But Ken Griffin? Wall streets darling who can do “no wrong” and is worth 38 billion… it’s just perplexing.

But Ken Griffin is a first generation billionaire. The DeVos family has been stuffing money into lobbyists’ pockets for decades and decades. People may not like Ken Griffin, or Ray Dalio, or Bill Ackman, but those men are really only interested in keeping the SEC from getting involved in their private businesses. That only certain investors can buy into. They have significantly less - a tiny amount, in comparison - reach and audience in the American population than the DeVos family does. How many American families that aren’t considered “high net worth” do you think Amway has chewed up and spit out? But the money it has spent on lobbying and “influence” in DC has all of them caught in its web one way or another.
Better question: how can a woman with literally NO professional experience or qualifications in the field - let alone someone who sent her own kids to private schools and I believe (but don’t quote me) went to private schools herself - ever be legitimately considered for - let alone NAMED! - the head of the Department of Education?

Amway may be synonymous with pyramid schemes but its billions line the pockets of many politicians and political organizations. Money and influence attract money and influence.

The people around her are also in the wealth game, so your hang-up on moral, fairness, or equality isn't a factor that crosses their minds.
