Any workbooks out there with a wider toe box like Altras ? Boots Buying Help

I’ve been using Lowa renegades for about a year now and my far left toe is getting crammed into my other toe causing issues . I own a pair of Altras and have no issues with it . Other narrow toe box sneakers are causing the issues as well .

For over a decade I've worn the timberland titan pro, lace up, 6 inch boot. I love everything about this boot. However, as I'm getting older I'm finding that I need more ankle support. I think this means that I need a taller boot. I'm really struggling to find a boot that is tall enough ( 8 inches, maybe 10?) and also small enough for my foot. I do not want a slip on boot. I wear an 8 1/2 in the women's timberland.

For reference, I work in a welding shop standing on concrete. They must have a safety toe.

Any guidance to an equal quality boot that can help is much appreciated!

Not after recommendations as such, but what makes a good work boot? (UK) Boots Buying Help

For context I usually wear dealer type boots, stand in the same place a lot at work (fixing cars on a ramp for example) but also easily do 10k steps a day, then I generally wear them all the time outside of work too, the best I've had so far is the jcb ones I have now, I also have some jcb rigger boots for wet/muddy work, the rigger boots are more comfortable underfoot but also twice the price... I think it's the standing for a long time that causes uncomfortable feet but what's the best to prevent this? Work will pay so much towards them to be renewed and I can pay whatever after that but I'm a bit anxious about wasting the money and I won't really know what is the most comfortable until I've worn them past the point of return.

I'm tempted by buckboots or v12 boots, they are more expensive but have heard good things about them, also is there any benefits to switching to lace with or without side zip or is that just personal preferance? Is there any benefit to either style? I'd go to a shop and have a look about/talk to someone but I don't know of any actual shops around my area (Cumbria) that sells a good selection of work boots

Any advice appriciated, thank you

Best slip on chelsea boot under $500?Boots Buying Help

I simply cannot decide, so here I am. I work as a cnc machinist and constantly walk on slick, oily floors, so slip resistance is imperative. Comfortable, durable, and well made too if possible. I considered the red wing classic chelsea, but I can't find the info I need on the traction tred soles for slip resistance. I've considered the danner bull run chelsea, but again, not sure how slip resistant theyd be.

I bought a pair of thursday legend chelseas last year, and the one day I wore them to work was absolutely treacherous. Was like walking on ice.

Thank you so much in advance, I appreciate your time and your wisdom 👍

Work boot recommendations? Boots Buying Help

My husband is looking at Carolinas, Thorogood, and red wing. He works in all types of things like plumbing, concrete, hand digging trenches, tunneling under homes, leveling land.

He is HARD on his boots! We pretty much buy new boots every few months but I was wondering it would be worth it to buy some good quality boots for him, save his back a little.

What would you recommend?

Snug or a little room for new boots?Boots Buying Help

Just got the Keen Cincinnati 6” and sized up slightly per their recommendation. I’m usually a 10.5 but went with an 11D. They’re snug with just a little wiggle room. I think a 10.5 would fit snug with little to no room. How does everyone like their boots to fit? Just curious if I should roll with these or exchange for a 10.5.

Do any of you use alpaca socks? I've been hearing a lot about them, but I'm pretty happy with what I'm using now.

I also can't find much about them that isn't marketing jargon, and I'm curious if anyone has any actual experience with them- particularly in hot weather.

Thanks!

Socks?Boots Buying Help

So I’m going to start out by saying as an auto tech I’ve neglected my feet and worked in doc marten 6 eye boot shoes for god knows how long. Recently my physical therapist told me I needed to stop because it was making my muscle issues worse, so I bought a pair of blundstone steel toe Chelsea boots and I LOVE THEM they are the best boots I’ve ever worn (thus far). My one only issue is how swelteringly hot my feet get and I was wondering if anyone has good breathable boot sock recommendations? I’ve been wearing the dickies work socks for a long time but at this point they’re too much for these and my hot ass feet and I need some assistance.

Work boots for hospitalBoots Buying Help

My hubby works in a lab and needs shoes that don't have any holes on them at all. He would prefer boots that will last longer then a year. He's standing basically the whole day. Does anyone have any recommendations? TIA!

Edit. He can have laces. I mean no holes as in like those little holes that are on sneakers. Like the air holes I guess you would call them.

New work bootsBoots Buying Help

I’ve been at a manufacturing job for a little over 6 months and the Justin’s boots I wasted my boot voucher on are cooked. I thought they were a good deal ($65 after voucher), but I got what I paid for. I didn’t know what options were really available or what type of boot I needed. The Justin’s pull on square toe has been fine, good enough protection and very slip resistant but Not at all comfortable. I work 12 hour shifts sometimes 6 days a week. I’ve been looking at wedge sole boots for the comfort, and composite toe for weight. The options that jump out are the Ariat wedge and the Keen Cincinnati. I’m not sure how they will stand up to the chemicals at work (mainly coolant and oil) or if they will keep my feet dry while cleaning up or adding coolant. I’d prefer something I can re-sole and customize later.

24/7Boot maintenance

Hi, I’m UK based but have a really nice pair of Thorogoods (804-3898) that I’ve had 3 weeks and I’m really happy with. Only downside I can see is I’m wearing them a lot…6-7 days a week between work and my own projects which is generating a lot of moisture and not a lot of ‘down time’ how best can I look after them? (Are boot dryers actually worth it or not recommended for leather with liners) or any other maintenance etc

Other than that I gave them a good dose of mink oil and then Celtic grease (not sure you have that in USA) I work in a timber machine shop so very dusty!

Safety Boots/Shoes and Sizing HelpBoots Buying Help

I was curious as to if anyone has similar feet, and if so, what size do you usually take in width? My feet are, give or take, 5 inches in width, so would that be 10E+ or something?

Also, if you do have similar feet, do you have any sites that could tackle these ham hocks? I'm needing some work boots because my current 3E ones have always destroyed my feet by the end of the day.

I'm also about a size 10.5-11, and also in Canada.

It's time for new bootsBoots Buying Help

Legitimate question on what brands I should look into for boots. I bought a pair of Redwings a little more than a year ago. The leather has already split, all but 2 lace hooks have snapped off, and I needed tough-toe after a few months. I take pretty good care of them. I am a Shipfitter and sometimes need to crawl in inner-bottoms and tanks aside from grinding, welding, and burning...

What brands can handle Steelwork well?
