I moved to Michigan 3 years ago but before then I was married in Virginia. My ex and I separated in 2018 and have lived separately since then. We have been trying to officially divorce since then but don't know how to go about it. What state would I file in? Do I have to go back to Virginia?

Its an NPC they met last session (2 weeks ago) and he had a somewhat important role but later on down the line he has a more important one being part of a plot to kill the king of where they are. However, I completely forgot this guy's name. What would be a cool way to mess up his name and give him a new one or should I just work a different NPC in his place instead
