The worst part of this for me was when the supervisor came down and the umpire proceeded to speak only French to him in front Rune. Rune had no chance to understand how the umpire was describing the situation to the supervisor. Super rude and unprofessional.

Stillinge Strand is an overlooked gem. Bought a summer house there during the first COVID lockdown and have enjoyed it since then all year round.

It's well connected from Copenhagen and only takes about 1,5 hrs via train + bus, so you could easily bring your bike on the train. We don't own a car and only use public transport to get to and from our summer house.

Prices here are also typically lower than if you look along the northern coast of Zealand.

Is this good programming?

I've been a member of a chain of crossfit gyms in Copenhagen, Denmark for about 3 years. I joined because I was bored with going to the gym alone and I liked the idea of being able to just show up to a class and getting a workout that was always different and varied.

Something happened to their programming after covid though. The workouts got shorter and less varied. Basically seemed like they got lazy and have since then put minimal effort into putting together workouts.

Here are some examples of WODs from this week:

A. Deadlift 5x3 reps

B. 5 RFT (TC: 13 min)

  • 10 DL
  • 20 Push-ups

and

A. Push press 4x4 reps

B. EMOM 20

  • 4 Burpees
  • 5 Wall balls

This is the standard. Usually some kind of lift followed by a short high-intensity workout. I don't feel like I'm getting a good enough workout - it feels too short and simple.

How do you feel about the above examples? Is this good programming worth paying a significant amount of money for?

Darcy's in Nørrebro is the best. It feels like you're having coffee in someone's living room - super cozy and calm. Their coffee is excellent, they have an ever changing variety of beans from various small roasteries from around the world.

They also sell the beans and are very knowledgeable about the origins and roasts. And they have great baked goods as well - buns and pastries in the morning, sandwiches and salads for lunch.

And bonus: dogs are allowed inside of the café!

They recently opened a second location in Vesterbro, which is similar though not quite as cozy.

Someone should really credit the photographer: https://www.welovecph.com/

Just like you don’t have to answer the phone just because it rings. I never pick up a call from a number I don’t know. If it’s important, I’m assuming they will leave a message.

Kaf' & Konsol in Vesterbro is a hidden gem. It's a bar filled with video games consoles from the 80s and up until today and big library of games. You pay 50 kr and can stay as long as you want and play games. They even have a nice selection of craft beers at reasonable prices. Had a blast there recently with friends and ended staying all night.

So good. Amazing bread and pastries too.

This is great advice. I definitely don’t focus enough on the hip extension.

Thanks for this, I can totally see that I don’t extend fully in my hip and legs. Will work on that moving forward.

Looking for critique / feedback to help improve my my technique. Snatch is still a new movement to me, so any tips here would be helpful - thanks!

Yup same here in Denmark. I pay €60 / $70 per month for unlimited classes and open gym. Can’t imagine having to pay double that!

  • The Q was difficult for me to read. It took me several seconds to decipher that it was a letter so that I could even read what the word was. This is an issue - a word needs to be readable, which it is not if people cannot see what the first letter is.
  • I did not see a user icon inside of the Q. I eventually found the question mark, but it seems a bit forced. If you want to go with a clever combination of a letter and a symbol, it needs to be executed so you can immediately see both.
  • The sans serif typeface chosen is a bit generic to me. I understand that this style has been a trend in recent years, but I actually prefer the serif version of the current Quora lettermark. It reminds me of books and knowledge, which I expect is exactly what they want people to associate their website with: the place to go to find knowledge and answers to your questions.

Roast is really nice, they have two coffee shop locations and are generally very knowledgeable about their coffee and the origin.

Otherwise Coffee Collective is always great as well.
