Who would you save?
what 2 would you rather save in a house fire? Your child, $20M, Your wife/husband, Mother?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If you've got 20m in the house it should be insured
It is extremely difficult if not impossible to insure cash. If you have $20m in the house, you are a dumb ass.
Or a criminal?
Just goes to show that I would be a poor criminal, I never think of these things.
The cash gonna burn; you'll be so mad you'll be throwing fists. Anyone you harm is gonna be hit by 👊👊gonna be struck by👊👊...
A soot criminal.
That's not a thing. Anything over $275,000 per account at the bank isn't even FDIC insured. Good luck getting 20M in cash insured unsecured at your house.
That's why you put it in multiple bank accounts. But yeah no isnienace company is insuring cash haha
You can, it's just expensive. Better to put the cash in an institution. You can insure anything. Taylor swifts voice I'm sure is insured through Lloyds
Yes you can, but there are ways to do it within one bank and insured more than 250K.
but... if i would have $20M i wouldn't have a spouse or a kid anymore lol
Looking fot the "well actually" answers I see...
wife and child, easy
Stuff as much money in the clothes of your wife and children to try and cheat the system. Hopefully whatever is orchestrating this doesn’t notice your insubordination
Shout to your family to grab money as you go thru the house to save them
Yes, this is what my mother would want me to choose too
Yeah super easy. What’s the point of having lots of money if you and your children had the knowledge you chose that money over their mother?
Child > Spouse > Parent > Cash.
I’ve lived without $20M this long 🤷🏽♂️
The money, duh. Money can buy a new wife. Kids can also be bought or you’ll just make more. Mom was old would have died soon anyway. If you were smart and had life insurance taken out on everyone then you have even more money.
you might just be a villain 😭
Um... you're allowed to pick 2.
He's just taking the money twice.
Hey, that’s 40m now. Not bad…
More people would imply he has to share the money
He made his decision. Next question.
He did. He said the money and a life insurance policy on his family.
He's out of line, but he's right!
I have no kids so I’m taking my husband and my mum.
You got 20 million laying around in your house?
SHe also doesn’t have that so she didn’t choose it
Wife and money.
The older generation already had their run. And we can always make another...
Damn hope that kid never stalks dad's Reddit account
If he doesn't know to flee a burning building it's time to try again.
Happy cake day!🎉
Yeah, but imagine having to deal with a wife having the trauma of losing a child 🤔
Same with a child losing a parent.
Only real answer is just 20M 👀
You are right. With $20M, I could get a newer, younger wife to give me a better child.
fair game
Child and $20M. If the others don't get out on their own ill take it as a sign they weren't supposed to make it.
I was thinking my child and the money. If my wife is just sitting there saying "nope, I'm not leaving unless you carry me" then that's her own fault. She better get up and help me get the money.
(Haven't seen my mom for years. It would be weird if she were at the house, maybe she started the fire...)
My child and 20m. My wife is an ex. She can die. Mom will understand why I took the money.
If i was your mom i wouldn’t be so understanding
Well you’d be too dead to care so…
The money and the money
Kid and mom for sure. No spouse so that is an easy one to eliminate.
Child and husband
I'd save the 20 mil and parent.
I can get another wife and child, making 20m is tough
I don't have a child , I'm single , always has been , my mother passed 3 years ago , I'd save my dog but it isn't part of the choices so I'd save the 20M this way I could live a sad luxurious life , alone.
You don't have $20m either, so either you're not saving shit or just follow the prompt.
I'd save myself, then the money. Not sure why this is difficult. The money is the only thing in the fire that is helpless to save itself. Those people all have legs.
A person who thinks all the time…
My dogs, them little fuckers don’t talk back. 😎
My mother and $20M will never betray me. I'll save them.
Child. Your partner would want you to do that, and if your mother wouldn't want that then all the more reason to get your kid. $20m is just money. Lots of great money that would impact your life insanely positively. But it ain't your kid.
Mom and brother.
I'm not married and I don't have kids, so it's an easy $20M and my mom.
Assuming I had all four though, it's so much tougher. I'd definitely save my kids, but it's literally a toss up between my mom and my spouse. My mom has plenty of years left and has saved my life numerous times when I fucked up through my life, so even though she doesn't think I owe her anything, I always will think I do. My spouse, I've never really had a partner that I didn't feel like, "What can you offer me" isn't a big component of their decision to be with me. Sure, they've loved me, but there were always those nagging behaviors that told me, "If you don't provide X, Y, or Z I'm out of here."
I'll just take my mum, I don't have any of the other things and the money is the only other I actually want , so I'll go money as well if I hypothetically have that in this situation too.
My mom and the 20 million that spontaneously appeared in the living room. Guess I'm buying her another house. I should probably hit up a laundromat...
Wife and 20 million
$20M and my PC 😎
If I had all 4 there, itd probably be the 20 million and mom. The money is the non-negotiable because its that life changing.
Also, if I'm in grief after losing my wife and/or child, I wouldnt be able to take proper care without one or the other. So, Mom is the most secure answer here for my own sanity.
My wife and my dog. Money can be earned again
My mother and the money. I don’t plan having sex anytime in the distant future, so no kids
My child and the $20M
My spouse can go to hell and so can my mother
Wife and child. The money is meaningless without them. I would leave my mother because even though she can't move on her own, she is fireproof.
I would just have to get a new urn to hold her remains since her current one would be scorched from the fire.
Easy. My child.
Kid>wife>pets>money>star wars collectibles>legos>laptop>tv>12 pack of coke>mother>xbox>pop tarts>the fire itself>mother in law>sister in law
20 million ( ´͈ ᵕ `͈ )◞♡
My kid and the $20M.
Ironically, if there were only two people in the scenario, I'd save the people and let the money burn. But since I have to let someone die no matter what I do, and I have to save one person no matter what I do, I choose to save the one with the longest lifespan left and the money is to help us deal with the pain and rebuild.
Since I have neither a child nor $20M, this is purely hypothetical, and in that case I would still save my wife and child first.
My mom is elderly and in poor health, and she definitely would be mad at me if I saved her over her favorite DIL and her only grandchild.
As for the money, either it isn't mine, in which case it would be no great loss to me, or it is mine, and I'd probably have had it insured (don't even try to say I wouldn't have it insured yet, I'm far too anxious to allow that much of my own money to just be sitting in my house without taking some kind if precautions).
I have none of these. But I would save my brother over my own life.
No child & im not married so im taking the 20m & my mother easily
I doubt you have $20m either
So you dont have a child and you're not married, but you do have a mother and 20 million dollars? Perhaps take some time to think about that
Child and money. Can always find a new wife and not having to deal with parents b/s anymore would be a bonus.
Family. What kind of psychopath values money over human lives? Capitalists, to be clear. I meant that as rhetorical but I know someone would comment it so getting ahead of it
Assuming I have all of them, the wife and kid. If I have them all, I have a fireproof safe like any other person who has 20 million cash. I'll dig through the rubble when it's safe.
I don’t have children. I am saving my mum, and it’s not even close. My mum will always love me unconditionally and would never turn her back on me if I were, for example, to ever lose my job, go through depression, or have any financial difficulties. Statistics say that there is 40% chance that my wife divorces me. Those aren’t very good odds.
Short of me committing an atrocities such as mass raping of women and children, I can rest assured that my mother will always be there th back me up.
If I had 20M there is no way we’d all be in the same house at once.
My mom and the 20 million
I don't have a wife or child
My child (furbaby) and my mother. $20M would be in a fire proof safe so it's protected so it'll be there safe and I'm single so no wife/husband.
The money, obviously.
I have no child, I do not have a wife, and I absolutely despise my mother, so can I get the 20 million twice over?
Children and wife. Not really even a decision. My mom would even agree.
If I have $20 million stashed away in my home, I'm too stupid to live or a drug dealer.
spouse and child.
in every scenario you'd be sacrificing yourself for two of these things. at least they can maybe keep on living.
In my current situation, my significant other. I don’t have any of the rest
I guess my boyfriend and my mother. Because I don’t have a child. But in reality, I would save my dog. My boyfriend and my mum have opposable thumbs and can get themselves out.
My son and I are gonna be rich!?
20 mil... twice
Wife, mother
My wife and child. My mother is dead and the 20 million dollars isn’t mine.
Question. Does my wife do anal?
Money and child. You can always get another wife. Mom would tell me to save child and money.
Get the cash, then go back and make sure you got it all.
I've yet to lose my virginity (I have no spouse or child). Assuming my dad and sister have successfully evacuated themselves and all our stuff, it'll be up to me to save my mom and as much of the money as possible.
my mother is an abusive narcissist, and kids are basically being given away, but I can’t replace $20M in cash or my partner… so that’s an easy decision
I would save my hard drives and my mom bc I don't have the other items you listed
The money, I can deal with greif I can’t deal with absolute poverty
I don’t have a child or a wife, and I sure as hell don’t have $20m, so I’ll pick only my mom
Fuck your question
alright
Wife, child.
(1)Not married. (2)Don’t have children. (3)Fuck my mom and don’t know my biological father. (4)Give me the legitimate $20,000,000 USD into my account fool.
Probably my child and $20M. I can find a new wife and give my kid a good life with that kind of money. She would understand.
I don’t have a child I don’t have a wife my mother has at most 3 months left to live and I don’t have 20m. Besides it’s never specified that it’s MY $20M. Just that I can save it. Why would I save someone else’s money? Anyway I either just walk out the door or burn with the house. Emulsion only takes a few seconds anyways.
Money and wife I get 20m and a wife in this scenario so yeah it’s a win win
Depending on denomination, 20m USD weighs between 200kg and 20 tons
So im gonna go with child and wife.
Besides, 20mil in cash in a house means you get investigated by the federal police. Better the evidence be destroyed and learn a sharp lesson in keeping architectually dangerous amounts of cash in my home.
20 M and spouse.
Spouse and money. I'd love the other two immensely, but my mothers quality of life is on the decline anyway. I don't yet have kids so I can't be certain yet, but from where I am now, I'd be childfree for 20mil in an instant.
Spouse saves the kid, I save the money - GO TEAM!
anyone picking the money is a moron, that's what insurance is for.
My child would be the first pick, and between my mother and my spouse, id pick whichever one was the least physically capable.
Mom's dead all my exes live in Texas, so I'd take the cash, and the kid can help me rescue it.
Surely it's gotta be partner and child. Obviously don't wanna lose Mom but she's older and would prob want to save her grand kid and their parents
try to save them all n money same time n kids mostly and rest are adults n should save self just yell how to and for them to do so , need a improved standard with news anchors n reporters fact checkers etc as should brake it down better and not call all misinformation off by 10 to 30 percent a lie but say mis-information off by a little up to 20%, say off by too much 21 to 35% , or say almost a lie if 36 to 49% off ,and most likely or is a lie if 50% or more wrong but the person can say-in correcting the situation they where just off by more then they thought and it was not intentional so not a bad intended lie or a intended misinformation or lie for self gain and will try to get closer to the truth n facts more often and know many things are debatable so can go up or down a category if we all get all the info , so do something similar as a standard to be taught in schools colleges churches and done in-for the public so we are better informed as not black or white world , better since a lie is usually a lie because it is intended as spreading something not true not just off or way wrong or to the point of being naive or even to the point of saying something stupid
Well with 4 children i'd be saving them first. Followed by my wife even though we're seperated. Sorry mum.
The 20M. I don't have a kid/wife, and my mother died years ago
I can make another child and I didn’t want the first one anyway!
You can buy a lot of happiness with $20MM
20m and husband easy
Mother and child. My husband would save himself and the money 🥴
5 years ago, I'd only picked up the money and walked away. Mean while, my ex and mom screamed at me, "You're picking me, right? Then I closed the door and left. Today, I'd pick my spouse and children.
Here's the thing-it is EXTREMELY unlikely that if you have 20 million in the house, and no other assets. If you have it, you "probably" have more somewhere else, so losing it isn't the end of the world. Also, 20 million in cash, is roughly 20 suitcases, or at minimum, several massive duffle bags.
As to who I would save? The person I thought couldn't save themselves and needed help the most.
Wife and child.
Why only two?? I would try to save my entire family and leave the money behind.
My mother obv. I never plan in getting married or having children. I can get 20M with saving money but I only get one mom in a lifetime.
The fire
Mom And Kid
My child and $20 million. I got no spouse and as for my mother ,well she always wanted to be cremated
Unmarried and have no kids. Going for my mother and the $20M, assuming my dog is already safe
My kid and I hope my wife would make the same choice.
I'm just taking the money, I ain't tryina keep the mooches that keep spending it
/s
I'm not keeping 20m, in cash, in my home, unless I already have one hell of a fire proof safe. If I have the money in this hypothetical, it's already safe from the fire.
I don't have a kid, so no worry there, but for sake of hypothetical, I guess I do.
I'd save the mother, then save wife while she is carrying the child. If the child is too old to be carried in this, then they need less help getting out.
In this situation, my mother is the only one that might actually need the help, the other two I can help one help the other.
Wife and 20m.
Wife and child. Mother's dead. Yes, "yOu wOuLn'Dt hAvE 20M" but there's a higher chance of me earning it than my mother coming back to life and being in my house.
I feel like I would have to be a sociopath to even ask this question.
My child and my wife. My mom's on borrowed time anyway. Kidney failure for the 3rd time and probably isn't getting on a transplant list. Dialysis is her life right now.
My wife is worth $20M and she can magically create kids. Easy answer for me
Wife and $20mil. I chose my wife. We can always have another baby.
I'm just saying the 20m is the only thing without legs. Is every other option just sitting there in a house fire?
If I have 20m I'm living on my own anyway. Don't want to be tied down with commitment, so no kids or husband. If my mom is visiting ofc I'm saving her, and my 2nd thing would be the 20m.
Anyone who does not say child has no child.
Who cares about money over lives? I would save them all or die trying!
Gotta get creative here. Combine all of the above into one item tagged as "family", then they count as #1, then your money #2 lol
The more I read Reddit the more I'm glad I'm single lol
My son and 20M
Heavily depends on my mother's condition because currently she's in an urn. A living mom may get me to rethink some things lol
My child, my husband.
child and mother wife can follow behind w money
Mother and child
Kid and wife
throws child, money, and spouse out of house in that order. I then start huffing the smoke and embrace oblivion
....thank you for illustrating exactly how empty my life is...
my dog, obvs.
20 mill and mother. The rest is (comparably) easy to replace. You only get 1 mom and the 20 mill let's you start over
Yeah I don't have any of those options right now
Save the 20 million then spend 10 million making the fire look like an "accident"
Just the money.
(JK in case my family ever finds this comment)
If I have 20 mil it would be insured...tell your spouse to hold your kid then save your spouse and then go back and get your mother for the second person you save.
Kid and spouse
Husband and child, easy
Child and spouse and it'd kill me. My dad is my best friend and no dollar amount if worth the lives of any of those options. Sadly he'd understand and would expect me to make that impossible choice.
Child & $20M
20 million and my mom, i’m too young to marry and any fetus i can’t abort means i’d make my kd ratio 1/2
Mother and child.
If I had a spouse. They have the best chance of making it out kn their own.
The house is insured for fires.
Easy. I grab the wife and mom, the wife grabs the money, and mom grabs the kid, and the kid grabs me
Literally I have none of those, so cash it is.
Physical cash loses value with inflation, you might be losing $1m/year or more by letting it sitting around uninvested.
Wife. I can make money, I can make children, mom had her time.
My child and spouse don't currently exsist, so mother and money
Well, I don't have children, my parents passed away a few years ago, and I certainly don't have 20 million. So myself and my spouse.
Child 100%
Just the $20 mil and run out, then I wouldn’t have to share it with anyone!
Who the hell has 20 million just laying around their house?
Child and the money. I'm divorced, and my parents are deceased.
Do you have any idea how much weight and volume 20 million dollars would be in 100$ bills? I could not carry it in 3 trips.
(Google is a friend for this.) Google says 1 million in 100$ bills is 22 lbs.
22 lbs x 20 is
440 lbs. for 20 million
1 million is 0.4 cubic feet
20 million is 8.0 cubic feet
If the 20 million was in gold or something, it would be re- solidified into a heavy puddle after the fire. If it was an original Picasso or Monet or something, it would be insured.
Child? I have four, can I choose all four as one item? If so, wife and kids. If not, the two youngest, as the older two are adults, and they, my mother, and my wife can be responsible for their own safety.
Child->wife->mom->dogs->cats->money.
Child
Husband and child.
If I've got 20 mil in a house fire that should absolutely be insured at some level. Save the irreplaceable, child and wife, maybe mother if she's closer and more accessible than wife, but save who you can as quickly as you're able. Let your insurance focus on replacing material possessions
$20M.
No kids, no spouse, and my mother's been dead for 4 years.
Mother and the money. No wife and happily childless.
Me and the kids be rollin' deep!
Wife and child. My mother would understand that, and grabbing money over human life would haunt me forever.
I don’t have a child, 20M, or a wife/Husband, so my mom and the house.
Child.
Husband and the money. We don't have a kid and my mom is already in declining health.
Money twice
I have 2 kids though, if it’s a hypothetical only, I pick child and wife. Otherwise, I pick both kids. It’s what my wife would want.
The money and my woof woof. The rest can figure it out.
$20M, of all the options that is the hardest to replace.
I like how everyone's saying "oh I don't have a spouse or a kid so this is easy" as if you have a pile of $20 mil in your kitchen lol
