I like the idea that there’s no such thing as laziness.

The mod community around cities skylines is legendary.

Just got back in to CS:1 and it’s still addictive as hell thanks in no small part to the incredible talent and work and coordination of the mod community. It’s something truly special.

Yup. The frustrating truth that we’re all late to someone else’s party.

City Nerd doesn’t have nice things to say about the IE for commuters.

It’s not a high median income per capita when it comes to cost of living, and the likelihood of one major medical event putting someone in to permanent debt - even with insurance.

Wealth inequality is so bad that we are really just pretending to have a middle class now.

Although - debt is power, and if Biden has his way, medical debt won’t count against your credit score.

Also - I can’t imagine Gen Z paying outrageous medical bills and putting up with it, so this may soon change. A sort of - collective bargaining by just never “paying”. - when you are a hundred dollars in debt, it’s your problem. When you are a million dollars in debt, it’s the bank’s problem.

Finding a job in IT or Computer Science. The job market took a dump as we’ve entered a bubble of layoffs being good for stock prices(?). The application process is now incredibly hostile to folks who are neurodivergent.

Organize. Collective bargaining and a labor movement are the only sure way that things will ever get better.

We built them in the US. didn’t maintain them. And then tore them down as part of urban renewal which had NOTHING to do with structural racism and undoing a generation of progress in the name of “small government”.

Bumble is such a scam now. Is there anything I can do as an adult without having to provide value to shareholders first?

Tech is going to contract as soon as he layoff blood letting ends. And it’s going to contract faAaaaaaaat.

TL;DR

Citrus Magic

Damprid hanging bags

Good ventilation in kitchen - powerful range hood with lots of CFM

Nag Champa insence a few hours before guests

Air purifiers in every room

Depending on the “cause.” Citrus magic pucks and Damprid do wonders. Also - if you do a lot of cooking make sure you have a really powerful range hood that has plenty of CFM and actually vents OUTSIDE.

I have a damprid bag hanging in the shower of my bathroom permenately - it keeps the bathroom from getting musty from all the standing humidity.

Lastly - if you are having guests over - some nag nag champa insence a couple of hours before guests arrive will help cover smell that maybe we get used to or don’t notice when in a cramped or stuffy living space.

Bonus - If you really want to micromanage or live in a tiny space with a couple of dogs like me - get those little tube shaped air purifiers and stick one in every room and turn it up to 11 when you leave the room. It will help pick up particles and dander out of the air and do some filtration.

Good luck OP!

Reddit users are protecting themselves. Also - my company that I got laid off from - as part of severance - had a no disparagement clause.
