Remember when people were circle-jerking about how Republicans would never be upset over losing an election when Trump won 4 years before that?
The entire lifetime of the term “snowflake” is brought to you by the projection of deeply insecure people.
Doubly ironic because it's a term they coopted from a movie written by a gay author satirizing their machismo.
I wonder if there is a German word for a mixed feeling of vindication and disappointment.
German word for a mixed feeling of vindication and disappointment.

"Uhhh... can I get that in a sentence?"

“Fuck you lady, that’s what stairs are for!”
Avenue Q reference, Holy Shit this made me happy. Have a great day.

And before a gay anarchist from Portland used it, it was a slur against conservative white people in the 19th century:
Per thinkprogress:
Early 1860s in Missouri, as the Civil War began and citizens battled over whether or not slavery should continue within the state. “A snowflake was a person who was opposed to the abolition of slavery,” Brewster said. “They were called snowflakes because it said they valued white people over black people.
What movie?
Fight Club
Whoa, there. You're not supposed to talk about it!
Found the Space Monkey
The Movie That Shall Not Be Named
Ah, thank you!
IF there WAS one of those clubs, you ALWAYS follow the first rule of those gatherings.
What club?
It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize Fight Club was very, very white.
What movie? Never mind, saw reply further down.
I always found it funny how loaded with feeling and emotion the phrase "Fuck your feelings" is.
Yes!
Just ask a straight white man who's not independently wealthy...'fyou can get him to stop whining.
Oh, yes. Yes I do.
"Get over it! We won! We wouldn't act this way if we had lost, so stop being a sore loser!"
Then 2020 came around and it turns out they were treating the whole thing like a deeply insecure parent trying to assault a child on a little league field and claiming the umpire was being paid off.
*crying becomes entire identity, irony levels sent into low earth orbit
Remember when they were circle-jerking about how the left was going to riot when Trump got reelected in 2020, but then that didn't happen, but they just continued saying "The left riots when they don't get their way" to this day? Like it wasn't literally something they pulled out of their imagination?
They conflate not being extrajudicially murdered with "not getting our own way," because they're fucking idiots.
That's what they've literally done. I keep seeing them saying it and it's fucking nuts. The BLM protests were about state violence, as bipartisan a topic as one can imagine. And they've gaslit themselves into thinking of it as some J6 equivalence.
Or the way they took the BLM riots and claimed whole cities were destroyed. Like hear them talk about Portland and you'd think the place got burned to the ground... like white supremacists did with Tulsa.
“You lost, get over it!”
-republicans
Yet you can't point out this simple fact to them. Their feelings don't care about facts.
I've gotten to the point where I don't even point these things out to them anymore. That's because I don't have the conversations. I've cut off all my friends and family because I couldn't take those "discussions" anymore.
I mean conservatives once started a civil war for that reason idk why ppl are surprised

While I know you are being sarcastic I feel compelled to point out that the confederate states had fewer rights for white citizens than when they were in the USA as they federally forbade freeing your slave or voting as a state to be a free state.
And it was about race, as they made it illegal to enslave a white person. Again, a federal law that the states could not overrule.
People hoping they do again because they need a reminder that they contribute nothing to the country.
What was that other thing they were chanting at some point? "Hang my pants?" Something like that. It was... very not good? I do not know if I can really talk about it any more lightly at this moment.
"Please wear a mask."
"ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT!"
Remember when a really charismatic guy didn’t get elected in what would be his second term and then staged a coup and took over and then orchestrated the complete, systemic genocide of millions of people?
Also don't forget their months of weeping meltdown when Target sold rainbow themed clothing.
Oh c'mon now, give them some credit where credit is due. They also made lots and lots of domestic terror threats at Target.
Well, I mean the real issue is who they stormed it for.
Storming the capital because an actual facist got elected would be one thing.
Storming it because they're angy that the most milquetoast liberal ever got elected over said actual facist, who is the most pathetic delusional narcissistic moronic jackass alive, makes them even more pathetic than their GoD eMpErOr TrUmP is.
then cried about how the election was stolen without any evidence or facts because their “feelings” said so. Maga / reepublicans are literally flat earth levels of stupid and the least self ware people on the planet
My favorite part was it was after a year of them talking about how sacred federal property was, and how anyone who defaced it was human scum during the BLM protests.
Cut to them smearing shit all over the halls of Congress. 😂
Nah nah nah, those were all deep-state BLM actors portraying right-wingers...
Who are also totally innocent and don't deserve to be in jail!
From the same cadre of people who didn’t like seeing the green M&M in running shoes
I know republicans who throw tantrums if they hear people speaking english with a foreign accent.
They are one el polo loco commercial away from having a ruined evening at any point.
I can hear it now. “This is America, SPEAK ENGLISH!”
It's exactly that, sprinkled with conspiracies about trying to brainwash people to be anti-american.
They pretend they can't understand the accented english even though it's perfectly clear, just because they hate people they see as different.
And I'm sure they'd have no qualms about people speaking English with a British, Australian, NZ or Boston accent.
Heck, in my experience, Australian is easier to understand than Bostonian!
If I EVER hear someone say that I'm gonna throw out the ol "America doesn't have an official language" lol
I can hear it now. “This is America, SPEAK
ENGLISHAmerican!”
They'll, without irony, shout this at British people.
You ruined my evening by mentioning El Pollo Loco lol.... i miss it
If it makes you feel any better, they seem to constantly change a huge chunk of their menu and most of the things that you probably enjoyed are gone
There was a phone carrier commercial on the other day and it wasn't in English, but Spanish instead. I couldn't help but think what my dad would be saying watching that...

Tucker just didn't find an M&M sexy enough to beat off to at night. It's ok though, I'm sure he's getting off just fine these days thinking about Putin.
Even leaving aside how dumb and hypocritical dude is, reacting to political news emotionally is 100% reasonable. Why shouldn't people have an emotional interest in how we're governed? It's pretty important. Suggesting people should be emotionless over the fate of our world is some sociopath shit.
hey, we're building the apparatus for genocide against marginalized people.... but... can you not be upset about it?
It's a real boner killer when you get sad over our genocide apparatus. This is in no way our fault. Stop being so emotional.
Sad Boner Killing Apparatus is my new band name. Thank you for that one
You have to be incredibly privileged to not be emotionally invested in politics. The outcome of an election can drastically change my ability to live my life authentically and peacefully.
The supreme court with the current justices has done a fucking huge impact on a ton of lives over the years.
You'd have to be willfully ignorant to not recognize politics is part of life.
Which people are, my step mother thought abortion was legal everywhere still. Like nah dude, Texas has their weird $10k shit thing still...I think.
She is extremely privileged though, as you pointed out.
Snyder and Chevron decisions affect every American. Snyder and Chevron have in just the past week effectively sold out the last remains of the country. Citizens United started the sale and now the store is almost empty. That is not hyperbole either. It cannot be overstated how impactful this is.
Now more than ever. I know people say that every time, but for real. The theme of a next Trump administration will be retribution.
I'm not American, but there is a general election in the UK on 4th of July. If Conservatives were to win this country would similarly go to shit. (More than it already has).
From what I understand the conservatives have almost no chance, so that's the good news. Bad news is the ship's already sailed. Y'all made your superpower-ending decision already.
Politics can decide the course of lives, for better or worse. Being emotional over having some control over your own life is a fairly logical response. They just don't want to see the hurt the new policies will cause so they don't have to feel guilty for creating them.
They enjoy the hurt causes because they hate anyone different from them. They're reactionaries that will keep finding differences until there's no one left.
I would much rather have someone be emotionally invested in the decisions that affect their lives and their kids' and families' lives than the cynical "do whatever awful thing it takes to trigger libs" shit that the right has made into their only political stance.
Conservatives have conjured themselves into a mentality that emotion is the opposite of logic, while insinuating that men are more logical because we suppress our emotions, so therefor we're more suited for positions of power.
They conveniently overlook Donald Trump having daily emotional meltdowns in public.
Emotions are the foundation for logic and reason. Trying to paint them as opposites is idiotic.
He said emotional support.
"we just made it illegal for you to have an abortion" "hmm this news doesn't affect my mood in any way"
The whole "I'm a super rational computation machine, stop being so emotional" thing is Vulcan fetishism.
It’s exactly the reason Fox News has viewers.
But those sociopaths might have the right idea after Thursday night. Maybe we've been thinking about this all wrong. Caring about things hasn't gotten anyone anywhere, whereas actively acting against compassion makes you the leader of the free world. Perhaps by trying to be better people we've merely stillbirthed are own chances at success?
"That doesn't count" morals or some stupid bullshit.
They tried to kidnap the governor of Michigan because they couldn't get haircuts in the middle of a pandemic.
Assassinate*
The kidnapping was the first step but they had the entire assassination planned.
But... but you could buy all of these things during the pandemic. I mean, maybe not halloween stuff in FUCKING APRIL but the rest of that except the hair styling could have been ordered that whole time.
Did they even try?
God, I hate seeing this stuff. All it does is remind me how uselessly unhelpful and selfish so many people in our country are. We are surrounded by emotionally unstable children who are armed to the teeth.
Of course they're emotional. These guys make it seem like empathy and care is an emotion while anger is not what a stupid take to have.
At its basest level, Republican politics boil down to “men should get mad, women should get sad, non-whites should get out.”
Oh, and they also flipped out when Taylor Swift started dating Travis Kelce and said “Let’s fucking go!” at a game. Ohhhhh god the pearl-clutching. About that: what fan, at home or at an actual game, player, or anyone who works for an NFL Franchise team, hasn’t let out a stream of obscenities during a game? Somehow, Taylor doing it is bad for the sport. Wait, so the ones who call liberals/dems/whatever “snowflakes” when one woman (who happens to be rather famous and very, very successful) has the power to ruin a whole sport? Gee, maybe they are afraid of little, ol’ her.
A black man became president in 2008, and they haven't recovered. That's what all this is. Trump is revenge. This is all a racist temper tantrum.
Can you really blame them though? That black man wore a tan suit and put dijon mustard on a burger. The American dream died under his watch!
Trump was the flaming cross they erected on the White House lawn
Thanks Obama
Eg. Fucking. Zactly.
No, see, he's not saying that Republicans don't get emotional.
It's that Republicans have no concept of emotional support. They 'tough it out' and 'get over it' and remain emotionally unstable, unhinged, and miserable their entire lives because it's Unmanly to think about their emotions.
Don't forget about putting a rainbow on a can.
Beer companies have been supporting the queer community for quite a damned long time.
Yeah, let me get this straight... I might feel strongly about political decisions that I worry may negatively affect the future of my country, and that somehow makes me emotional and weak?
But when someone throws away unopened cans of beer that they already bought, or blow up an expensive cooler that they already bought, or blow up a coffee maker that they already bought, because those companies ran commercials that were aimed at someone besides them... They aren't emotional? When they threaten to stop watching a sport that they have loved their entire life because some players exercise their American Freedom™ to make a statement before the game... They aren't being emotional?
The entire fucking conservative movement is nothing but a bunch of emotional, reactionary snowflakes.
Conservatives being calm and non-emotional about political news? That is fuckin’ rich.
"The hypocrisy is strong with these people"
Modern day republicans embody immense hypocrisy and amorality.
Conservatives are the most sensitive emo snowflakes ever it's fucking stupid
Hey now don't bring emo into this 😂
They're boycotting Garth Brooks because he said no to them about getting involved.
Tractor Supply did some woke stuff they're pissed off about too.
Tractor Supply the company rolled over recently and are now promising to be super racist and hateful.
It wasn't even that, it was because a company have her a whole six pack. The nerve... Six whole beers with her brand on it.
Actually I'm pretty sure only one can had her face on it, the other 5 were normal branding. And transphobic losers threw a fit over that. I remember trying to explain to my dad how it was a single can and they didn't even make a post about it, Dylan did, so of course he started ranting about how he's not transphobic, he's just tired of having it "shoved down his throat"
IIRC they had an influencer partnership program and she was one of tons of people who were part of that program. But people who "aren't transphobic" want special "no trans people allowed" exceptions to every conceivable thing, and confuse their media making them mad about some stupid thing with that thing being mad-worthy.
conservatives say that liberals are too emotional while screaming at me lol
Party of treason and hate. Truly nothing else.
I loved the “I’m never drinking Bud Light again” from guys. I was just shaking my head thinking: if you drink Bud Light, you’re not a man.
As I said at the time:
My dude, you've spent decades buying and consuming something indistinguishable from dog urine, but a rainbow can is what made you stop. You don't get to pretend you have standards.
LMAO you conservatives were crying and shitting in your diapers over Starbucks removing "Merry Christmas" from their CUPS. You were crying forever over CUPS.
Not to mention, y'all are still crying over Gillette, which happened over 5 years ago. Give me a break.
The same people that lost their shit over a tan suit? Lol, okay.
It's the whole Republican strategy, make people fearful and outraged on lies perpetually.
Nike, Gillette, Ben & jerrys, little mermaid, beauty & the beast, bud lite, Pepsi...etcetcetc
Would all like a fucking word....
Well, they aren't wrong, Republicans would definitely refuse to go to any form of therapy.
Don’t forget because a half black man became President.
And just watch their meltdown in about 12 days if Trump is sentenced to Jail.
The entire conservative movement is based on emotion and their 'feelings', and zero facts.
If we got rid of the emotional support firearms, we’d be off to a great start.
I had an in law bitching about snowflakes and safe spaces, so I drove him to get lunch on the south side of Chicago. Dude started crying and shaking in the middle of the day, while everyone else was eating their burgers. It's all just projection and entitlement.
“Republicans don’t need emotional support to deal with things we don’t like. We just take our rifles out to the back yard and shoot at beer, as gawd intended!”
We can't let these morons keep rewriting history.
After Jan 6. And the republican party's inability or unwillingness to remove the participants from their party roster, they should be designated a terror organization.
Remember the banner at CPAC "we are all domestic terrorists" they would wear it as a badge of honor.
Alex Jones once started shrieking about the incipient apocalypse planned by the UN because he saw a couple of Muslim women in a pool supply store.
Not to mention the football player who knelt
We live in the strangest of times. Thursday Trump said he never slept with a porn star. A mere couple of weeks time after being convicted of paying her hush money to keep the story out of the election. I think he's now in this weird yogi guru deception state where he could start a sentence with a lie and end same said sentence stating he never said that and be believed.
I still hear complaints about a Quarterback kneeling at a football game. Colin Kaepernick hasn't played in 7 years.
I cannot think of a single conservative position that is not based almost solely in emotion.
"I'm worthy", "my children are worthy", "my nation is special", etc.
Emotion. Emotion. Emotion.
It is frankly disgusting.
Not even over a good beer either… like but light and Budweiser are trash beers and I’m not a beer snob by any means. I’d spend another 5-10 bucks and get a case of Stella or modelo any day.
Remember when they were smashing their coffee makers and burning their shoes? They throw a tantrum at the drop of a hat.
Deplorable.
I genuinely ask this question. They say feelings don't matter. Okay, why not?
They murdered more than one million people because “ nobody tells me what to do”.
If boycotting a product because you disagree with their marketing plan is "going insane", then it's no wonder some people live in a perpetual state of existential crisis.
They shot cans...
Do you have little knowledge on the subject but wanted to speak anyway, or are you knowingly lying?
Kid Rock literally shot a 24 pack. For some reason.
I mean, a lot of Republicans don't really mind Dems winning because... Dems don't actually hurt them and don't actually make the world a worse place. The stakes are just lower for Republicans. Yeah, maybe they'd really like to have someone in charge that doesn't believe in global warming. But if a climate change believer wins, what's the real harm? Maybe slightly higher taxes at worst. Whereas Dems are concerned about that shit because global warming is a very real threat. That's just an example, but there are a ton of worse ones out there.
Literally tried to overthrow 247yrs of democracy because a failed reality TV guy with a full diaper told them to. This is what we're dealing with.
Yeah, the Republicans are fucking fragile. They can’t deal with anything outside of white, straight, Christian males running everything.
To think that all started over the company making her a custom engraved can. It wasn't even mass produced I don't think, it was a one of a kind gift.
Didn't stop em from going bonkers the moment they got the news tho. Some even bought Bud Lite in bulk just to destroy them. Protesting the drink by buying it, masterful move.
Their entire media bubble that basically creates their every thought constantly provokes them into a state of outrage and gives them a target for their feelings of anxiety and inadequacy. They LIVE emotional support from their political bubble.
Maybe he doesn't recognize it because it's like George Foster Wallace wrote: one fish asks another one how's the water, and that fish answers "what the hell is water?" They're so contained completely within their emotional reaction to politics that they don't even recognize it as something that can happen as a discrete event.
That must be why that party is in constant need of political and personal safe spaces, lest they scream “RINO!” at any Republicans who dare to think for themselves and suggest a change of course.
Also they don’t need emotional support because republican news is basically emotional support for those who don’t want to deal with reality.
We need a new term like Murphy's law for projection because literally every single accusation a Republican makes is a confession these days.
"Insane for a year"? I think it's been much longer than that.
Seeing people even suggest that people shouldnt be getting emotional over politics scares me a little. It betrays a sense of not understanding that policies have real effects on real people, it's like a game to them.
Remember when these people chose not to create a certain document that details what they planned to do if Trump gets reelected, something, something end of democracy? All because they didn't like the groups of people who were replacing their voter base?
Surely none of that happened, right guys?
Project 2025?
Yep.
Snowflakenomics
Did she even drink it - or was just sent to her for promotional stuffs n'at?
G
The purpose of "emotional support" is to help people who feel things too intensely find emotional stability.
And we all know, Republicans don't exactly do "emotional stability".
Republicans don‘t see anger as an emotion.
They always seem to forget that anger is an emotion
This point if I was an actual adult republican who isn’t interested in fascism, I’d start worrying. There are a lot of emotionally unstable party members about.
It's a lot easier to say that when you don't belong to a minority or class that is threatened by those politics...
project 2025 aims to lock up queer people in jail. and for me a trans woman that means i would get raped daily in a male prison. how tf am i not going to react emotionally to my life being ruined by bigots
Maybe if republicans gave emotional support and introspection more priority, they wouldn’t be so much… like… that.
The amount of heads that explode when a soup company features an interracial gay couple would beg to differ
went insane...? wtf?
they have made more than one social media site because they needed safe places
In the end money will always do the talking.
It's incredible how the far right can say something like this when literally everything they do is a reaction to something they don't like. Their entire motivation is outrage. It's what their talking heads feed them all day on network TV and their social media echo chambers. It's never "here's something great we can do", it's always "here's something horrific the others are doing!". Purely reactive and driven by emotions, primarily disgust.
Ask them about actual conservative policies and they have very little to say before they disintegrate into outrage and whataboutism. All they want to do is harm the opportunities of people who are different from them. Constant culture war stoking against gay people, trans people, people getting abortions, and the rest of 'em. Go back a few decades and it's the same thing, except it was rock and roll music, dungeons & dragons, jane fonda.
And let's not forget right wing fuckwits furiously flushing their Gilette razors down the toilet and setting fire to their Nike shoes just because a company said something that hurt their precious feelings.
It's odd how every single thing they get militant about is something that does not affect their daily lives at all.
Ideas do not exist in Republican politics. Only reactions and feelings.

I want Donald Trump to be forced into a court of law, sworn to tell the truth, and asked if the 2020 election was fair. Then when he says no, he must prove it to the satisfaction of a jury, or go to jail.
I remember what happened with hogwarts legacy, or with Dave Chapelle. Throwing stones in a glass house here
Americans are funny.
Their emotional fragility makes them very amusing to watch
I'm not sure boycotting is that insane
Hey now, that's unfair. They were already insane and didnt stop being insane after a year.
Someone link that one TikTok of the woman crying because people had to wear masks.
From the outside the budlight debacle looked like one of the few effective grass roots consumer boycotts. Normal people declined to purchase a product from a hostile entity and the hostile entity backed down.
Effective-ish I suppose. Real victory means enemies fired and friends hired.
They do always be walking around with their emotional support guns
Can we just agree that we're all going crazy?
When making personal consumer decisions is labeled as "emotionally unstable". Nokay.
Republicans think "not accepting" emotional support is the same thing as "not needing" it
Patrick’s people literally staged a coup because they had their feelings hurt.
But what Ruffini is saying is true. Look at their golden god. They do not need emotional support because they are never wrong about anything and they never have to take responsibility for anything. How would they need emotional support? Maybe when the beer runs out?
Most of us just stopped buying the beer. I don't think that counts as going insane.
Sorry but what is this about?
Damn they got bars
The kids... Who will be drinking BEER? Really the softest bunch of people in america
And, you know, literally stormed the fucking Capitol because they didn’t like an election outcome.
