Vinnie’s has a parking lot in the back ya know.
Vinnie’s has a parking lot in the back ya know.
One gray brain cell.
Smooth brain. No lumps or bumps
The drunk catchers doing their job.
...Hey, you can't park there.
LOLOL that's what these should be
GR finally has a monorail
Monorail monorail monorail!!!
“The names Landly , Lyle Landly and I come before you good people tonight with a idea, probably the greatest idea ”
There's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fide, electrified, mini-van monorail.
If you can dodge the road you can dodge a ball.
I believe that is a Dodge. Well played.
Too bad there wasn’t a ball in that island
"Why do people ride on the sidewalks when there is a perfectly good bike lane!?"
you joke but I saw some idiot who drove down the bike lane today on Front street to leonard and tried to take a right while also completely blocking both of the bike lanes and prevented a biker from using it. The biker had to lift her bike up over the median to get around this dumbass.
Had two fools bypassing traffic using the bike lane on Market last night.
Arrest that mf
We recently saw someone parked on the new-ish protected bike lane along Turner Ave, between curbs, north of the intersection at Turner and 6th St.
Worse, I saw someone driving down the bike path along Monroe by Riverside Park the other day. I think they got confused by the round about.
Ope I meant Vinny’s.
I’ve heard it both ways
I don't see a "no parking" sign so I think they're in the clear.
They took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
I don't know why but this cracked me up lol 😂
I've never understood the point of that lowered area.
My understanding is that they’re a storm water remediation catches to keep rain polluted from the road and chemicals out of the water system until the plants and soil in them can help with decontamination.
Which to be clear, is useful because storm drains genuinely go straight to the goddamn river... Without any sort of treatment.
You ever wonder where the rubber on your car tires actually go when they wear down? Straight into the river.
How has this not been addressed yet...
This is supposedly the cause of about half of the microplastics in water, and it's only getting worse as vehicles get heavier
I 100% agree that this is a good thing. I’m not one of the Creston residents who complains about them and yes, I do think about stuff like where the rubber goes that meets road (as well as all the chemicals used on the turf at Kent Country Club, etc.).
Main reason why storm water goes straight to the rivers and lakes is because that’s a lot of water to treat. We’re talking millions of gallons for a small storm. Most wastewater plants can only handle a few million gallons before they start overflowing their tanks and dumping untreated sewage into the rivers and lakes.
Ah. Yeah. I can understand that.
It catches rainwater and has native plants growing. More eco-friendly and allows plants to soak up extra rain water.
Yeah, I have noticed the abundance of flowers there.
I've thrown a few seed bombs there of bee-balm. Never saw them grow.
Here’s what it looked like when it was built 12 years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLYX6tp_6zg
Oh wow... Those are definitely great.
Would be nice if they looked that good again.
Why doesn’t it look like that now?
If only they had been properly maintained… looks great from the beginning, but lacking now.
For our entertainment.
Makes sense.
That car is ruining a good patch of perfectly good dandelions and sunflowers that grow there!
just one more lane
It was before they installed those
Haha, I saw this yesterday and wanted to get a photo but I was driving. Glad someone did!
Quite impressive to get all 4 wheels stuck in there like that.
Same
Either one of two narratives here that i can see, and they have very different emotions.
A) they were distracted driving or some such and dug themselves into the ditch we see here and completely deserved it, or
B) someone drove recklessly enough to shove them out of their lane with their greedy merge and going into the ditch was the only choice aside from just taking the hit, so they had to pick from two bad cases
Im leaning toward A here since the speed limit there is low enough that you could just brake, and also because i dont think anyone is going to be that pushy on the road for that stretch of road
It was a clueless old black guy and his wife. I walked right by them. It had been several minutes, the tow truck was there and the guy still looked bewildered and kept shrugging his shoulders like he didn't know what was going on.
Funny, I was looking at that car, thinking it looked a lot like my old neighbors van. He would routinely park several feet on the curb/sidewalk outside their home that is literally a block from this location. Then you said clueless old Blackman and his wife. I am now nearly convinced I know who this is lol.
You can be distracted by so many things driving 😂 doesn’t mean they deserved it. That thing should be filled with cement anyway, they never plant anything there
It originally had trees. I'm assuming the roots started damaging the pavement as they grew. Cause who knew...
They plant native plants in there now.
Dodge is a native plant, right?
Kind of, yes!
They actually plant all kinds of things there.
Yes they plant all sorts of things then fail to maintain it and it gets filled with trash and invasive species. Everything sounds like a brilliant idea but nobody ever thinks about maintaining "brilliant ideas".
Okay but literally how???
I hope it wasn't a medical emergency, because... How?
Not a medical emergency literally within 30 minutes of it happening I dropped my daughter off down the road and the vehicle occupants were chilling
Figuratively how also?
Look how comfortable it looks
The amount of people…..who struggle with the boulevards……are concerning.
The pedestrian island at Plainfield and Aberdeen has had its crossing sign get run over about once a month.
Anything is possible
Uhhh, you can’t park there. 😂
It doesn't say you can't, and there's no hydrant... seems valid
Fair enough, I guess. I stand corrected. 😅
Trying hard to get those Frosty Boy fries!
Hey you can't park there
You can’t park there!
Hey Buddy, that’s not a parking spot!
Drunk catchers
This is nothing Vinny’s back stairs leaves mf’s in worse shape but that shits in private
Only thing that bothers me about this is that I didn't take this route home to see it firsthand.
Finally lol
How????? (I might be referring to the driver, I might be referring to the design of the median.... or both)
The median is lava.
Can't park there mate
I shouldn't have had to scroll this far to find this comment .
I was standing outside of Vinny’s in 2017 and witnessed a dude run the red going this direction and hit the light pole. Claimed he had a concusssion; he was blackout drunk. Seems to be a great spot for a bar and an ice cream shop.
Operation Ghost Rider
I walked by that dipshit right after he went in. He looked clueless.
Jesus I thought that was my grandma for a second
This is my emotional state every Monday.
The REALLY slow lane
I came home with a pic of this car the other day as I’d passed it on my drive, and I said to my husband, “DROP WHAT YOURE DOING, I HAVE BIG NEWS” and then showed him.
🤣🤣🤣
“This isn’t where I parked my car…ugh…”
lol
This happens way too often.
Just needed a lil' nap
My fear realized.
"I've been waiting to see this happen!" - my husband
Hey you can’t park there
“Sir, you can’t park there”
Mate you can’t park there
“Sir you can’t park your car there”
I have always wondered what would happen in this scenario
I've always thought, man, if you happen to drive into those specific medians, that would suck.
Wow! Man!
and here I thought the anxiety that I feel when driving that stretch was irrational
You can’t park there mate!
Hahaha
Wow
Was pretty funny driving by after work Tuesday, wonder how many “you can’t park there” shouts he got
I was waiting for this to happen…
Typical Dodge Journey
Ruh-row.
How does shit like this even happen? ☠️
Rumor has it they’re still driving like that to this day.
They couldn’t ram it so they dodged it 😁🥴😂
That's a town and country dawg
Parkour.
Ope!
How?
With the way people drive here, I have a feeling that maybe there’s some sort of way to get into this weird ass median further down the road that we can’t see and this driver thought he would just bypass everyone else and it backfired. I could be wrong but it wouldn’t surprise me. It’s like the guy who decided he would go around me by taking the shoulder on the freeway only to end up one person in front of me at the light on the 28th street exit. 🤡
That was my original thought too, but there’s road signs in both ends of that trench just out of view of this picture so this person wedged themselves in there on purpose one way or another. I was at frosty boy when the wrecker got there and the look on the operators face was hysterical
Man I was really hoping it was impatience karma playing out in real time lol.
I imagine that wouldn’t be the easiest tow job that operators ever had 🫠
Imagine taking a picture of someone having a really bad day and posting it on the Internet.
Go on….
And that picture gets a lot of attention...
Best comment. Cheers!
It’s a moment of supreme idiocy. It deserves internet ridicule.
You have no idea what happened. You just want to make fun of people.
Yeah I do. It’s called negligence, and it deserves to be made fun of. If you can’t safely pilot a 2000+ lb vehicle then you shouldn’t do it at all.
Yup. Because internet.
How do you know how it happened? Maybe they served to avoid a dog in the road? Don't assume that your neighbor is an idiot.
Oh yes, how could I forget about the dozens of dogs that run through there daily? It was probably definitely that.
I really cant imagine taking time out of my day to do something like this. I hope OP asked if they needed help.
If it fits, it sits.
