It can definitely make it slower if you sacrifice timings for capacity. Like especially above, getting the timings for 8 sticks is either insanely expensive, or more than likely you just will have more latency and slower RAM than if you had just 2 sticks.

I definitely found they improved the pacing a little compared to the original, and the use of jumpscares was more judicious. But if you played the original and remember it well, it's definitely going to cut down on the tension you feel since there's a lot that you'll recognize
