Reason is haram anyway. If someone uses kufri things like factual information, he has apotasted, and thus his blood is halal and you can kill him, and you can also enslave his wife and children and they can become your property.
Whether or not you're allowed to use the reddit account of this person, the great scholars by ijma have said this is makruh. The ijma was between 6 scholars, but they are they only real muslims alive today, everyone else is kuffar, so their ijma matters.

To all users here, if it's not specified as haram in Qur'an, then it's halal or at least neutral. The main point is to not be excessive, eating beef is halal, but it's not good if you eat it excessively, hearing/playing music is halal, but it's not good if it becomes the only thing that you care in your life. Use your brain, learn science and read Qur'an, insyaallah you will become a better muslim.

Am I the only one who never understood “imitating disbelievers” as a reason for something being haram? A lot of people say celebrating birthdays are haram for that very reason. I’m sorry how is celebrating the fact that I’ve been alive for 15 or 35 years imitating the disbelievers. It’s not like the practice of birthdays has anything inherently wrong with it, it’s just the fact that we didn’t do it and then other people did it so suddenly we’re not allowed to do it? It’s like saying we can’t use phones, cause we didn’t invent phones the disbelievers did and hence by using phones we’re imitating them.

Brief Google search (may Allah forgive me the sin of using that pagan service) says it's from Abu Dawood, hadith #4031. It is rated sahih, so as you know this places it above even the Quran itself alhamdulillah.

The funny thing about the "don't imitate the disbelievers" line that Salafis frequently misunderstood is that literally EVERYTHING in Islam originated from a non-Muslim source and the Quran & Hadiths themselves acknowledge this.
Islamic Theology?, That comes from older Abrahamic religions. Praying 5 times a day?, that comes from Zoroastrianism. Hijab?, that comes from Ancient Syrian ascetics and was widely used by both Mesopotamian Pagans & Early Christians. The Kaaba? That was a holy site for Arab Polytheists and earlier followers of Abraham. Etc, the examples are endless.
There's no such thing as absolute originality in religion, and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) himself said that he is only reaffirming the examples & teachings of earlier prophets. As a matter of fact, none of the other great founders of religions like Jesus, The Buddha, Zoroaster, etc, ever claimed to be doing anything new or original either.
The actual point of the "don't imitate the disbelievers" line was that you shouldn't adopt a practice or custom JUST because people of other faiths do it too.

What it means to imitate disbelievers is to copy their doings in things which are specific to them.
The printing press was specifically designed to distribute the bible and as such is specific to Christians. Does that mean we shouldn't use printing presses? Your logic doesn't make sense. As long as we completely don't believe in the beliefs of the other religions then imitating their acts don't seem to be problematic in and of itself.

But if we have cars that are similar to theirs and fabric that is similar to theirs, there is nothing wrong with that.” (Majmu’ Fatawa al-Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymin, 12, question 177)

“The definition of imitating is when the imitator does something that is unique to those whom he is imitating. Imitation of the disbelievers refers to when a Muslim does something that is one of their unique characteristics. With regard to that which has become widespread among the Muslims and is no longer something by which the disbelievers are distinguished, then this is not imitation of the disbelievers, and it is not haram because it is an imitation, unless it is haram for some other reason. What we have said is what is indicated by the meaning of the word tashabbuh (imitation).” (Majmu’ Fatawa al-Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymin, 12, question 198)

Printing press was specifically made to distribute bible and as no other religion at the time had it at the time the printing press then becomes an unique characteristic of Christians. And thus Muslims mustnt use the printing press as it is unique to the Christians. This goes for many other inventions as well. And also it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Why is imitating them even wrong in the first place? If one imitates the clothing or other unique aspects without following the beliefs of the disbelievers the why is imitating in and of itself a sin?
Eating on a table is a traditional European customs specific to the Mushrikeen Europeans and we decided that it’s okay and not Haram to copy them and so then we introduced into our culture tables which we used to eat on the floor like the Prophet PBUH did so we are all copying the mushrikeen in this day and age, forgetting our own customs and Islamic teachings of the prophet

This is not bs this is a legitimate arguement my parents used to stop me and my sister from eating cakes in birthdays because it is considered a christian tradition. It is the same practice the Pakistanis used on bengali people to completely wipe the bangla language we are speaking in for years just because bengali Hindus spoke bangla before bengali Muslims spoke the language . It is the same practice that many elderly use to stop us from doing cultural holidays and ceremonies like the Bengali new year etc. So, no it is not bullshit this is real stuff that is used to wipe out our native cultures and enforce Arabic culture upon a community. Arabic culture doesn't suit us as we don't have the same kind of mentality and geography. This is ultimately a cruel act imposed by the fundamentalists on a non Arabic Muslims as a whole to wipe out their culture(even though they themselves speak the same language and eat the same cultural food)
