On what day of the holiday is best to write and send? If you’re going away for a week?
For those who still send postcards to loved ones from your vacation destination
QuestionDoesn't matter most of the time. There aren't many foreign destinations that will have a postcard delivered to another foreign country in less than a week.
If you pay up for shipping they will.
By pay up I mean spending 1-2 $/€
If you pay up for shipping they will.
Nope, not for that price. There's lots of destinations all over the planet that can't deliver a postcard to another foreign country in less than a week. Even many developed nations can't pull that off for only 1-2 $/€.
Correct. Poste Italiane charges I think north of 1.5E per postcard to the US, basic option, and has the magic ability to lose 2/5 all places in the same postbox on one day. Ask me how I know.
I (typical trip is 2-4 weeks) have been sending my little sister postcards for 2 decades, and nearly none arrive during my actual trip
Perhaps this is the Italian post?
There's surely lots but most popular destinations can do it for the price. Maybe not Uzbekistan or Kenya.
There's surely lots
Yes, that's exactly what I said. And by that I mean the vast majority of the planet.
If you're only talking from Disneyland to some highly developed major city sure it's possible. That's a very small section of the world.
I do agree that it's the vast majority of the planet but it's also the vast majority of tourism-oriented countries where this is possible.
I do agree that it's the vast majority of the planet
Once again, yes. That's exactly what I said. Why are you still arguing to agree with me? LOL
but it's also the vast majority of tourism-oriented countries where this is possible.
So you're saying there's not a single tourist oriented country in all of Asia, a landmass that covers almost one third of the planet's land surface? Because there's not a single country there that can deliver a postcard for a dollar to my apartment in the most popular tourist destination in all of North or South America.
In other words tell me you're European without having to say you're European. ;-)
You've picked a weird hill to die on. But feel free to carry on.
Bye for good now.
