This is actually way worse than it may seem to some. And also proves that had only just a couple legitimately elected officials in 2020 not been elected, the fake electorate scheme could have been successful in Michigan and other states as well.

I have worked as a low-level election “official.” All of the township clerks & election coordinators I’ve met go to great lengths to ensure that their elections are secure, ethical — and that the process itself is transparent & above reproach.
Every election worker must sign an oath before working in each election. The rules are very clear, and we verify that we understand & must abide by them.
We do not talk about politics while handling ballots. I have yet to meet a fellow election volunteer that hasn’t taken this role seriously. Even the more actively partisan community members I have met working elections are there to serve their community & our American electoral system — not “their” party. And even if they have some secret agenda…in the election rooms I’ve served in, any sidestepping into even the appearance of partisanship or mishandling of ballots, voter info, etc. would NOT be tolerated.
The recent attempts to undermine and discredit our American electoral system should be harshly punished. Many, MANY years in prison - full stop. Secure, ethical and free elections are the foundation of our democracy. It should be made plainly clear to both law-abiding Americans and bad actors that any attack on this cornerstone will not be tolerated or lightly excused.

OHIO 2004, Electronic votes were counted on a server hosted in TN instead of the official Ohio Secretory of State server that had been vetted to do the counting and summing of votes. The server in TN was operated and owned by Karl Rove. When it came time to do then official RECOUNT of votes. The only TWO FELONIES handed out were because 2 GOP officials CHOSE which counties to recount instead of picking counties randomly to see if there were any discrepancies.
In 2012 it went a bit nuts on election night because Ohio went for Obama. Why might he think it wouldn't? Same set up was in place in 2012 as in 2004 (moving the votes to be counted on a GOP controlled server.)

Every republican accusation is actually a confession. Here in Colorado, most of the verified fraud was from people who voted for Trump. They'll do the same shit come November.
My favorite personal anecdote from this time was when a Trumper family member related to me how their neighbor supposedly received multiple absentee ballots "from the Democrats", including for his dog.
So I was like, firstly, those are absentee ballot applications, because ballots hadn't been sent out yet. I explained how it's like offers of credit, you can get a million offers in the mail but they don't mean anything unless you sign up. He didn't understand this, but did argue it meant they needed a way to verify only one ballot was sent out. Of course, this exists too, which I also explained, which he also didn't understand.
Secondly, I explained that if this story were true then it meant his neighbor was actually the one defrauding the system by registering his dog to vote. You know, because they only send ballot applications to registered voters, and voters are only registered by applying for it (in my state anyway)... which a dog cannot do. He didn't really get this either.
So I was like, "Do you think that the DNC keeps a perpetual list of every single dog in the United States, their home address, and their owner's political affiliation? Something that doesn't even necessarily exist in any one list for actual people? And then waits for a politically charged time like COVID to, for the first time ever, mass mail ballots to these dogs? AND you think they'd be foolish enough to foil their own plan by sending these dog ballots to Republican-owned dogs instead of only sending them to Democrat-owned dogs? Is that what you are saying is going on? Because either that's what you think happened, or else your neighbor is a liar." He didn't have an answer, which I can only assume is because he didn't understand the topic (or any of the other ridiculous BS he heard on Fox that day).
Anyway, that was a fun conversation.
4 years later and the only people being charged with crimes and fraud are the people pointing fingers and yelling "crimes and fraud!"
Thankfully Michigan’s elections are on the more secure end of all countrywide elections, which are already very safe.
Thus, when we have somebody breaking election law, they can be appropriately charged to maintain the integrity of the process. Letting them off means electoral crime isn’t a big deal. They committed the crimes, now they’re finding out.
My favorite part is that she stole the equipment because she was worried about the accuracy of the count - after refusing to allow a technician to do preventative maintenance and failing to conduct accuracy tests. Just say it out loud, your guy looked like he was losing and you panicked and did crimes.

"alleged" needs to be used until conviction. Charges are official at this point for these 2 dirt bags. Multiple others have also been charged, some of which have been convicted.
I understand that, and I’m not wishing to attack it, I just see far too often that people internalize alleged as guilt, thus ruining a reputation. It’s not just political stuff, any time someone is being charged or accused of something, people generally just assume it’s what happened. I want proof of something before I believe it, that’s just about it.
