The rental company has a no refund policy...

But now you want to ignore that get a refund? Why did you even bother to use this mystery company in the first place?

How could anyone offer an informed opinion with zero info, not even a link to the website?

Did you pay with a credit card? If so, do a simple charge-back. Since you're in India I assume that isn't the case and you instead gave all your money to what turns out to be an anonymous middleman.

You know India is full of scams... I surprised you'd fall for this...

Good luck with the mystery company.

Never put anything of value - especially with a lithium battery - in checked luggage. Put all the laptop packaging in your checked luggage, bring the laptop in your carry-on, put it all back together after you arrive.

Happy travels.

They pretty much limit their liability to zero.

If you check valuable or fragile items for travel within the U.S., we’re not liable for any loss, damage or delay of your items.

And of course cameras and camera equipment is included on their Fragile Items list.

They'll tell you that you should have made the gate agent aware that it was a camera package and it wouldn't have been checked.

Good luck.

Perhaps. Who knows. Maybe the OP will come back at some point.

It's just some entitled dummies trying to hack the carry-on luggage restrictions. Fuck them. I hope they got nailed for extra baggage charges at the gate check.

Happy travels.

I do agree that it's the vast majority of the planet

Once again, yes. That's exactly what I said. Why are you still arguing to agree with me? LOL

but it's also the vast majority of tourism-oriented countries where this is possible.

So you're saying there's not a single tourist oriented country in all of Asia, a landmass that covers almost one third of the planet's land surface? Because there's not a single country there that can deliver a postcard for a dollar to my apartment in the most popular tourist destination in all of North or South America.

In other words tell me you're European without having to say you're European. ;-)

You've picked a weird hill to die on. But feel free to carry on.

Bye for good now.

There's surely lots

Yes, that's exactly what I said. And by that I mean the vast majority of the planet.

If you're only talking from Disneyland to some highly developed major city sure it's possible. That's a very small section of the world.

If you pay up for shipping they will.

Nope, not for that price. There's lots of destinations all over the planet that can't deliver a postcard to another foreign country in less than a week. Even many developed nations can't pull that off for only 1-2 $/€.

Their post is flaired Travel, not Wilderness. 40L is loads of room for urban/semi-urban travel via hotels/hostels/etc. Many people get by with less.

Happy travels.

40L is more than enough for SE Asia. You'll have lots of room left over.

Here's a few thoughts and suggestions.  Have fun with your research and shopping.

Happy travels.

To begin, have you read the FAQ? There's a ton of flight info there.

After reading through that if you have specific questions then come on back.

Congrats on your first trip and also getting your first Passport. (Apply anytime.)

Happy travels.

I don't get all these luggage questions lately when everything regarding luggage and size/weight allowances is clearly explained right on the airline's website. As you'll see:

1.) The personal item can be anything up to 40 x 30 x 15cm (16 x 12 x 6in).

2.) Carry-on luggage can be anything up to 56 x 45 x 25cm (22 x 18 x 10in) including wheels and handles.

3.) The maximum weight for carry-on luggage is 23kg/51lb.

Happy travels.

Don't waste one brain cell or one second of your time worrying about assholes.

Happy travels.

This is a fantastic synopsis of the present day situation, well done. I got some insane deals via Scott's back in day but it has nosedived into mostly an irritant now - (but I of course still receive their emails, "just in case." You never know...)

Happy travels.

Many airlines will allow children as young as 5 to fly alone when they're using the unaccompanied minor service. Usually that service stops somewhere around 15 years old and it becomes optional until you're 17. So yes, 16 year olds fly solo all the time.

Having someone 18 along makes it even easier because you've got a pal to help figure out stuff with you. Get a letter from your parents stating that they know about your travel and that it's all good. So long as you don't appear to be a minor-at-risk or a runaway then you'll never need the letter, but it's handy for peace of mind.

Everything you need to know about accepted ID is here. Check with your airline too. As you'll see ID isn't a big deal when you're under 18.

Have fun with your research and happy travels.

You need to post more info. See Rule #2 on the right.

But you're referring to a domestic flight within the US, correct? Flying from the state of Georgia to the state of New York? And the ticket is on Frontier Airlines, yes?

So when you log onto Frontier's website and you go to "My Trips" and take a look at your reservation you're saying that something is telling you to go to Volaris?

Also, who did you purchase the flight from? Frontier? 3rd Party Vendor? Travel Agent?...

Good luck.

Sis is a monster. Kudos to her.

although I didn’t book directly with them I used skyscanner.

Ouch. So you've doubly fucked yourself.

Tough lesson and a mistake you hopefully won't make again.

Good luck.
