Recommendation for the simplest, easiest and straight-forward BLOG theme?

Is there a THEME that allows one to post QUICK and EASY blog posts without so much back and fort mumbojambo nonsense crap?! I tried using Divi, but nope, when I hit New, I must first enter the Divi builder, then add a box, then it adds a picture by default and THEN I can begin writing a text.

Is there a more easier and practical theme where you can just hit new post and simply start writing straight away and add a photo if needed without the need of too many "clicks"?! Divi was supposed to be "easy", but nope, it wants to be and do TOO much...

Seriously? 2024 is the least straightforward theme for simple blogging outside of a ThemeForest reject pile.

Going back to the original “Default” and Kubrick themes in WP 1.5 themes have presented actual blog post front and center right out of the box. 2024 pushes simple blog titles into a row several screens down from a bunch of demo content.

So no, definitely not. 2024 showcases all kinds of things, mostly fake architects and artists. But it’s obvious none of the contributors or developers have ever used Wordpress for blogging.

You're using divi wrong. You use it to create a theme template for the blog for styling. And then (as someone mentioned) you simply post in the classic editor.

WordPress is a CMS. The content you post is independent of the theme and styling. Plenty of free templates out there, too.

Also, sounds like ya might want a custom dashboard for just posting.

It looks like you're looking for the simplest editing experience, i.e. going from zero to published in as few steps as possible. That's not something that's controlled by your theme, unless your theme bundles features that customize the site editing experience. Most themes don't, they only impact the look of your site.

You'll consequently want to stay away from "builder" themes like Divi. Anything else is fair game. I would personally recommend the default themes or Anders Noren's themes if you're looking for something simple and good looking.

Once you have a theme you like, and once you've customized that theme to your liking (newer themes like the ones I mentioned can be customized without any coding experience via the site editor at Appearance > Editor), you can look into plugins that will offer a simpler editing experience. There are a few options, but of course you must keep in mind that by opting for a simpler editing experience you'll also lose a few options to customize each blog post. 2 plugins come to my mind right now:

The "Classic Editor" plugin will simplify the editing experience by removing the option to select different types of content. The plugin doesn't require any setup, it works out of the box.
The "Jetpack" plugin includes a "Post by Email" option, that will allow you to publish new posts on your site by sending emails to a specific email address. Write your email, hit send, done. The email subject becomes the title, everything else gets posted in the content. The plugin does require some setup and configuration, but posting by email may be the simplest editing experience there is.

Another way to get a simpler editing experience is to use a separate editor to write your posts. 2 such editors come to my mind: iA Writer and Ulysses. They both offer minimalist interfaces where you can "just write", and then hit Publish. If you want to do any type of formatting, like adding a link, you'll need to be familiar with the Markdown syntax. Both apps require some setup: you'll need to install them on your computer and / or phone, and you'll need to connect them to your site. They happen to rely on the Jetpack plugin I mentioned above to handle the connection, so you'll need to set up that plugin too.
