Sounds like a hustle. A 2 handicap averages 1.9 birdies a round. A 15 is just under a birdie per 36 holes. Highly doubt this guy was being honest. Every has their day but damn… lol

Yes lessons are great. I have taken a few and we’ve hammered in some fundamentals. The problem I’ve seen is that a lot of lessons are just cookie cutter tips. You will eventually reach a point where you need a more personalized approach to learning.

Yes, unfortunately it is normal for a lot of weekend golfers. Most people play a round that contains at least a couple "well if x y z ... I'll just hit another one that doesn't count" 's. Made up scenarios and excuses as to why they actually made a 5 there and not a 7.

I have a buddy that does this everytime we play. In my head I usually just take his score and add anywhere from 3-7 strokes to get his real score. But not that I care that much. If it ever got to a point where we played for money or actual friendly competition, we can play that game. I will keep every stroke recorded and we can see exactly how far apart we are lol.

350 is pretty good. That’s a lot more comfortable than going all in for $1200 on brand new irons. Used irons with the specs I got fitted into seems like I could see just as much improvement than going new simply due to the improvements I’ve made.

The dispersion was a lot better on the srixon's than my gamers. That might have been due to the added stability of the steel shaft compared to my 65g graphite shaft though. I didn't have the best fitter. But it doesnt somewhat feel like the performance wasn't so much better I can't just compensate with my current set.

Talk me into or out of buying new (or used) irons. Or roast me, I don't care.Equipment Discussion

Last week I got fitted for irons. I know what specs I "need" now. I haven't been able to pull the trigger on irons though.

I've gotten a lot better over the last year (16hc to 10) using these ole faithful Taylormade Burner 2.0 in graphite regular flex. Sure they're super light and I tend to pull the ball left on occasional or more often than I'd like. But I can still make due with them right? I mean, Bryson shot par for 6 holes using childrens clubs.

I tried out a ton of new more stable forged irons like the Mizuno jpx 923 forged and Srixon zx5's and I'm suckered. I think I've been marketed to.

Please either talk me out of buying new irons because most of you are using 20 year old clubs or honestly justify the need to switch to a more stable shaft + distance iron so I stop pulling the ball and getting flyers...

Generally speaking it would mean to simply try to say yes to most things. Get out there and live life. Social situations and all.

I’ve been practicing and playing so much I have started to hit the center so much more often that my irons are flying greens like they’re on rockets. Always had my distances dialed in but my 7 iron randomly gained 15yds this year and I’ve thought shit… maybe these burner 2.0s need replaced with a players distance iron.

And with my luck I would buy said irons and instantly start to top, toe, and heel the ball like nobody’s business lol.

Thank you for this. I am in a similar boat. My striking has greatly improved and I think I’m ready to move away from GI for this reason. Currently using burner 2.0s and have had a LOT of shots fly the green when I wasn’t expecting it.

That doesn’t apply here… you can work for yourself. You can paint fucking rocks for a living for all I care. If it enables you to sustain your life then it’s worth doing. But you can’t just do nothing because “I don’t want to!”.

They were basically just telling OP to suck it up because you can’t sit around and do nothing and expect the world to just provide food, shelter, etc to you. Sometimes we have to do things we don’t want to do.

Because this post just screams spoiled and entitled. I’m sorry but you have to work to survive. You can’t just do nothing and expect food, shelter, and life’s basic necessities to just be provided for you by other people. Somewhere along the way before you got your meal, someone did something to contribute to conjuring this into existence.

So the answer is do nothing because “I don’t wanna!”. Well I’m sorry kid but sometimes we do things we don’t want to do because of the bigger picture.

There are things to do other than work that make the work worth doing… Being an adult that has responsibilities is worth doing because it enables you to do the things you enjoy. Join us. Contribute to humanity.

It will make more of a difference the better you are at the game unless you are currently using something so far from what you should be using that it’s like getting clubs that work for the first time.

Definitely feels worth it. I’ll see what used clubs look like and if it’s worth it to save a couple hundred bucks or just go pure custom for about 900

Just had my first ever iron fittingEquipment Discussion

Had my first iron fitting today. I hit the p790s, Calloway ai smokes, titleist t200s, Wilson dynapower forged, Mizuno jpx 923’s. My current gamers are 2011-12 Taylormade burner 2.0 with super fast graphite shafts.

Honestly, all these clubs were super nice. The “crack” they made when striking it pure was so satisfying. Nothing like my current weapons. I hit the Calloways the best. 7 iron is really not a 7 iron though with how strong the lift is. And they’re the only casted irons of the bunch that I hit and they still felt good.

Biggest issue though is I don’t know if I can justify the price of new irons. I mean yes I hit them well, they feel great, are super satisfying, etc. But wouldn’t 2-4 year old clubs have the same effect at a fraction of the price? The fitting got me my specs. Now I go get used clubs.

How do you guys feel about these models? Any experience with them or know of equivalent older models?

Used to play the e6’s. And then I got a Costco membership.

White hat, white shoes, and a good neutral color in the middle is the perfect style for golf. I mean, we get to wear uniforms and what sport doesn’t have some element of trying to look cool! It’s little league baseball when you finally got fitted hats and your name on the jersey..

Hey I’m not saying I drive around listening to Morgan Wallen, I’m more of a metalhead myself. But the prototypical golf bro is a huge Morgan Allen fan.. and she think I’m like them now lmao

Ah man. Now I really don't want to have kids..

Dude edit the show better
