I love walking, but it’s getting to the point where looking at these little darlings in a field offends and upsets too much, especially when marked like this. Hate the lambing season.
Hadn’t really thought about the cyclical cruelty. Even more tragic
"I get really upset when dogs kill my sheep" ... kills adorable baby lamb at barely half a year old after running a lambing day where kids get to meet them right before they get eaten at the pub. The cognitive dissonance is jarring.
Two minds co existing … typical trait of a serial killer
I am a free lamb!
Im so glad someone had already written this lol
I'm so curious what that's from
The Prisoner … “I am not a number; I am a free man. I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed, or numbered.”
I sometimes hate being vegan because this time of year used to be really happy, seeing the spring lambs, but knowing (or maybe just fully comprehending) their fate is just so depressing.
😭😭 it makes me so sad 😭
I was coming home yesterday afternoon from a nice day out, and there was a huge three-storey(!) lorry trailer full of sheep in the lane next to me. It was fucking heart breaking seeing the scared eyes of those doomed animals. Knowing that they're all dead now makes me angry and depressed.
And these are the "nice farms". I don't even like to think about the majority of lambs born into factory farms. Its heartbreaking. I want to rescue them all poor babies.
I live rurally and it's so painful going past the animals in fields. Lambs get to me the most - I know other animals are slaughtered young too, but when you see them hopping around and being so innocent and playful, it just kills me.
What I hate the most is when people take their kids to pet lambs at farms, then go for a lamb roast afterwards.
I hate it but living in a rural area I have to switch off otherwise I'd go crazy.
Sheep farming at an alarming rate! Reintroduce lynx and wolves, bring back the beaver! Make it harder for farmers to earn a profit doing this shit while simultaneously making nature wild and resilient once more!
Unfortunately that will just result in a whole load of shot wolves, lynxes, and beavers. Animal agriculture is an endless cycle of death and destruction.
A few would be shot yes, just like in Europe farmers are paid if they can prove they lost livestock to a predator but the predator isn't always shot! Wild, natural predators encourage better fencing and, in turn, better flora regeneration for the wider landscape
wtf is wrong with you, you want sheep to be torn apart because... farming is wrong?
I'm willing to lose a few livestock to restore biodiversity, what a crime! We have MILLIONS of sheep in the lake District alone, in a world of increasing vegans and decreased profits for farming numbers of livestock will hopefully drop and we have more room for wild nature. Thus increased biodiversity and an increase in overall animal welfare for all animals.
You're just a sick nature worshipper, nature is nothing but animal torture and suffering, less nature = less suffering
So you're advocating for less nature!? I think that's abhorrent.
You're born of an animal on this planet, breathing the air created by plants, eating plants to sustain yourself. We need nature more than anything. I hope you see the light one day, the beauty of natural things.
you make me want to gag you freak
He's #28
Its depressing to say the least. Most are killed between 3 and 8 months of age. Literally babies.
I used to live in Wales and on my daily walks would see the mothers with their lamb(s) go into a protective stance whenever anyone walked past. Then I was oblivious to the fact they'd soon be seperated, the lamb(s) would likely be killed, and the distressed mother would be put through the cycle again and again.
