Great to see people pushing the lightweight limits! I just did the Skye trail with a 7kg base weight and I thought I was smashing it! Next time you're up Coniston way come to my ultralight camping friendly cafe in Torver, it's called Undercrag.

So you're advocating for less nature!? I think that's abhorrent.

You're born of an animal on this planet, breathing the air created by plants, eating plants to sustain yourself. We need nature more than anything. I hope you see the light one day, the beauty of natural things.

I'm willing to lose a few livestock to restore biodiversity, what a crime! We have MILLIONS of sheep in the lake District alone, in a world of increasing vegans and decreased profits for farming numbers of livestock will hopefully drop and we have more room for wild nature. Thus increased biodiversity and an increase in overall animal welfare for all animals.

A few would be shot yes, just like in Europe farmers are paid if they can prove they lost livestock to a predator but the predator isn't always shot! Wild, natural predators encourage better fencing and, in turn, better flora regeneration for the wider landscape

Sheep farming at an alarming rate! Reintroduce lynx and wolves, bring back the beaver! Make it harder for farmers to earn a profit doing this shit while simultaneously making nature wild and resilient once more!

They ripped off his backpatch cause he couldn't name 5 songs

Cheapest on there now is €80 and €20 shipping but I'll keep half an eye out for it thanks!

Nothing is inherently wrong with the A590. But I personally couldn't live so close to a 60mph road. The noise, litter, brake dust, pollution and car accidents really put me off being anywhere near a 'big road'

I'd resent that big road that goes by if I lived there but I did see an osprey along the river there once so it's clearly a lovely spot.

Solace is in the top 3 most wanted post rock represses along with Maar- The Evaptoria Report and Daturah- Reverie (also graveface I believe) so clearly noone at the label likes money....

Take off the sheep! Plant trees. It's simple, we can always put the sheep back but it's much harder to put trees back...

My only qualm with this is the ethics of the down. If you're okay with that you've got a hell of a cheap set up. Let's hope you get into sleeping outdoors eh

Love that big fatty fat jersey barrier where'd you get that?

Yeah really cool hybridisation happens in whitebeam and rowan on Arran but I think all the cool trees are in very remote, steep gullys where the deer can't access. There are some planted near the port in brodick though.

Did you see any black/ red squirrel or the Arran specific trees?

Maybe something to do with the fact you're buying peppers in April...

Move. As soon as you can move out of that country, go for it. The world is slow to change but there are much nicer places put yourself in the world than America.

I would say a fire pit is mostly useless if it's not a very heavy cast iron ring or pit. They never last as fire is very destructive. They're great at campsites if you can buy wood but other than that I keep it in the garden.

Just go below the tide line and make a fire. You're buying something to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Wild camping in the UK and fires do not go well together.

Screw something flat to the base...

They are bred for shooting just like pheasant and grouse. Numbers in the lake District have skyrocketed in the last 5 or so years since farmers decided breeding birds to be shot is more lucrative than sheep farming. Should be illegal.
