I was thinking about just running both of them.
I like to play them with eels and sharks.
Very very mobile army. We have the ability to do quite a large amount of damage but in turn can get blown up quite easily. Flex your movement, control choke points and choose your engagements wisely.
Akhelian King is an absolute murderer when positioned properly during high tide. I once made a big charge to go straight into the middle of my opponents army. He gets 2 extra swings for each enemy within 3 inches of him when he's affected by high tide. Couple this with rend 3 and dmg 3 when he charges. I had like 13 swings 2s and 2s 3 rend 3 dmg. And that's just his pole arm...
Of course those are 3rd edition rules. We haven't seen his warscroll yet but I imagine he will keep that flavour of being an absolute hammer.
We have respectable shooting and Turtle is a must for almost any list.
The tides of death are a super fun gimmick to play around l. Truly a great army with some of the best models out there.
My wife and I were in Florida a couple years back. Staying at a hotel and we were on our way to get some supper. We get in the elevator and a couple is kind of fast walking towards us as the doors are closing. Obviously I hold it open for them.
They thank us and immediately go "you guys must be from the Midwest, Minnesota or something" and my wife and I have never felt so good. People know!
Would suggest doing the cloth your colour. The armour could end up looking a little funny. And because of the flowy-ness of the robes it really end up being more noticable than the armour.
I think sharks will still be very good. Can't wait to see morrsarr guard warscroll.

A super deep blue into a purple for the shell would be sweet with like a very bright almost lightning like blue for the lines between shells.
My friends always get all hyped for a new x pack or patch. Then they switch mains every week for about a month. Me being the tank I help them gear up all those toons then in a months time it's just me running high keys cause they all got bored. I hate it

Sharks look great. Steed of tides being unlimited excites me AND not being limited to a hero.
The rules of flood/ebb changing to shoot and charge is getting me excited. Ishalaen Guard seem infinitely better than before. Great for pinning foes down.
The anti charge on the harpoons will go a long ways against my usual opponents.
I'll probably be looking to play sharks, that will depend on the morrsarr warscroll.
Overall I'm just excited we kept the majority of our rules. Some stuff gets moved around and yes not getting a ritual is going to suck when you don't roll a 3 but I don't think not getting it is gonna realistically cost you a game.
Too add on, I only got into the hobby last year and picked Deepkin for the models and lore. I'd play them no matter how trash they were.
