Thank you! We’re also working with a trainer/behaviourist. It’s just the progress is very slow… Good luck to you too!

9 months old dog is reactive towards people

It’s getting more and more frequent… he was totally fine as a pup and in the last month he’s been getting more and more reactive, to the point where we can’t sit down at a terrace anymore without him barking at everyone. He’s barking at people on almost every walk too… it’s so emotionally draining because I don’t know how and why this happened! He was such a brave little puppy, and now he’s so anxious.

Also his bark is loud and really scary, he even lunges at people. Small dogs get away with it… but mine is a big black dog, a Labrador / golden retriever / German Shepherd mix. He can’t get away with being reactive! :(

Do you have any suggestions? Anyone been through this?

Awesome, thanks. I think then We’ll stick with the Portuguese way (still probs very busy too!) as a first experience .

Amazing, thank you for the advice! I think we’ll do exactly that. And I’m pretty sure she will book ahead, private only. I’d like to have some of the communal experience as well eg. breaking bread with my fellow pilgrims and sharing stories. Can you/ should I book single beds ahead in the shared beds albuerges?

Could you please elaborate? 🙏🏼

Haha right! Yeah my mum wanted to use their service but I think we can book ourselves

Great to know, thanks! Hadn’t realised there’s a distinction between public and private albergues!

Should you book ahead?

Will be doing the last 100 km of the Portuguese way with my mum in September. I’ve been reading lots of stories about the bed race etc, do you recommend booking ahead? Can albergues even be booked ahead?

I’m hearing lots of different opinions on this.. is it due to the time of the year maybe? We’ll be going in September, I’m thinking it might be slightly less crowded?

Interesting alternative, thank you for your suggestion. What about the difficulty?

Was told various versions of anxiety by 5 different doctors/therapists, only to get diagnosed with ADHD aged 27, explained everything.

“Best” Last 100 km route for me and my mom?Discussion

Hi,

I’ll be doing 100 km of Camino with my 60 year old mum this year. Neither of us have done it before. She can’t do more than that, so we settled for the last 100 km of the Portuguese way, because I’ve always been drawn to the Portuguese route more than any other. But since the last 100 km of the Portuguese way are in Spain anyway, I’m reconsidering whether this is the best option, or there are other last km that would be more beautiful or a better first experience? Or should I stick to my gut?

Would welcome opinions 💛

Salomon Speedcross 6 for the Portuguese Coastal way?

Hi I just dropped what felt like a lot of money on this pair of trail running Salomons. Is it the right choice? We’ll be going in September. Thanks!

lol my boyfriend and I drive to Sweden consistently for vegetarian produce! It’s SOOO much better there

I love BRUS, but OP was looking for small, not crowded, not required 30 beers on tap. BRUS is all of those things

Nature day trips from Copenhagen?

Hi, been living here for almost 6 years. Would love to drive somewhere out in nature today, but I’ve done all the usual suspects several times (dyrehaven, møns/stevns klint, the blue water lake, Gribskov etc.) Any lesser-known, jaw-dropping places? Lol Thank you!!

Edit: Tusind TAK everyone for all the amazing suggestions!! I feel like I’m really looking forward to the summer now with all these great places to visit! ❤️

28f… yeah that’s a good point, thank you!

Yikes, but that doesn’t sound like a good way to treat one’s body..

Thanks for sharing! I’ll wait it out then, can’t imagine it can be good for my body to push it when I’m in this state lol.
