stream). And all of this was before leaving the academy, and again without really practicing at all. Kakashi was saying hes probably already at a chuunin level skillwise. After this, he got a perfect score on the written exams, learned uchiha shurikenjutsu and mastered the rasengan in 3 days which implies perfected chakra control. Not only that but he FINISHED The rasengan as well by infusing it with lightning release. The thing kakashi never figured out how to do and minato never had the time to do. just casually by accident because he was such a generational lightning release user. (Headcanon but i bet the reason it took him 3 days was probably because he was instinctively trying to infuse it the whole time without realizing it, so he skipped straight to the final step in one go.)
And then they gave him alien god powers, so now hes finally experiencing any amount of hardship and actually training seriously. From there, he invents a form of rasengan that can kill otsutsuki, masters everything sasuke had to teach him, and becomes the third flying raijin user. And he still isnt actually using the Karma, and is instead focusing entirely on things he just learned how to do over time.
Dude is a freak of nature even before accounting for the karma. Give it 2 chapters, hes gonna have all 5 natures with yin yang and yinyang release, be a perfect sage, have summoning contracts with snakes and toads for some reason and mastery over the jougan.
He's truly way better at this than he has any right to be, and if u just compare how fast he progressed before and after locking in i dont see anyone on this list out prodigying him except MAYBE orochimaru if we ever find out what he was up to in childhood
Id rank them Boruto, Minato, Itachi, Orochimaru, Kakashi, Shisui, Sasuke. This is ranking them based off of how talented they were as children including intelligence and capabilities/feats. Honestly it's weird d for me to put Orochimaru there without knowing more about his childhood but he was so smart as an adult I would assume he was just as prodigious as Minato and Itachi but without as much info that makes me put him third in that trifecta. Kakashi was a beast but not as capable as Itachi and Minato as a kid, just slightly worse IMO, still a major force to be reckoned with. Boruto is just crazy talented naturally especially when he puts the work in and even when he doesn't he shows it. Sasuke was amazing but I just don't think as kid he was on the levels some of the others are. Shisui was good but we didn't see enough about him, yet seeing as Itachi praised him and he was well known I would put him a bit above Sasuke and possibly even Kakashi but I don't have enough info to put him above Kakashi.
Minato easily
For me - Minato - Orochimaru - Kakashi
All of then are Kage level or superior and none of them had any bullshit asspull genetic power (at least not initially for Kakashi lol)
Probably between Boruto, Minato, and Itachi then
Shisui
Sasuke
Kakashi
Orochimaru
Itachi and Minato. Boruto too probably
Minato Shisui Itachi Orochimaru Kakashi Boruto Sasuke
It’s boruto
Shisui
if we get same logic you did, we may goes to orochi, wich stay alive after many big stuffs btw
Boruto man. The manga is seriously getting so great! The fact that he learned Flying Raijin and made the Rasengan Uzuhiko are proof.
Why are they staring at me 🫣
Boruto :(
Probably Orochimaru. If not him, Minato. We don't even know those guys' clans gimmick. They're the only ones in this list that didn't come from an already gifted family, and they ended up being fucking monsters.
So you need either a good clan or a good teacher
minato may not have any real op clan ties from birth but he does have the “golden child” prophecy thing going already.basically soon as he saved kushina he started learning uzumaki seal since at least 11 and got trained from jiraiya by 13+.
Orochimaru Minato Kakashi
Prodigies without any kekai genkais or hax powers. They may have got some later, but they were prodigies without them.
All of them
I think Boruto
I would say Kakashi given how many techniques he has managed to duplicate. Think about how much time went into developing and learning techniques that he is able to master or improve at a glance. It's too bad his body gives out after a couple of battles otherwise he'd be insanely powerful.
Boruto look what this kid accomplished in 3 years compared to everyone
Truthfully boruto. Minato, shisui and itachi. But I guess shisui takes the edge over itachi slightly
With genetics Boruto, without genetics Minato.
1.Itachi/Minato 2. shisui/Orochimaru (we don't know enough) 3. kakashi 4.botuto(talented, but jut insanely gifted)
Isn't Itachi also insanely gifted?🤨
What do you think prodigy is?
current manga, not even a debate its boruto
Boruto
None then like my boy Naruto. Got it out the mud
I'd vote Minato in terms of the raw potential he displayed and the intellect he had, also considering he alone, among all of these shinobi, lacked kekkei genkai at any point in his life (Orochimaru is also up there, but his real advancements came from utilizing others powers to advance himself, still very respectable).
Boruto, technically, is probably a mile above these guys, but it's always bugged me that it was more plot convenient abilities given to him than showing him as an analytical thinker.
I think the authors forcefully trying to balance Boruto out as a genius, but with Naruto's brashness and demeanor, kind of hurt the integrity of his intelligence, with his abilities seeming more plot contrived, although he is seen as an insanely gifted shinobi in-world.
Personally, my vote's on Minato in terms of showing that genius with what he lacked in kekkei genkai. Essentially he was an extremely efficient shinobi that mastered all common skills he was given and hyper optimized his skillset to minimize preparation time.
I think it also speaks volumes to Minato's intelligence when we see an older Boruto adopt Minato's fighting style of Rasengan and Flying Raijin to achieve the same lightweight and efficient but powerful fighting style that Minato cultivated.
I think the authors forcefully trying to balance Boruto out as a genius, but with Naruto's brashness and demeanor, kind of hurt the integrity of his intelligence, with his abilities seeming more plot contrived, although he is seen as an insanely gifted shinobi in-world
I feel like what you describe here was only really an issue in part 1 of Boruto. The anime did a great job balancing Borutos genius and Naruto's brashness. The manga,at least part 1,not so much.
TBV however is very different. At least when it comes to intelligence, Boruto and how he is currently portrayed fits better.
Oro not even close
He created a jutsu that gives you immortality and you can take over others peoples bodies and gain there shit too
Kakashi. Orochimaru and Minato are close 2nd and 3rd (in whatever order).
Himawari
Haha. No.
Boruto
has to be boruto now, all those feats are not from his karma
minato or orochimaru
Boruto for me😁
Minato followed by orochi>>>>>>>>>>>>>the rest
Boruto
Why is Boruto included in this lists he's kindergarten level compared to them
Haha. It's rather the other way around.
Definitely Boruto, but just because he NEEDS to be op - I mean, he's fighting alien gods.
Boruto
Minato
Orochimaru
Itachi
Kakashi
Sasuke
Shisui (could definitely be up to Itachi's level or slightly higher, but I feel like we didn't get to see enough in the story for me to be 100% sure. regardless each of these dudes are tanks)
Hard to compare Boruto or Shisui to characters like Minato and Orochimaru. Boruto and Shisui have no adult feats, we don't know how strong they'd be by the time they're Minato's age during the third war. Likewise, we have very few feats from Minato and Orochimaru before adulthood. Just that Minato had good exam stats and created rasengan. Characters who have mostly been seen as adults are hard to scale against kids when referring to how much of a prodigy they are, adult feats have had more time to be honed and perfected. I think Boruto is 100000% surpassing Minato in every regard, but we have never seen Boruto at Minato's third war age, nor have we seen TBV Boruto at his genuine limit.
It’s just boruto plain and simple, the stuff he can do without any training blows past half the list. Then look at him in TBV, his skills are clearly above all others in totality.
Before Naruto's era, it's easily Minato and Orochimaru
Afterwards it's Boruto
The one who can throw a rasengan without sage art
where is neji hyuuga?
Probably orochimaru. His influence over kabuto more or less started the great ninja war lol.
Boruto no diff, base tbv boruto is stronger than everyone in this list at their peaks
Prodigy can be defined many of ways. It depends what you’re looking for.
But for me and my personal opinion of “prodigy”
Sasuke > Kakashi > Boruto
Sasuke was the last of his Legendary clan, had the weight of the world on his shoulders and was a gigachad at a young age. Also the Indra/Ashura stuff he was literally a “Chosen One” in a way.
Shisui. He was already fighting in the war and had the MS at 8 years old
It has to be indra
I'd probably say Minato, especially considering he didn't come from a broken lineage, but Itachi was pretty damn gifted even without his Uchiha advantages. Kakashi was really gifted as well.
Minato/itachi out of these two
All of them
Boruto dude created one of the most complex jutsu in verse(uzuhiko) and recreated ftg
All at that age? Maybe Shisui/Itachi? I feel like those two in particular were billed as child prodigies more than the rest were. Not saying they turned out stronger than the others. But as kids these two were just different. Source: Vibes.
Boruto = Minato imo. Boruto is deadass "what if Minato was born in the new generation"
True and I love it.😁
Minato
Boruto. Why is this even a question? Boruto is destroying every last other person in this list in they’re prime while he is 15-16 😂
Minato imo. Sure, Itachi was a highly skilled Ninja, but what really made him dangerous was his Mongekyō Sharingan + his IQ. From a pure talent perspective, Minato is absolutely the best here. He didn’t come from some renowned clan, nor did he have any clan techniques of his own, yet he achieved feats comparable to and even above those of Itachi.
It’s gotta Minato, I swear in his one shot manga he fought against Nine Tails (Inside the seal), deflected a tailed beast bomb and could teleport all at just 14 years old.
Let’s be honest he’d slap everyone on this list.
Oro & Minato
orochimaru and minato, the others are sons of famous warriors or from a legendary clan, these are the only who deserve to be called genius, they never had any special clan kekkei genkai, ninjutsu or taijutsu style, they made it all by themselves,Orochimaru it's by far the most powerfull ninja, scientist and probably the most intelligent person, with amado,in the entire naruto/boruto universe, as of now an immortal being, immune to otshutsuki level enemies, know infinite amount of jutsu, curse marks, create clones of people and probably it's not affected by omnipotence as well(white zetsu body from the tree).
boruto (uzumaki + hyuga + otsutsuki genetics, as well as minatos ingenuity. also pretty much breaches past most listed characters besides sasuke in terms of battle prowess at like age 12 lmao)
shisui / minato (shisui actively fought and survived a great ninja war and unlocked his MS at around 8 years old making him the youngest known MS user. shisui is also implied to be the greatest genjutsu user itachi has ever known, and possesses quite literally one of the strongest abilities in the entire series at 8 years old. minato had the highest ever academy scores and solod the forest of death at 10 years old. he also invented the rasengan and successfully completed an S rank jinchūriki retrieval mission ALONE at like 11 years old. i’d say these 2 are close to equal)
itachi (fought in and survived the 3rd great ninja war as a literal toddler, 2nd highest academy scores behind minato, anbu agent at 13, MS at age 13)
kakashi (graduated the academy at 5 years old. also became jonin at 12 and an anbu agent at 13. would place him higher but he didn’t really seem ready to be a jonin)
kid orochimaru (would be way higher but generally not much is known about the era he presided in. however it’s important to know hiruzen considered orochimaru to be a generational prodigy - and a genius)
kid sasuke (was very impressive but didn’t really break into jonin level until he got his curse mark, which really doesn’t have anything to do with individual ability)
Between Boruto, Minato, and Kakashi
Orochimaru. He’s the only one who can realistically achieve his goal.
Why is boruto there? Sarada and Mitsuki were always on the same level as him before Karma
Because he belongs here.
Boruto is strongest (by a landslide), Minato most impressive
In all seriousness, it's Orichimaru
Allright so, three of these are allready dead, kakashi doesn't really seem to have achieved that much compared to the others, and sasuke and boruto have some major "fate bestowed hax upon me" powers. If we are counting the dead guys shisui had insane hacks, so that leaves itachi and minato there, between which I'd say itachi just has a way more varied moveset and seemingly crazy IQ to go with it, compared to Minato who was basically just truly, insanely fast (and we don't really know how he developed that ability afaik.
I mean I don't know how much we actually know about orochimaru's background, but he doesn't seem to have been born with a special bloodline, and despite this he has managed to trick the hidden leafs intel unit for many years, survive and even thrive in achieving his goals despite making a mortal enemy out of most of the ninja world, including at least three if not four of the people in this image. He then also somehow convinced them into having good relations with him again through the value of his sheer genius to the world, and he has a wide and varied moveset to boot. Man might not win against any of them (well, kakashi maybe, he probably has the least insane feats of anyone there) but if you win every battle you survive, mans been winning for longer than any of them. Also seems to have achieved immortality through his own research, and built up a global network of hideouts and spies with people doing research for him too, more or less single-handedly creating his own shinobi nation at one point...
I wouldn't say his combat IQ is the highest of any of them (that's probably itachi IMO) or results for efforts put in (that might be Boruto, he's kinda insane for his age to begin with, but even more so after the training with sasuke), but he's really good at achieving his goals, and his non-combat feats are the most impressive IMO. Also I just don't think anyone on this list could actually kill him permanently, he'd win by just outliving them eventually.
Boruto
It's Minato and Orochimaru, while the others are geniuses (except Boruto) they are helped by their genes/kekei genkai which imo lower a little bit their merits
I guess based off of the little we know minato. But we have only seen his achievements. I want a backstory to him… did he truly come from nothing? Same with orochimaru. I’m going with my boy kakashi. Yeah he had the genes of someone great, but he got no special abilities or anything really. His dad also passed away and he had to raise himself. He also had the best prodigy achievements . He also has the highest peak power. Also became hokage, mentored the strongest generation. Learned the most jutsu (except maybe orochimaru). Had the most clout from his village. All while battling the worst case of trauma and depression of all these people (except maybe itachi) which we know severely weakened him.
If you think Minato is the best prodigy because no genetical boost then what about Kakashi, Orochimaru and Boruto (Boruto never got Hyuga’s Byakugan, and never got Uzumaki’s extreme amount chakra)
Kakashi, and it's not even close. All the others specialised in something, only Minato and Kakashi were all-rounders, but kakashi had at least 1000 jutsus over his teacher. Even without the sharingan, he still could produce all the justsus copied and was a formidable ninja and kage.
Also, Chidori
Realistically the 2 that became Hokage
I see a lot of people saying Boruto in the comments and idk, its not really a fair comparison tbh. Yeah he has the most feats and growth or what not to back things up but at the same time he has a MASSIVE boost above literally everyone else on this list, he has Otsusuki DNA (the literal god like race of the verse) and born with 3 chakara natures (you cant train to learn a new one, you literally have to be born with it) while people like Orochimaru and Minato come from literally nothing, no special clan or powers from birth or obtained from someone else.
So ya maybe it is Boruto but I think you'd have to put an asterisk next to his name
Boruto because he's the strongest one here while still only being 15, so that by definition would make him the biggest prodigy here
Orchimaru or Baruto
Shisui is literally just a plot device, we know next to nothing about the guy, he doesn't belong on the list.
Unironically it's Kakashi. If not for what happened to Rin and Obito breaking him. His Sensei Becoming Hokage and then being killed,. Getting the Sharingan (Which while initially a buff ended out being more of a nerf.)
He'd easily have surpassed his Sensei. He still had much to learn but nobody to teach him. and then when he started copying skills, the sharingan prevented him from having the chakra to train and master/use them.
No special bloodline and an eye that while useful, has stunted your growth and made training difficult. a dead sensei and no plans, need or hopes for becoming a better shinobi until you meet Naruto and Sasuke.
And he's still one of the strongest in history.
If he never got the Sharingan. (And survived that mission.) He'd continue to train pretty regularly. Getting more naturally quick/strong without need for the sharingan. He'd have plenty of Chakra to pull off some neat things like lightning clones. Perfect Chidori into purple lightning. Lightning amp his movement and reaction. Likely save rin from the Ninja group.
And continue to grow into a fine shinobi. He'd likely follow in Minato's footsteps and learn sage mode etc. dude had the most potential out of all of them no joke. But he never achieved it.
Where’s Sakura?
Boruto in my opinion
boruto duh
Itachi
All have diverse talents, everyone is a prodigy with certain differences and certain similarities.
Itachi
Sasuke probably
Jiraiya stated that Minato was a once in a generation prodigy. Had he lived longer he would’ve been one of the strongest Shinobi in history without a doubt. Even more so than Itachi, Minato had some of the greatest potential of any character in Naruto.
Itachi Did you know that kid Itachi could kill an ANBU
It’s Minato.
Sasuke, Boruto, Oro, and Itachi all had prime tutelage (and with the exception of Oro, the best genetics in the village). By 14 Itachi spent his whole life training under Fugaku, Oro had spent most of his life under the top Kage of all time, Sasuke had spent years under Oro, Boruto trained under Naruto/Sasuke/and a Jiraiya clone. Yes they reached great heights but that much should be expected
The others reached Jonin level pretty much on their own (which is why Neji should be on this list). The White Fang died while Kakashi was still in the academy, and he cleared the Chunnin exams almost immediately after that so he did it all without Minato. Even later he reveals Chidori as a surprise, which suggest Minato didn’t actually train with him beyond the basics (like Jiraiya and Naruto during Pt.1).
Shisui doesn’t seem to have gotten along with the rest of his clan enough to have been training much with them - and his eye technique surpassed anyone who could have trained him. Theoretically Fugaku was the only other one who could read the Uchiha tablets. We don’t hear of him being under any major Jonin or anything even in supplemental materials so it looks like he just kind of learned everything and dominated until it was time to teach Itachi
But even both of those characters has some degree of genetic advantage. Minato was just a random outlier - no impressive parentage to speak of. We know he trains under Jiraiya - but mostly after Jiraiaya has already identified him as a child of prophecy. The Kushina rescue and other feats (like his academy graduation) all precede Jiraiya’s involvement (and specifically his scores scale him above Neji/Sasuke/Gaara whod all been stated Jonin level during the Chunin arc). Even with Jiraiya’s training - they mostly focused on a fighting style he doesn’t even use.
He created the rasengan - and then taught it to Jiraiya and Hiruzen
He mastered the Uzumaki sealing techniques - and then taught them to an Uzumaki, before teaching Jiraiya and Hiruzen
He mastered FTG which Jiraiya had no way of teaching and Hiruzen didn’t use
He has a wider array of mastery and skill with the least advantages. No chakra power ups, no crazy genetics/enhancements, no magical eyes - he just shows up and does what he wants
Boruto
Let's just say one of them was able to create a jutsu which can shake the entire planet
As much as I love itachi and the others, its boruto and it's not even close
As much as I love itachi and the others, its boruto and it's not even close
Orochimaru
Itachi was said to he Hokage level intellect at age 7 and became Anbu leader at 13. And no I’m not glazing, just stating the facts.
The namikaze clan are known for their intellect, so minato does have an IQ thanks to his clan
Borugoat
Naruto is not on the list when bro killed Madagara and was stronger than everyone on the list at like 16 yo. People forget that he’s the greatest prodigy too often
Minato or Itachi
If we’re going be prodigy meaning their skill relative to their age it’s Kakashi or Itachi. Probably Kakashi.
Kakashi may have the lowest potential of any of these, but he came into his strength way earlier than most of them. He was a jounin younger than any of them.
In my opinion the biggest prodigy of konoha is Tobirama and 2nd comes Minato
Kakashi or orichimaru. Only two that didn’t have magic eyes that automatically do all the heavy lifting. Maybe minato too but I don’t remember what he did as a child. I just remember his adult accomplishments.
