For context I’m a newer teenage golfer who is interested in upgrading to new irons. When I went to golf galaxy today I was looking at the titleist t300 irons since I saw they were on sale and are supposed to have a lot of forgiveness and help distance. When I told the employee that I was looking to get myself some irons that would last for the next 5 or so years he suggested that I stay away from game improvement irons since I’m so young and haven’t been playing for a long time and still have lots of time to improve. Do you think this is good advice or do you think a game improvement iron would be good for me and he was just trying to upsell?

Sorry if this doesn’t make a lot of sense.
