Just got these (Red Wing 2203) on clearance for 88 bucks! Will I be happy with my purchase?
Boots Goofin (Pictures, Clips)Dynaforces killed my feet as a mechanic
I have the pull-ons from this line (2217?) and theyve been comfy and dry. Theyre coming up on 3 years old and about due for a resole
Edit - just realised 2203 is not the water proof model. None the less, killer boot for under a hundy
That’s a STEAL. Great boots and 🇺🇸.
From where?!?
Theisens in Iowa
I have a pair of 2203s as well! They were my factory boots back when I did that. They are tough as nails and long wearing. But they’re not the waterproof version so if you’re around water in these I’d put a waterproof conditioner on them. Also dynaforce isn’t the most comfortable if ur standing all day on concrete
I’m in the same situation as you. Got these for a new factory job that I start Monday. Hope they’re comfortable but we’ll see
They should be fine for awhile. It depends on many things for me I’m heavy 320lbs and have plantar fasciitis in my feet so the pronounced heel bothers my feet after awhile. But if you are normal weight you’ll probably be fine
funny you say that I’m 325 but I’m young so hopefully it should be okay. Only need them to last the summer until I go back to college
I’m 32 yrs old. I’m a big guy most of my adult life but not all fat I used to be all about muscles but life happened and here I am. I’m working on a plan to shed the weight.
Idk what foot size you are vs your new boot size but you could try an arch support type insole in the boots if they start bothering you. Just be careful bc some types will take up some space in the boot and become too tight.
Do you know if you’ll be stationary at work the whole day or will you get to walk around?
Unfortunately no I don’t really know what i’ll be doing because I went through a temp agency so I haven’t even been in the factory yet. But I do know that it’s a big manufacturing company in the area and the department I got assigned to makes LED lights and industrial fans
Dude that sounds kinda fun ngl! I always loved assembly type jobs it’s all my resume is and some trade work. You’ll probably be moving around to grab shit and tools in a department for ur specific job would be my guess. Unless they have a table and you can sit and assemble your work. Which would be even better for the feet. Good luck on the job!
Wore these for almost 10 years. Good boots, got two resoles out of them before the leather was too messed up. Just switch to Thorogoods because they wanted almost $400 for these in store and I'm not feeling that
I have the same pair, but in the low top. I've had them since 2017. I got them resoled once. And they are pretty damn good at staying dry.
