Yeah.. another thing that I despise is this notion of "If I hurt someone then they can be mad at me, but if they hurt me then I should accept it or let it slide". Like, fkin, no. Sure, sometimes retaliation is either not worth the effort or that person geniuinely didn't mean harm, but shaming people for drawing the consequences of other's behavior or simply feeling pissed about that as "less than" is just insidious.
Tbh what helped in my case was to dial back on intensity/mileage for a bit and hip flexors and adductors strengthening in the gym (especially the latter). Now it doesn't bother me anymore.
However, it wasn't three years, more like 2-3 months. But I really overdid intensity.
I think the closest I would label myself is sort of a realistic anarchist - I don't treat power structures as something sacred and would like to have mostly voluntaryist society, but, at the same time, I recognize that too many humans are conditioned to either compliance/authority pleasing or, on the other end, psychopatic narcissism and greed, either due to trauma or culture.
This makes a fully non-violent society pretty much impossible, so the best we can do is to make sure that as little harm as possibile gets done with tools that we have and do generation-long work of becoming less violent.
Some problems like income inequality and resource scarcity are imo unsolvable, because, even if you grant everyone basic necessities, you will still get some sort of social hierarchy forming around other stuff. Not to mention, that "taxing the rich" to provide for this purpose poses a fundamental questions how you define the threshold where someone is "rich". It is just very prone to get into a slippery slope with everyone ending up poor in the end.
Funny thing is that I agree with many leftist premises, but I don't share their magical thinking that "abolish capitalism" will lead to anything better or that government would be able to fix everything with regularions.
Actually, I think your argument is a half-truth - too many people whose creations don't warrant it have too high opinion of their abilities, that is true.
However, people who actually do remarkable stuff tend not to give or get enough credit for it and in their case self -praise would be beneficiary.
Another aspect is the fact that you can destroy a lot of potential early on if you mostly criticize new learners and don't practice positive reinforcement.
I highly recommend this website https://recoverathletics.com/how-to-fix-peroneal-tendonitis/
There is also a lot more of valuable info there regarding other running -related injuries :)
If it's mostly behind the ankle and at the 5th metatarsal insertion then most probably peroneal tendonitis. If it's mostly along 5th metatarsal bone I would consider an x-ray to rule out any stress fracture.
From my experience, the fastest way to recover from it was to do feet movement exercises in all directions with resistance bands. In 3 days it went from not being able to walk due to pain to running pain-free again.
Depends on your fitness level, though I would be worried a bit, even under those circumstances.
5k race entirely in Zone 5 is completely normal lol
Exactly. I mean, I start to get a bit pissed that this place seems to just downvote you too hell when you don't agree 100% all-in with leftist sentiment, or, heavens forbid, you point out some errors in the left's narrative.
Sometimes it's being abused, sometimes it's unitnentional and the effect of the fact that the people pleaser did not state his/her expectations clearly and has poor boundaries.
Sort of, but mostly in the personal freedom part of the spectrum. I really despise the bigotry and hypocrisy of many conservatists, especially those who claim to be soo religious that they are more saint than saints. Leftists aren't much different though in many aspects, especially those who abuse "priviledge" or "race" or (insert anything else) card to discredit anyone who disagrees with them, even when such a person has many solid aeguments to back up their position.
At the same time, I disagree with the left on many things regarding "economics" departament - I firmy believe that blaming "free market capitalism" for every evil in the world is just a display of ignorance. Like, seriously, the system which lifted more people out of poverty in the last 200 years than anything else preceding it... As if slavery, feudalism etc. were any better...
Yeah, sure, some regularions are necessary but they are not able to solve every problem and pretending that it's the case is not any different from right-wingers belief in god.
Overall people from the entire spectrum mostly have an issue of blindly trusting authority in general and treating it as a replacement dad (right wingers) or mom (left wingers). That is why I am sort of an anarchist/voluntaryist and don't put any sense of sanctity on power structures.
Mężyczyzna to jest człowiek would also be sort-of correct. Overall if you have "to" you tend to skip "jest" because it is a form of redundancy.
Try to do workouts in the morning. Also - intensification of insomnia might signify to you that you are overtraining. Try deloading for a week and see if it gets any better.
What if you actually do and are willing to bear the consequences? There are plenty of morons in authority positions :p
Compared to my previous smartband (Mi Band 5 which had AMOLED) I prefer the AMOLED to MIP. Visibility is OK but I really miss the vibrance of AMOLED colors.
Depends on the sport - for running seems to be 130-155, for cycling 112-140 , though I would need to test it in a lab to be 100 percent certain. 28YO.
Rating is a bit hard - I ran consistently for a year in 2021-2022, then caught IT Band syndrome for 1 year, and only in May/June 2023 I was able to get rid of it so another year of consistent running from that time until today
Would be 3, I guess. I run around 3x per week. 5k PB 21:00, HM 1:49:56 (could be faster but I caught some injury at 16km which stopped hurting 2km later lol)
Entire non-US world would disagree with you
Guess it depends how rested he feels after that. I usually tend to sleep 6-7.5h and feel perfectly fine. No matter how much I force myself to it my body really doesn't want to sleep over 8h
As long as you do it in a correct form (where the back muscles are in an isometric contraction and don't move during the lift) and you do not exceed your abilities to handle the weight then, with progressive overload, you might be able to safely reach that level.
And yes, you do lift with your legs - the main drivers are the glutes/hams (the beginning of the lift) and then quads (they straigthen the knees)
I do, but I live in a big city with really great public transport (Warsaw). I use the bike mostly either for recreation purposes or when I need to quickly get to a place where the public transit is cumbersome.
Used to ride to the office and back but now I work from home so I don't need to.
Possibly ,but also you might overstress your body for other reasons.
I have been in such situation for the last two weeks before my recent half-marathon. Too much stress from travel, hiking in the mountains, a bit overtraining, heat stress, a nasty situation where my previous phone had the screen matrix destroyed, some minor malfunction of my motorcycle and a few bad sleep nights due to all of this.
After finishing the half-marathon and a few days of almost complete deload (only walking as an exercise) my HRV very quickly returned to normal and now it is within reference range
Man that is really sad, sorry to hear that. Yeah, the fact that men being SA'd is often downplayed is a tragic reality, it sucks and it should not be that way at all.
Seems like this group lacks any sense of morals and they are pretty hypocritical and one-sided. I would advise finding another one, if possibile.
Run walk run
My Hearth rate always peeks, even at slow runs (7m per KM pace). Any ideas on how I can get my Hearth Rate better under control?
