Had my first iron fitting today. I hit the p790s, Calloway ai smokes, titleist t200s, Wilson dynapower forged, Mizuno jpx 923’s. My current gamers are 2011-12 Taylormade burner 2.0 with super fast graphite shafts.
Honestly, all these clubs were super nice. The “crack” they made when striking it pure was so satisfying. Nothing like my current weapons. I hit the Calloways the best. 7 iron is really not a 7 iron though with how strong the lift is. And they’re the only casted irons of the bunch that I hit and they still felt good.
Biggest issue though is I don’t know if I can justify the price of new irons. I mean yes I hit them well, they feel great, are super satisfying, etc. But wouldn’t 2-4 year old clubs have the same effect at a fraction of the price? The fitting got me my specs. Now I go get used clubs.
How do you guys feel about these models? Any experience with them or know of equivalent older models?
