I'm so happy for you and your partner! I don't have vegan specific advice but general advice about wanting a change in someone close to you. Shame is a de-motivating emotion so it's best to focus on the positives and celebrate their successes. If they're feeling ashamed of slipping up or not changing sooner, be their emotional support and encourage them to be the person they want to be.

Lasting change is something that people do because they want to do it and never because someone pushed them into something they're not truly committed to.
