You rolled a NAT 20 on that jerk. Which is why my full table started cheering and howling uncontrollably

Would the Mongols under Genghis Khan beat the Romans? In a single word: yes. In more words: it wouldn't even be a contest.

32+ Dinosaurs with Lore and Stats | The Dinosaur ManualMonsters

A good friend of mine is going to DM Tomb of Annihilation, and I originally started this project to help him with the dinosaurs. I had found the options presented in the MM and Volo's a little lackluster, and as someone who loves both paleontology and homebrewing, I had a lot of fun creating some dynamic, action-oriented versions of the classic dinos, as well as coming up with new ones for dinosaurs I would love to see in D&D. I also included some new magic items, adventure ideas and variants for homebrew campaigns. In the end, I created way more critters and options than what most campaigns could ever include, but it was definitely worth it.

The dinosaurs in this PDF include tiny ones like the four-winged microraptor, the mice-hunting sinosauropteryx, or the leathery-winged, feather-clad yi qi, the small but surprisingly tough armored crocodilian, armadillosuchus, and the huge but (mostly) docile iguanodon. There are some dinosaurs I gave different abilities that support their hunting strategies, according to the latest theories about them - notably the allosauruses and each different raptor species have their own strategies. Lastly, I gave some of these dinosaurs abilities that are essentially magic: the parasaurolophus with its many sounds and the maiasaura with its soothing breath are two examples. Altough it might be too much for some people's taste, I like the idea of more intelligent magical beasts, and they make Beast Shape even more fun and versatile. Some dinosaurs are obviously better to include as peaceful encounters or as companions.

Challenge Ratings go from CR 0 to 22, the highest ones being a couple of legendary versions of other dinosaurs, for example I just had to make a statblock for the stupidly ginormous mosasaurus from Jurrasic World. The dinosaurs that can also be found in the MM and Volo's mostly have the same CR.

Seconded for Cyrus the Great! Had he not existed there would be no Persian empire, but more than that - the entire history of the planet would be different, impacting us even in our current day.

[D&D 5e][Online][GMT] D&D Ixalan: Traitors & Tyrants. Looking for 4 “Forever DMs” to play as players in a medium length adventure! Thursdays, 7PM GMTPlayer(s) wanted

Welcome everyone! I am Chance, 32M and looking to set sail on a new adventure! I'm an experienced D&D 5e DM, and looking for four players to start a game within the setting of Plane Shift: Ixalan (based on MTG setting). Please note: you do not need any prior knowledge of Ixalan to join the game - I will not be adhering stictly to the MTG lore. I am specifically looking for “Forever DMs”. Have you been DMing for most of your D&D life but rarely had a chance to be a player? Then apply now! I am looking for players who wish to develop a fun collective story together, with more of a focus on Roleplay.

Setting The Ixalan setting is an analogue of the Age Of Discovery; with the Ixalan natives being invaded and slowly conquered by zealous vampires who take the form of conquistadors. The continent is home to deadly animals and dinosaurs (wild and domesticated), warriors, pirate groups, treasure hunters and all manner of interesting characters. The land boasts uncharted jungles, dangerous beasts, lost treasures and magnificent ruins.

I have titled the adventure “Ixalan: Traitors & Tyrants” - this adventure will start with characters in a city named Fortress Leor that has been taken and controlled by Vampires from the Legion Of Dusk. The characters begin by joining an underground resistance movement in an attempt to incite a rebellion and overthrow the conquering overlords through intrigue, sabotage, espionage, assassination - really whatever the characters can think of to further the goal of freedom. However, the Vampires have brought a sense of stability, investment in infrastructure, protection, and removed the corruption of the ruling class, allowing their form of justice available to the common citizen. Many have grown comfortable with this arrangement, and do not wish to see their city fall into the chaos of guerrilla warfare in the name of liberation, only to be beaten down by corrupt rich merchants once again.

The game will be roleplay focused (although it's D&D - there's going to be combat!), with an emphasis on how your actions will directly impact the city around you. The setting will mostly be in or around the city, with several dungeons available and opportunity to explore the wilderness - but goals and story will be in a centralized location.

Game Information - The game will run on Thursdays 1900-22/2300 (approx) GMT. - Session 0 will be scheduled for Thursday 11th July. The itinerary for the session will be published before hand. Session 1 will be 18th July. - This adventure will start at level 2 and conclude at level 8. - We will use Discord for voice and Roll20 for maps/combat - Must be fluent in English - Strictly 18 and over - Must have a working microphone - Roleplay focused game - you must be eager and willing to engage with other players characters and NPCs. - Characters should fit the theme of the story. No comedy characters, no monstrous races, no edgelords, no lawful stupid etc. - We are not creating a new game. I am not looking to review random homebrews for characters - reflavour it instead!

Please see the Application Form if you wish to apply. Successful applicants only will be contacted on Reddit or Discord for further discussion.

Applied! Great form, looking forward to hearing back!

Cyrus The Great. If he didn't exist the entire world would be different, impacting many things including you right now. Without Cyrus, the major religions would not have spread like they have, which have underpinned culture and subsequently behaviours across the planet. An argument could be made if there would ever be Christianity or Islam without Cyrus existing.

When I was a boy I was spanked by Carter on two non-consecutive occasions!

Takes me back to an episode of the X-Files where Mulder basically had this experience as a child.

"Hey Scully, did you ever notice how a praying mantis' head resembles an alien?"

You may want to have a look at Myth-Weavers which is a dedicated PbP forum - I'm sure there will be lots of suggestions there.

Hey hey! I'm an experienced DM and potentially looking to get back into the swing of things. Are you folks already a group that are friends or have played together before?

I'd love to join, very much looking for a long term game! The preview is an interesting scenario, and is like to learn a little more about it too. Sending a PM over with my discord!
