If there's 2 things I could remove from the BBQ lexicon it would be 3-2-1 ribs and beer can chicken.

I'm feeling vindicated. I've been yelling around here for years about wrapping ribs and 3-2-1 being terrible techniques. I always say you can tell a bullshit BBQ recipe when times are involved, let alone 3 times.

I tried 3-2-1 years ago to see how it turned out, and it was awful, basically turned them into pulled pork that had the texture of being cooked in a crock pot. Only way I could see them holding together is if people leave the membrane on.

Ribs barely take 6 hours with zero wrap, how this method got popular is beyond me. It makes trash ribs.

A Yagi of some kind I can just point north? I'm looking to put it in my attic, so ugly doesn't matter to me.

I don't discriminate, I look at pizza the same way I look at music. Sometimes I'm in the mood for NY style, sometimes Chicago deep dish, other times I like a nice wood fired Neapolitan.

Arguing which style is better is like arguing what the best Pink Floyd album is. Entirely depends on the setting and mood.

Can't beat a deep dish on a chilly fall day, while during the summer a nice crispy thin crust hits right. If I'm pounding beers, pub style is hard to beat.

Well, you can start by recognizing that this election is for a federal government seat, not the state. Her decisions may have an impact on our state, but you should be looking at this seat as one to make the country better.

Look at your districts state House and Senate seat elections to make the state better. I'd argue those are way more important than federal elections anyways.

I've commented about this in other spirit subreddits, the term "juice" is absolutely stupid but there is a reason for it.

When specialty and craft spirits first started hitting big back around 2010, it was being sold by wine reps who were used to making their nut on selling wine, and they sold it the same way.

"Juice" is a term that is used for either contract wine or vineyards that sold off excess grapes to other wineries. As in "You should try this Hess Select pinot noir, it's made with Macphail juice" -or- "it's cool that Maynard opened an AZ winery, but you should know he's using a ton of CA juice in his first releases".

Due to sharp increase of contract bottlings for whiskies at that time, you'd hear reps carry the term over from the wine world, as in "Templeton doesn't make their own whiskey, they are getting their juice from MGP".

It's an industry term that clowns hear and think that it's some specialty jargon, when in fact it's just a bad carryover term from the wine side of the industry.

As a former wine rep, I apologize on behalf of all of us for introducing it to the spirits world, it was largely unintentional. We had no idea it would get latched onto by simps.

So bot, troll, whatever aside, I've had this happen to me a few times. Looking a gift horse in the mouth is so hard, but you are left with two options:

1. Fess up that you won't be smoking these, but you appreciate the thought. Bonus points if you crack them open and show them why you won't be smoking them.

2. Go into your humidor and grab something decent with a similar band size, pull the band off the "cuban" and put it on one of your own. Proceed to smoke that in front of them to show your appreciation.

Problem with option #2 is you will now get a box of these every time they come back from a Mexico trip and have to go through the performance all over again.
