Hi all. I recently bought my first pair of Danner work boots and they're great, they fit great. My only problem is that my socks are rubbing against my little toes and it's unpleasant to say the least. I have plenty of room in the toe box so I don't really know why this is happening. They are thicker socks which I thought would be ok for wearing with work boots like this, but now I'm not sure. What kind of socks should I look into getting to make sure this problem doesn't persist?
They hold up so goddamn well... Expensive ass socks but definitely worth it imo.
I can't really say they keep your feet dryer than any other pair of socks I've owned though.
Expensive, but not in the long run imo. I have pairs that are five years old and you can barely tell them from new ones. Every cheaper sock I've owned has holes after a few months
I'm going on year 2 on the 5 pairs I got and in the inside there is some white stretchy thread that tears off sometimes but it doesn't seem to effect anything currently.
I've heard about darn tough from my dad, but I haven't bought any yet. You think they'll help?
I think so, and they'll probably help with problems you didn't know you had
Merino wool socks 🧦
Darn tough are a lot of merino wool
Darn Tough Tactical full cushion
Darn tough over the calf is what I swear by they are worth the money
DarnTough, SmartWool, OpenWideSocks (DarnTough brand).Â
DT is best for boots. SW & OWS are the most comfy for everything else in my opinion but only one has the DT warranty.Â
I’m sorry. I cannot get over how utterly small awesome these look.
They're a women's 6.5, so yeah, they're pretty small lol
At first I thought this was a troll post lmao... They are really cute ðŸ˜
Imagine op wearing boot cut jeans and they cover the entire boot ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Merino wool from Costco is $7 for a 4 pack. Worked construction 15yrs and last year a pack of merino wool socks changed my life for the better. Boy have I been ignorant
Dang op are these the Super Rain Forest?
Maybe? The lining is black instead of maroon like a lot of the pictures I've seen, but other than that, they look the same. I got these secondhand at a thrift store
Beautiful boots. I love Danner USA made boots. They just fit and function so well. Are these Gor-Tex lined do you know?
How would I tell if they are?
I looked at more pictures online and I think they are
The OP’s boots are late 1990s model called the Fireline. They were Danner’s first model that met National Fire Protection Association wildland safety standards. Unlined, no Goretex, but they used Kevlar melt resistant thread & a special treated leather.
Damn these are some fine boots.
Nope — not Super Rain Forest. Super Rain Forests are lace-to-toe style.
You can survive Apocalypse with these.
I just got some Danner Bullruns and they wore a hole in one of my heels so bad I was wrapping it in bandages. Dude at the shop looked at me dead ass and told me to get darn tough socks. Bought 5 pair for like 135$ but my heels are safe and as long as the warranty holds up I think I'm pretty sold on them. Expensive as fuck but worth it imo
Absolutely Darn Tough Vermont. Their new work socks are amazing and that lifetime warranty is the clincher.
I am not a fan of darn tough. Maybe I bought the wrong pair IDK but I was not impressed. I have tried the house brand socks from rural king and they were trash. But they were cheap like six pair for $30.
Carhartt socks are decent but pricey.
Redwing makes good socks but they are also expensive.
I think fox river is the best deal overall.
Agree with Fox River!
Are you a goat ? Like wtf is this... A boot for hooves?
I'm a short woman, and I have small feet.
I like Danish Endurance socks
I haven't heard of this brand before, I'll look into them as well as darn tough. Thanks!
Jump on the darn tough bandwagon. They're worth it.
