I think it's a signal. Spell check tells them that they are wrong, but they are so "right" about everything that they refuse to accept spell checkers. Especially when you need to involve lawyers and the court system just to keep them from being financially exploited and hurting themselves. Not to mention the time and energy involved in straightening out the mess of a life that a dementia patent creates for themselves because we have no functioning health care system that looks for signs when the physician spends less than fifteen minutes with the patient, says they're fine, and goes on with their day. Her Mom lived and passed peacefully in a locked down memory care unit. We're dealing with her father now. Yay.

As someone who was just a grandson to someone with Alzheimers, it was second hand to me since it was my parents having to take care of them, I still got a pretty good idea about how awful it is.
There should be legal protections for people diagnosed with Alzheimers or dementia in general so that they can't simply give money to whichever con artist comes their way. I mean I'm sorry for those diagnosed, but it is really an greater good type of situation, especially for those with dementia.
