You know how when you stop to let someone cross in a parking lot or street they usually give “the wave” and then quickly move across?

Well I went to North Carolina to an area in the mountains, and I was SHOOK by the difference. People would see that you were waiting to pull out of a parking space, or you’d stop to let them cross, and they wouldn’t even acknowledge you. They’d literally idle right in the middle of the way, and move at an actual snails pace when they were good and ready. I thought it was so rude, but my sister who’s been living there for a few years now said that’s just how people are in that area. I guess I thought everywhere was like it is here, and I was wrong! 🤪 I appreciate how polite and efficient we usually tend to be haha.
