The owner will also lose citizenship and be deported. Where? Who knows.
A South African Emerald Mine, duh!
That way they can work off their sins and think about what they’ve done.
The whole "South African Emerald Mine" thing is just totally fake news from the Elon haters. Never happened.
The mine was in Zambia...
Not gonna lie, you had me in the first half
This is why it's stupid to name a country South Africa in south Africa.
Not as dumb as calling a country just America in north America
Or calling your planet a synonym for dirt.
So you're saying the emerald mine which Elmo claims is fake was in south Africa not South Africa
And it isn’t slaves that work in the mine. Totally fake news.
They’re indentured servants the Musk family simply purchased.
Is it called The Emerald City?
I was talking region not nation, because I assumed they would need more than one mine for all the disgruntled Tesla owners
Oh it’s gotta be Mars doesn’t it? Going SpaceX freight service.
Dark Mirror Futurama.
Isn't that just futurama?
"The scary door"
They push you out of a boat in your truck and you stay whatever you wind up. Don't worry, Elon designed it to work as a boat. I'm sure you'll get far.
Probably cheaper to buy a second CT and use the parts for repairs.
"Still like the truck."
"Going to ask others whether this behavior is acceptable."
"It happened on a yugo couple of times, so it is pretty common"
“I’ve seen this problem before by another car manufacturer so it must be a standard problem on all trucks”
*standard feature
The 3-cylinder $3995 beast!
"Going to open a ticket, hope they can fix it soon #elonpls"
They can do an Over The Air update in no time!
I should probably cancel my reservation
Joke's on you, we all had our reservations.
Excellent wordplay Wunderbraten.
Others: "You are dead to me for making Elno look bad."
This is how I picked it up from the dealer. Do you think this is acceptable or nah?
Almost killed me and my family yesterday. Other than that I still love the truck.
“Enjoy your repair journey” is a real quote I read one time when a cyber stuck owner was consoling another cyber stuck owner. Imagine having a car that takes so long to get fixed it becomes a journey and liking that because you have Stockholm syndrome.
Stuckhole syndrome.
“Still a huge Tesla fan and I know @elonmusk will make it right”
Elon Musk would have their mother killed to put a dollar in his pocket and not lose a moment of sleep over it. I don't understand why these people think that he's their best friend.
DJT has entered the conversation.
“The Tsar would fix it if only he knew about it. It the Boyers who are the problem”
It's a weird crowd, they love trump, big V8 trucks and hate electric cars, but also love CYBERTRVCK.
that's the one
”Outstanding! Best truck fragments I’ve ever owned!”
lol these fanboys are so hard for Elon they could ID his dick in a line up while blindfolded.
They can taste the difference.
They can smell the difference, but they'd still taste it after. Just for funsies.
With socks off
Taste the difference, taste the musk
And you know they would be one of those people that thinks it was a good idea to give him 56 billion bucks.
"Its still really comfortable"
“He deserves that bonus”
It’s a new product, it’s natural to expect a few flaws.
I will say that we have seen a number of these CTs with complete steering / suspension failure like this one.
There has to be some type of design flaw that makes the whole front end very weak.
Just add it to the list of CT design failures.
One is that the A arms are sized for a Yugo, one of the reasons for the very short suspension travel which left than half of a Raptor.
Yea, the CT just seems so rigid. It is almost like the engineer for chassis dynamics was left out of the design meetings.
But you're probably correct that the components are just not strong enough. Or the lack of overall chassis flexibility is causing greater stress on those components.
My suspicion is that they spent billions and years trying to fulfill Musk's promises of being completely bulletproof, the exo skeleton and the 10nm tolerances among others, and when they only had little money and time they rush the whole design, had a close to non existent real world testing and the end result is a vehicle with a lot of very evident faults.
We need to realize Tesla's situation a couple of years ago, the semi production was, and is, stalled, the low cost car was in limbo, there were no new products or even major upgrades in the pipeline, and the Cyber truck was the hail Mary to revive the enthusiasm for the brand, but it was an engineering nightmare to design and create under the CEO promises, they tried and failed spectacularly
Forgot to add that the investment in AI and robotics were in their infancy and the potential payout was years away
Musk calls himself the world’s foremost expert on manufacturing, which means he’s probably run off any actual talent Tesla had in manufacturing.
The CFO was the defacto boss while Musk screwed around with Twitter and he quit over a year ago. Which aligns well with Tesla’s recent string of stupid decisions.
Almost like it was designed by people that don't understand trucks, and just used parts intended for cars because they were available and cheap.
I don't think that is the problem, everything in the CT seems new design, it was just cheaply designed, ties, clips, tape, low tolerances, under engineered components, every day brings a new form of failure.
I have no doubt thar Tesla design and engineering team would be able to design a well rounded EV pickup truck eventually but they didn't realize how expensive in money and time it is specially under the CEOs demands, when Ford designs a new F150 it take billions, years and millions of miles of testing before going into full production. OTOH if Ford truck group fails as spectacularly as Tesla's everyone from the VP down will have to update their CVs and the stock price will take a beating, in this case Elon gives a couple of interviews and the price not only held but goes up
Rigid AND stupidly heavy. A truly winning combo!
Ah, that’ll buff out. How many times have we all experienced this?
"still had fun! totally not tesla's fault it was mine!"
"Maybe we're doing something wrong."
"Elon please help me out."
That's what you have to accept as a 1st gen buyer of a 100k$ car
Favorite of that was the guy who had a wife and kids. His car exploded in the driveway and he was pissed tweeting at tesla. Then when people were hating on the car he got defensive over the car. It's a piece of shit that could have killed you
“I’m a long time shareholder and love Elon and the Vin on my Model Y is 3420 but endangering the safety of my family seems bad. Has anyone else had this problem?”
“Still like being cucked”
Looks as good as ever imo
Good thing Tesla is making vehicles so good that the CEO needed 56 billion dollars to stay motivated and keep designing these wonderful machines!!
Don't call him "CEO"! He's the Chief Engineer!
Of sexual harassment
So he is a CEOSH
I thought he was Founder ?
And Father of the Nation, Glorious Leader and Sunlight of the Heavens.
Founder*
*legally named co-founder after joining Tesla years after its start, due to paying for the privilege
I feel like that has to drive the engineering staff crazy at Tesla. I’m an Electrical Engineer and there have been a few times in my career where executive types tried to pretend like they had technical knowledge that they didn’t and that was mildly annoying, but to see your CEO go on media blitzes, the podcast circuit, etc pretending to be deep into the detailed design and contributing technical knowledge when you know good and well he’s an idiot that’s only getting in your way would be maddening.
Chief Engineering Oaf
Pretty sure this was the one that hit the sign in Beverly Hills a few months ago. I remember because I was laughing so hard at how the wheels just fell right off.
I think you're right. Probably not repaired as nobody repairs faulty refrigerators.
Excuse me, but there are plenty of fridge repair specialists. I think you meant to say nobody repairs dumpsters
You're not going to believe this, but I repaired dumpsters as part of the work I did for a portable welding repair company. It sucks ass. Oh lordy does it stink...
Sounds like you can put "Cybertruck repair technician" on your resume, then
I'm sure most dumpsters have more miles on the odometer than any cybertruck too.
You are now officially the SECOND person I know who ever had a job repairing dumpsters!
So Tesla has options if they're looking for the right specialist!
Your the first person I met that knows 2 persons that had a job repairing dumpsters
If we’re being honest, HVAC guys, and dumpster rehab specialists (if that’s a thing), would both be appalled by the construction of a Cubertruck.
Three months ago, an early adopter!
Imagine your throttle gets stuck and your wheels lock up all at once.
I was wondering if it was the one making the rounds yesterday that slammed into a house and then was suspiciously towed away within minutes.
I bet they ran over a stick and the car just blew itself apart.
They didn't read the manual. You have to put it in 'Stick Mode' if they are going to drive like maniacs. Warrenty voided.
The stick must be completely flat or it's a no go.
It's the option on the tablet labeled "Stick Shift", inside the "Driving Modes" submenu of "Manual Configuration" in Settings. It's protected of course so you'll need to scan a QR code and authorize it in on your phone app which can be found in the Amazon App Store on Android, or can be sideloaded on a jailbroken iPhone 7S or earlier. And while you're in the app you can schedule your weekly service appointment.
It's pretty simple when you get the hang of it.
Is there any backstory available about this? I’m just curious because it doesn’t look like it was in an impact?
The wheels achieved self awareness and said 'I'm out of here'?
If you watched Rubber, that tire is going on a psychic murder spree.
Omg so glad to see this comment.
Ah a fellow viewer of quality films I see!

Well, fuck going anywhere on the highway for a while.
It went over a speedbump and the front fell off
That's not very typical
Concerning
Forgot to activate speedbump mode
At least it's not made of cardboard, I guess.
unlike ships, I would not rule it out for this pile of shit
Remember when Tesla was building their cars with wood trim from the local hardware store?
I do, lol
Or cardboard derivatives.
Well hopefully it was towed outside the environment.
I thought the same thing but couldn't find anything. Looks the front axle just came off completely
I think it’s from a few months ago when a CT ran into the Beverly Hills hotel sign. Someone else posted a link below.
It's not that one. That one clearly still had front wheels on it.
This has to be the guy that was testing the steering lag.
Looks like the left wheel turned left and the right wheel turned right. As designed.
We have these 3+ ton death traps on the road, attempting to kill everyone. Maybe the ones that broke down in the first 20 miles were stopped by some unknown god of safety that we should be worshipping for taking them off the road.
some unknown god of safety that we should be worshipping
Yep, that's my Elon. Man's a genius.
100k banked, warranty is instantly void, bricks the damn thing 20 minutes after it leaves the lot.
The Andy Warhol of late-stage-capitalism.
He fully deserves the XX billions he's due for his performance art.
Perhaps the cars felt so much ethical pressure that they’re taking themselves off the road by any means necessary.
Wheel retaining mode is an upcoming OTA update...
For an extra $12000 a year
At this point is seems like something held together with superglue and duct tape is stronger than a cyber truck!
something held together with superglue and duct tape is stronger than a cyber truck!
You say that like they're two different things.
I wonder if its related to how thin the upper control arms are.
i mean when the fight is control arms vs concrete walls are there ever control arms that are NOT too thin?
CONCERNING!
“But it’s the best truck I have ever driven”
For 10 miles when the front tires fell off
Steering error, it looks like it steered right into whatever it hit very successfully
Elmo made the first vehicle in automotive history to have a steering error.
i don’t think i’ve ever had the pleasure of a video of a destroyed car actually making me giggle, but my hate for this piece of shit made it possible
"Car is great when it's not disassembling itself"
@elonmusk @tesla what will you do about this?????? Still love the truck though!
Steer by wire random
It's all good bro, Tesla will make it right with an OTA software update.
Voided warranty for turning the steering wheel using more than one finger?
Pinky steering gone wrong
As an internet mechanic, I see where the problem lies - you got no wheels
Well, the wheels are there, just not attached.
warning message:
"steering error: please try exiting the vehicle and re-entering to see if the issue is resolved"
Woke Wheels are the real problem now
Wheels are old tech, stuck in the mud tec...(ok maybe not go with that).
Anyway, square wheels are the future. Cutting edge (this is good, really on brand) that disrupts those old ideas about locomotion.
Oops, Tesla PR here, am I in the wrong part of the internet ?
/ignore all that. How do I delete ?
Just a feature.
Sorry... It's "also a feature"
Or "an Easter egg"
Firmware update for the lug nuts failed
probably just opened a door to cause that
This whole sub brings me so much joy.
Good thing the guy who insisted this car be built is getting $55b
That’ll buff out
Driven on uneven pavement?
Oh boy that’s for sure totaled
Owner may never financially recover from this
Fucking thing weighs 6500lbs, just getting it off the road is going to be expensive
My Cybertruck rear ended a minivan with a family of 5 inside of it, drove off road and hit a ditch, but somehow went airborne and did a 720, crashed into a tree and split in half. One of the halves crashed into a daycare and exploded and created a black hole that sucked in everything within a mile. The other half went to my house and fucked my wife and took my children….but it’s still the best vehicle I have ever owned! Thaaaaankks Eloooon!
“I made left turn and my front wheels collapsed, 75 miles after I bought it. Still the best truck I’ve ever owned.”
That’s one violent car wash…
In one of the Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy books, I remember a bit about a new "indestructible" starship named after the Titanic. Upon launch, it was barely able to complete its first radio transmission - an S.O.S - before suffering a "catastrophic failure of existence." Seeing a CT apparently dead in its parking spot is giving that same vibe.
Beautiful.
Oops looks like a wankapanzer took a tumble
Another piece of cyber junk has hit the street!
"Front Fell Off" no longer just a meme.
Aside from the truck nearly killing me by the axel coming apart, still love the truck.
Looks about right, toasters don't belong on the road. Neither do people that want to drive toasters.
The front end of the CT is in serious need of serious redesign. Other Teslas are weak, but in a 7000 pound (empty) truck it's an expected catastrophic failure.
The upper control arms are hilariously small, gocarts have a more solid front suspension setup.
When people say “I can drive it til the wheels fall off”, is this what they mean? 🤔
Why is that thing even allowed on the street?
So…when does the US government—which has subsidized this abysmally-managed company to the tune of hundreds of millions dollars—finally step in to protect the public, whose money they gave fElon to run this company into the ground?
That's the neat part, they don't.
It's just a flesh wound!
100k for a fucking meme
They went full retard with this car. Never go full retard.
Cybertruck stick drift
!!
Wheels on the cucktruck go: whomp whomp
Wheels on the cucktruck go: whomp whomp
Did not pass his airplane ✈️ license.
Gray parts car 🚙
That. Does. Seem. Critical.
The Cybertruck is banged up but you should see the shopping cart!
Where the hell is the NTSB? Did Muskrat buy them off?
"What happened?"
"Turned left"
How did this thing have such severe damage to the front wheels/suspension and basically no damage to the visible body? Was there a catastrophic failure of the suspension? And everything just folded on itself? So wierd.
Just mount some skids and it should be fine.
Russia’s losing less vehicles than Elon
So- did the wire snap or something?
No airbag, so it wasn’t a big impact
I have questions….
Reminded me of the Smashup Derby toys (yeah, I'm old... Look it up on yt)
Given the results for having the horn stuck on, I’m gonna guess that’s a 17 million dollar repair.
