Either set your domain's NS to use Wordpress.com (https://wordpress.com/support/domains/change-name-servers/#domains-registered-with-other-companies)

If you want to use your own DNS provider, you need to find your required DNS records in your Wordpress.com account: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-a-domain-alternative-method/#step-2-add-the-dns-records - I don't know what WP.com's DNS records look like, but I'd imagine that there'd be an A record, as well as a CNAME.

SEARCH: //example.org

REPLACE: //example.com

Select all tables

Untick "Dry run"

That's it.

Flush any caches after you're done. This also assumes you have your DNS setup correctly.

What is "Wordpress Premium"?

Don't use Wordpress.com. Get hosting anywhere else (except bluehost, godaddy, hostgator as they have terrible performance and support). Read the pinned post in this sub.

Not sure about WP Studio, but LocalWP has had WP CLI for years.

Assuming you’re now able to log into the WP dashboard, install the Better Search Replace plugin and use it to fix the URLs in your DB.

What .com plan are you on? You need Creator or higher to install plugins.

The name doesn’t change when you run a restore from a different site’s backup set. You can restore your Prod backup into staging without issue.

Ah yes that would definitely make sense for ecommerce. But for regular pages, duplicate posts has no impact on anything.

Have you looked into how WPML handle Woocommerce?

You can try and use the URL Removal Tool in GSC, if there is a pattern to the malware URLs. Otherwise you just need to ensure that the malware URLs return a 404 and they’ll eventually die off.

How else would translation work if you can’t duplicate posts?

They are free with most hosts. Who is your host? I see you mentioned "Wordpress" - do you mean Wordpress.com? If so, here are the steps to setup your SSL cert https://wordpress.com/support/domains/https-ssl/

What I do understand now is that there seem to be two accounts required for launching a site: one with Wordpress and then one with Bluehost when you're registering the domain (correct me if I'm wrong).

Firstly, you were on "Wordpress.com" - not Wordpress. The difference is important (read the pinned post in this sub).

Where you register a domain name isn't important - with DNS you can point your domain at any web hosting service - it's completely independent of web hosting.

Second, creating an account in your Wordpress website is only specific to that Wordpress website. Creating an account at Wordpress.com is separate to creating an account at BlueHost.

  1. Were you successful in registering your domain name? If so, where did that occur?
  2. If you created at account at Wordpress.com, and you want to use their hosting, be aware that unless you opt for the "Creator" plan or higher, you won't have the ability to uploaded plugins or themes - which make it pretty much useless. No other "Wordpress" host has that limitation.
  3. BlueHost is a crappy hosting service. Please do some research into hosting at r/webhosting before choosing a host.

That isn’t standard Woocommerce - I’m assuming it’s coming from a plugin so you should ask the plugin developer.

Wordpress users can have one of several "roles" aka privileges (https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/roles-and-capabilities/). Your current role is not the admin role, hence why you're missing access to so many sections. Ask whoever set up your account to give your account the "admin" role - only an admin can change it.
