I don’t even know what kind of interchange this is anymore
Sharing a CityThis doesn’t have all the frontage roads or express lanes though. It needs express lanes for at least one freeway, express entrance lanes for the perpendicular freeway, and frontage roads complete for all of the directions.
I’m not even making this unrealistic, that describes 635 and 75, 635 and 35
Atlanta where 14 meets 85/285
Talking about south Fulton parkway? Yeah that interchange is a mess 😭.
I literally was thinking about this lol, I’ve only been to Dallas once and I see a lot of similarities with this interchange
Or Los Angeles
Nah it makes way too much sense for Dallas and it only goes off in 4 directions. We need at least 4 more outlet directions and more spaghetti looking overpasses.
I swear I remember driving through an interchange extremely similar to this one in DFW
Came here to say this lmao
Bruh my initial thought was a “Texas” interchange
It’s a Stack Overflow
CS2 got a lot of stuff wrong… but this I think proves that the road tools aren’t one of them.
Whichever dev or devs came up with the new road tools deserve a pat on the back. By far the best part of CS2.
That dev gets the Ewan McGregor Award for Best Performance with Dogshit Material
And I dont mind the Prequels!
lmao, great analogy!
Ong, that’s the only reason I’d pick it up despite all the turmoil
I’d still recommend waiting another year or so till they get the asset uploader working. The only problem there is that we need enough folks to buy the game and keep playing it for Paradox to keep investing money in it. I’m hopeful that it’s too big of a property to just write off after one really bad year.
To be honest, the roads are the best part but it’s also the worst part because then when you go back to CS1 because of all the other issues… the old road tools make you pull your hair out. hahaha
Oh yeah, I’m just very proud of myself from refraining from buying this long, considering I’m a big cities skylines fan
with the latest mods it is definitely moving in the correct direction. The modders are going to step in and save the day. Just sucks that they don’t get paid nearly as much as they should be.
I’ve actually thought about paying say 50 cents or $1 for an asset. even 25 cents maybe. Gets the creators a little something. Although it might get expensive with my 4,500 assets. lmao Could even do higher prices for premium assets and then obviously some folks would do them for free to get exposure.
Anyway… once they get all of the mods more stabilized so the game doesn’t crash and the custom assets works… that is when I think will be the time to take the plunge and make the purchase. That or try and hold out for a really big sale. Which I’m not sure would happen until maybe black friday.
Yessir fingers crossed
A bastardized (but not bad) stack interchange.
Looks like a bowl of spaghetti.
Then you will love my traffic cyclone. https://youtu.be/ZR7vBu3bi94?si=LWmLbVDYRIyoAFn3
this is so american its insane
how about a highway through an Frederick Law Olmstead designed park, the construction ruble from said highway being used to fill in the original Quarry rose garden. How american would that be ?
https://www.buffalorising.com/2016/11/the-future-of-delaware-parks-lost-quarry-garden/
I don't think we've figured out how to make interchanges using grids yet.
let me konw when you work out an interchange in a grid with parking in the middle of it
I'll work on that once I figure out why pedestrian paths make my roads bug out & how to keep my grids from going all wonky.
doesn't that defeat the purpose of a freeway
Isn't this just the Katy freeway?
No frontage..so that's a hard no
Phoenix, Arizona has one just like this.
You weren't supposed to use Texas as inspiration. It's a cautionary take.
The interchange is a stack interchange... but why the highway needs 24 lanes in the first place is a mystery.
Yeah there's no place in this world where a highway needs 24 lanes. It's where a metro line was long overdue and instead TxDOT decided to put their head in the sand like an ostrich.
But the extra lane keeps the traffic flowing ;)
Just one more lane I swear
texas
help this looks even worse than the interchanges in Toronto with the 401
this looks exactly like the 401/403/410 interchange in mississauga 😭
ur right except there is one loop in the middle
A mess A beautiful, concrete and asphalt mess 😁
Carry on, you do amazing work
Of all of the interchanges I've ever seen, this is sure one of them
I don’t know either, but it sure is pretty
Could be nerves interchange
I’d be so pissed if I was driving in the middle of nowhere then BAM all sorts of shit going down to just keep going straight lol
MAMAMIA.😅
*no Meatballs?
It looks like you took inspiration from the City of Atlanta on this one. Also the Texas Dept of Transportation approves.
America tm
Is there a mod that lets you have that merge lane on the highways? Mine always just go straight into the highway lane
Wherever you want the exit lane to meet the highway, bump it up an extra lane, then keep it at that width for the length of your desired merge.
Ahh, thank you. I’ll have to mess with it, yours looks so clean.
It’s beautiful 🥹
Spaghetti Junction.
Hey they/them you got some forest in your interchange
H-Town
that is an abomination. wanna know how to fix it? take the stock large traffic circle, and use it as a template to build an even bigger traffic circle. then, build some fucking trains because you should have done that long before this spaghetti was served
r/shittyskylines would be proud of this
Spaghetti !
It’s a spaghetti junction.
Completely unnecessary and I’m all for it 😂😁
Does it work?
Reminds me of a few on the 407 ETR near Toronto
I have never seen a more complicated 4 way id expect this type of spaghetti for a 6way
Some kind of monster
distorted bass starts
It's a "WTF IS A KILOMETER" interchange.
Not even close
Best example I could find closest to home… does it feel good to try and be right with no incentive? It’s fairly close only difference is the eastbound section doesn’t gain any lanes.
Sorry. Been up all night watching EDC. Truck driver. I see all these interchanges often. Some are smooth others are monstrosities.
A stupid one
That's the 10 in east Phoenix where it turns south.
Indiana roads be like
Indianapolis 💀
Spaghetti pile interchange
Literal Hell
Maybe I'm seeing it wrong, but there seems to be some double movements. Like from "south" to "east" it splits into two lanes that both go right or "east". Is there are reason for that?
The second picture looks like a view of 95 in Virginia heading towards DC and intersecting with 495 and 395.
Strained spaghetti
A TxDOT stack interchange. The wider highways are used in sections where two highways might merge, for example the mess in Houston that is where 290, 610, and I-10 all meet up.
This is what I would call a mixing bowl. There are a couple around where I live.
Angel hair
American
Is there any way to make those highway end lanes in CS1?
technically...
a system level interchange with collector-distributor lanes
Gives me Houston / Atlanta vibes
Smallest dallas interchange
when the offramp gets full so you add another one
One chinese and american collaborate on a project
certified by the Texas DOT
yeah this a mess. do better.. lmao jk but srsly it's quite bad
Gives me big Mixing Bowl energy.
Yes.
"Nightmare intersection"
Texas style
This reminds me of the interchange of I-495 & I-295 at National Harbor, south of Washington DC. Also the one at I-495 & VA-267 at the other side of the city.
Spaghetti It’s Spagetti
quad Freedom interchange 🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅
i call it the american
That's still a stach interchange, but TEXAN
Looks similar to the 75/96 interchange in Detroit except the entire thing is elevated and not sunken
average interchange in texas
Looks american
I call this the “what are we doing here”
Why is most of the north-east (from first image pov) freeway off the ground? It looks like it would be much cheaper to have all that on the base level and then stack the smaller left turn exits over that
Its actually about 20ft above ground for its entirety, that route also is serving as the bypass which is why it turns north there
Spaghetti interchange.
It’s the 4 way induced demand
It looks like a stack between three freeways and their frontage roads, with two freeways paralleling each other.
Why so many separate lanes? They're all effectively going to the same places. Trying to manage heavy traffic flow?
Texas DOT would like to get in contact with you.
Looks similar to Phoenix's Mini Stack, the junction between I-10, AZ-51 and Loop 202. I-10 curves from East/West to North/South, so in this interchange things get wonky if you're not prepared.
For example, going "straight" on I-10 East takes you south towards Tuscon, whereas if you want to continue east towards Tempe and Scottsdale, you have to take an "exit ramp" that cuts across the junction onto Loop 202.
I call this: "The Texas"
Freedom...
This is what I call a Texan Style Interchange.
I think it is call the “Houston”
This is horrifying
Looks like where the Palmetto meets the 836 in Miami lmao
Don't mess with Texas 😉
it's the American
Stacktastrophe
Stackpocalypse
Stack Attack
American
One more lane bro
It's stressful to look at
Looks like something you'd see in Dallas lmao
