Definitely keep going. There's no telling if the devs will ever change it.

And this weekend alone on my endless run with the 4x shiny charm and shiny weekend I've gone from 5 shiny starters owned to almost 300. Many of them legendaries, and many of them 2nd and 3rd tier shiny.

May as well just keep playing it, a bunch of paradox battles have been shiny too. So if the devs do change it, you'll be able to do another endless run and find them again

Having done a large endless run from Friday-today(5k floors), you see a LOTTTT of shiny paradox mons. So don't be too disappointed and def don't hold the run.

It does % damage. Either 1/16 or 1/8, doubled if they're a water type(which you can use soak to turn them into). Pair it with leech seed and curse and you do a metric ton of HP per turn.

Around wave 1-2,000 enemies start getting 30% hp recovery per turn. So something like this helps immensely to counteract that + their berries.

I found the Houlihan room in a link to the past by mistake as a kid. Thought it was just a normal cave.

Tried to find it again on later playthroughs and never could. Only to find out later that's because it's a glitch room.

You're not prioritizing items well. You have 0 vitamins on tinkaton. You're underleveled. No metal coats or fairy wings. While you can survive without a pickup mon it's not easy. You have basically 0 berries.

You gotta invest in your carry more until you're strong enough to start beating things like this up.

Gotta reevaluate your item choices.

Yeah I was talking the base rate. Which means you were only barely on the unlucky side.

I understand the sadness though. I just wanted to be sure you knew how the shiny charms worked so you could be more prepared and start finding more of them.

No one is getting many shinies in classic. It's all in endless with 4x charms. Even without the event. So no worries you're not crazy unlucky or anything.

If you wanna get yourself some shinies just get yourself a nice endless going and get those charms and you'll start cranking them in!

I did kill mine. Was just spamming and didn't pay close enough attention.

Shiny rates are not common. It's like 1/4000 or something. If you have no shiny charms it's going to be rare to find a shiny.

The shiny charms stack multiplicatively, so getting 4x of them is ridiculously important to actually finding a lot of shinies. I caught roughly 500 in 3k floors.

I've gone from 5 to 180+ shiny starters. And have now caught over 500 shinies according to my stats.

I'd only ever found one natural shiny before this, the other 4 I hatched. Getting the 4 charms is massive.

The hard part is getting your first few shinies. Once you have 5-6+ luck it gets way easier to farm for rogue/master ball tier items. It all snowballs from there

When you beat classic, every mon in your final party gets a ribbon on the starter screen. So it's a way of saying you beat the game with them.

There already are plans to add trainers and new bosses to endless.

As I mentioned, classic was the game mode. This was a fan project, not a big full time game by a gaming company.

He intended to do some more stuff like new bosses and trainers and stuff in endless but as of now eternatus is the placeholder.

Again, I know this game got insanely popular and a ton of traction, but at the end of the day it's just a tiny project made by a fan of the game.

The trainer fights are much harder, and you fight multiple mons, that's why you get money. And it's not very much money.

You should pick up more nuggets if you're struggling that hard.

You also don't have even or caught up levels in classic til after wave 50ish. After you've already fought at least one gym leader and wave 45 rival fight, two major pain points that end runs all the time.

Which again, if you're prioritizing your xp charms and nuggets, you should be in a similar boat in endless by that time. You'll be a bit behind still XP-wise, but not by anything crazy.

And it's still way easier with 1-2 carry mons at this stage vs dealing with full trainer fights.

In endless you get to see the mon, and switch accordingly.

In classic, during fights you don't get the option to switch for free. This is a massive difficulty change. If you have the wrong lead you're taking big damage on a switch or forced to sack. That problem literally doesn't exist in endless.

If you think endless is harder, that's all well and good. It's subjective. Because since they both have a couple major fundamental differences, they can't be directly compared.

But it's just wrong to call one objectively harder than the other. Set mode trainer fights are objectively more difficult to navigate. Working with less income on the xp and $ front is objectively more difficult than not managing it.

But those are two fundamentally different things. And it's impossible to concretely evaluate their relative difficulty in comparison

And that exact same argument applies to classic. The early levels are hard and you can't heal without money.

It literally doesn't change.

And it's not that it's free after 500 it's free much, much earlier than that.

And yeah, just have 1-2 carry mons. It's not that difficult.

I literally do the same thing in classic.

Carry mon + pokerus Mon + pickup mon. Gg. Classic or endless. Rng can screw you on either of them.

The only significant difference is more XP in classic but with trainer battles. And endless is less XP and only single fights.

Trainer fights are MUCH more difficult. Back to back to back fights with no breaks or healing or free switching.

That's a much bigger hurdle than being slightly underleveled.

And for pain points, classic early game is tough through like wave 45(whatever that rival fight is). Then another hard fight at 145 and 150. Then again at elite 4 and last rival. And again at the boss. So you're never safe in classic.

In endless, if you make it past wave 50ish, you should start doing fine on levels and be able to start picking things up and not slowing down for the rest of the game(assuming you have any kind of team). Even if you don't have a team, odds are you'll be able to get one from catches alone(I have, multiple times).

I think endless is fine. Classic is the actual main game mode. Collecting all the ribbons is your meta goal.

Endless is just that, an endless gimmick mode where the whole point is just catching for fun. An "endless" mode IMO should roughly be about like this. The only reason endless got hype over classic period was for catching, particularly on a shiny weekend.

Also, let's not forget this was literally just a guy's pet project he made for fun that's free with 0 monetization. Classic was the goal. And it was exceptionally well-made.

If people want to put forth the Herculean effort that would be a "balanced" "endless" experience, by all means. But don't underestimate exactly how brutally difficult that would be. With SOOOOO many Pokémon and sooooooo many possibilities, they will only be able to scale it so many ways algorithmically. And to do so without some cheese method being the only viable strategy is a nigh impossible ask. Unless you want to make it so easy lots of strategies are viable, in which case there will still be cheese methods that demolish it.

It would be wonderful to see, but realistically it's a pipe dream at best.

I didn't downvote you. But there's no "objective" truth at play here.

If anything, classic would have the most "objective" hurdles.

The trainer battles are SIGNIFICANTLY tougher than the random battles you encounter in endless. You also can't just shop in between fights and full restore your team.

Particularly a wave 145 and the last rival fight.

Then there's the main eternatus fight, which can't be full walled like the boss can in endless. And if you overlevel, it does MORE damage to you.

Your economy should be picking up by around then. You'll be getting to a point where you can spam rerolls and you'll have your 4x shiny charm pretty quick and start finding loads of shinies.

1x to 4x charms is a MASSIVE difference.

Tough double battles floor 3000+.

Also I've a few times now accidentally spammed my run button too quickly. Hurts my soul every time

I mean if you know the basic strats for endless as long as you can survive the first 50 or so waves it's literally free until like 2k+, where it's still pretty free but bad enough rng can end you(double battle with neutralizing gas or something similar and failed run). Aside from that it's literally free until the end.
