There should be a special place in Hell for people that abuse animals.

Worked 32 years at a Natural History Museum as a Collections Manager for their Archaeology and Ethnology collections. Was involved in accessions, loans of artifacts, exhibits, public programming, working with volunteers, interns and work study students. I really enjoyed this job and retired from it. My education and experience consisted of volunteering, internships, part time positions and an MA in Museum Studies. Keep trying you will eventually get there.

Should be a special place in Hell for people that do this to their pupper.

Happy to help. Let me know how everything works out.

Hi this looks to me to be a genuine 1858 Remington.in decent shape. The Remington markings on the barreI are there. I can see something that may be a number under the loading lever by the latch in picture eight. The C stamp on the trigger guard is probably an inspectors marking and may indicate it was a Civil War purchase. You should look to see if there are any others. Usually there is a rectangular cartouche on the grips if it was purchased by the government for use in the war but often on a well used pistol like this they are often worn off. I have one of these and the serial number is on the barrel under the loading lever. It may be rather faint. The number on mine is not struck deeply. If a number is present you can determine when it was made. At any rate this is a nice Civil War era revolver.

Possibly from Costa Rica. If you Google Costa Rica Pre Columbian statue you can find similar examples.

Question regarding MA in History Application.

How long does it take to hear from the History Department regarding acceptance into their MA in History program? Application sent in in December 2023 with a closing date of 1/5/2024, recommendation letters received by 1/17/2024.

I thought that I did. What went wrong?

Possibly a version of a Northwest Coast Tsonokwa Mask. Google Tsonokwa Mask and you can see some similar images.

You are doing a wonderful job with that dog. He looks so much better. You are to be commended for your compassion.

Looks like a very nice boy. Goodest boys make great companions.

There also should be a discussion about what to do if they are over at a friends house and the friend starts playing with a gun they found. Very very important. Additionally, the child should be taught what to do if they find a gun while playing.

I would definitely keep it. Nice little cabinet and worth restoring.

I was a Curatorial Assistant at a Large Natural History Museum in their Anthropology Department. My job was to take care of their Ethnology collections when originally hired. Later I was promoted to Collections Manager and my role expanded to taking care of the Archaeology collections as well. This position (Curatorial Assistant) was considered to be an entry level position to work with collections. Later (after I retired) this was changed to be an Assistant Collections Manager, to be promoted to Collection Manager then to Senior Collection Manager. There was also a Collections Technician position for employees that were hired temporarily on grants to work on exhibits or special collection projects.

Seems odd to me as well. It did allow for much more access to the cord and weights. As an aside I worked in a 1920's building with large oak windows where the sash cord was a small flat chain.

I lived in a 1924 house that you had to access the sash weights from the outside of the window by removing the exterior moldings. Unfortunately previous owners had chopped up some of the casings to access the weights from inside and made quite a mess out of some of them. Found this out accidentally when removing some damaged outside window trim.

Tabby and white cat mix.

Nice example of a Zulu shotgun. Google Zulu shotgun and you can find similar examples of this type of antique gun.
