This looks awesome! Thank you for publishing this!
Note: Page 7 is messed up in Firefox, but works just fine in Chrome.
Thanks! I'll see about fixing that.
Several bestiary entries are blank such as Gnome, Malamet, all Dinosaurs?
EDIT: in fact the entire bestiary aside from the first 3 entries is blank.
Yes, sorry, the Bestiary is still WIP! It says that on the first bestiary page, I'll update that so the entries all communicate the same thing. I expect I'll need another week or so to finish the bestiary, but I didn't want to delay the release any longer.
My apologies, I feel like a bit of a stupid now.
Not at all! It'll be updated to say "coming soon" or something like that to avoid confusion.
So an important note is that almost all healing magic will be ineffectual for Echoes, since their creature type is Undead. Thatβs a huge penalty, is incorporeal movement really worth it?
That is definitely a consideration, all my guides races are balanced using an updated Racial Score Calculator. I also try to make my content as close to official content as possible, so while it's not as flashy as some other homebrews, its balanced, flavorful, and can be tweaked for each table.
Is it worth it? YMMV
Any update on the PDF?
It will be here this weekend! It should be done friday night, check back on Saturday!
Hey friend, just wanted to let you know the PDF is uploaded!
The current years of Ixalan are marked by their distance from the Legion's arrival on the continent of Ixalan, with years beforehand labeled Before Dawn (BD) and years after labeled Dawn Era (DE). The Sun Empire records three seasons on the continent of Ixalan: rainy season, cool season, and hot season.
Huh, that's odd
Yes it is. But it's the only dating system info we have for the plane. π
Hello, r/magicTCG! I present A Planeshifted Guide to the Lost Caverns of Ixalan for D&D 5e!
Ixalan is a plane inspired by mesoamerican cultures, and includes feathered dinosaurs, pirates, vampire conquistadors, and so much more! The Lost Caverns present a Journey to the Center of the Earth theme for this diverse plane of wonder. Explore the seas, the lost caverns, and beyond with this guide for D&D 5e, which includes information on life in Ixalan, geography, details about Ixalan's factions and mechanics to utilize them, 15 new races, 10 custom backgrounds, 10 new spells, 24 items and magic items, a feat, and rules for seafaring vessels and sea combat!
Link in progress, check back soon!
Is this just Plane Shift: Ixalan?
While this guide draws heavy inspiration from Plane Shift: Ixalan, it is intended to replace it with modern design philosophy, more content, and additional context that has been presented in the newst Lost Caverns set and storyline.
Why does it say "has the prone condition" instead of "knocked prone"?
My planeshifted guides use the latest design philosophy from WotC. The newly released Monstrous Compendium Vol. 4: Eldraine Creatures uses this kind of terminology for conditions. Older guides will be retroactively updated with this design, until such a time as Wotc reveals that this is not the standard.
Playtest / Balance?
The content in this guide is meticulously crafted to be as close to official material as possible in both balance and presentation.
What's "Planeshifted"?
Planeshifted Guides is a project that brings the worlds of Magic: the Gathering to D&D 5e, inspired by the semi-official and discontinued Plane Shift series.
Can I support the project?
This is 100% free fan content under the Fan Content Policy. That said, if you'd like to help more Planeshifted Guides come to life, you can check out the Planeshifted Patreon to get content before it releases and vote on the next setting. Alternatively, you can buy me a coffee.
