Absolutely. First I line the pockets of my project bag with scraps as they are amassed. When the stockpile becomes unmanageable, I know it's time to make something for the kids.

Very cool. I happen to have an arduino laying around, originally intended for a other projects, but I'm never gonna get around to those.

This looks doable. Thanks for sharing.

I'm certainly considering going that route. I'd be interested to see what you got.

Midi pedalboard recommendations?

I just installed Max 5. Initially, I was thinking about getting a cheap, 2 button stomp box for triggering an effect or two. However, after exploring my options within Ampiltube, I and am suddenly considering something bigger/more flexible, like the behringer fcb1010.

Does anyone have experience with similar pedalboards? Have any insight about what to look for, what to avoid, or other recommendations?

Ideally, I'd like 4 or more foot switches and an expression pedal, with midi or usb output (both is a plus).

Additionally, I may be looking at getting a midi slider array for fiddling with tone control, so that's of minor concern when it comes to pedalboard selection.

Soundtrack for a setup?DISCUSSION

I'm crossing over to the dark side. Digital interface (native instruments, komplete 6 mk2) arrived yesterday. Amp emulator (amplitube max 5) is currently downloading.

My frankenstrat has been celibate for almost a decade now and I think she needs a gentle tweaking before I plug her in.

What should I listen to while giving ol' faithful some tlc this evening?

Bridge position picks up more treble.

Imo precision pups sound better at the neck end (less treble) and have better sustained tone.

Funk bass is often jazz pups at the bridge (more treble), conveying more slap and spank.

I might consider a p/j setup with a 3way switch

Cheese and crackers (xsharp cheddar and tricuits)

With onions, olives, and jalepeños if I got paid this week.

Work though chord inversions. Bonus points for learning to read figured bass.

Practice scales going: ta - ti-ti-ta - ti-ti-... up and down across 4 octaves

Bebop is a good jumping off point for learning solo improv: stick to chord tones, use passing and neighboring notes to embellish the melody, and try your damnedest to avoid the 4 and 6 of any given chord (unless, of course, it sounds cool).

You'll likely have an easier time sanding it down. Any filler will not match the wood color perfectly, so unless you plan on painting it, filler will likely make the etching more visible. Just sand the whole edge until it's smooth, wipe off the sawdust and apply a light polyeurathane, I usually prefer wax or oil, but it looks like the desk is already sporting a poly finish.

Monsters (2010), the movie as a whole is decent. The monster reveal is fantastic.

Pocket bacon ftw! Cedar cones and loose tobacco really add some dimension to the flavor profile.

If you wrap, do it at the start of the stall, 155(f)ish. Unwrap when the stall breaks, 180(f)ish, so it can rebuild some bark. I sometimes leave it on top of the open foil to braise in its juice but this method misses out on roughly half of the potential crust, while picking up a lot of smoke flavor in the drippings.

Imo, best results come from no wrap, at 225(f) for the better part of a day. Wrapping is good for cutting hours off the cook time at the proper temp or mitigating too hot a cooking temp, but is, essentially, a cheat. Albeit, a cheat that almost every competition pitmaster relies on, but a cheat nonetheless.

Restraint can certainly be a struggle sometimes. I like to think of a crowd of white people clapping in time, how they always rapidly accelerate the tempo, and pay particular heed to that voice in the back of my head going, "NOOOOOOOO!"

I thought you started playing last week??

Keep it up with the alternate picking, especially across multiple strings. Only play it as fast as you can play it perfectly. Learn to play it right, then learn to play it fast, or you're going to keep making the same mistakes.

I avoid using the mouse as much as possible in cad. Keyboard shortcuts are where it's at.

"We need to get out of here!"

Then proceeding up the stairs.

I've never seen anything quite like that, but I think I'd rather play the full scale version with ultra-wide fretboard and license plates for pickup covers.

Take off the desk, take out the action, take out the keys (keep them in order), polish the posts, give the sides of the keys a light sanding, maybe consider replacing the felt bushings in the keys where the posts go.

Edit: you can remove and replace the keys one at a time, but doing them all at once allows you to clean out any mouse nests while you're at it.

I went out solo to find some plat mons and establish control in a fairly remote area. There were still visible divots in the centerline of the road from the last guy who dug them up; no ring but they seemed to be the right distances, so I started digging, and digging... and digging. I had ditch the shovel for a hand trowel and soon after, had to ditch the trowel, and started pulling up this weird red sand a handful at a time until I was shoulder deep in the road, pulling up loose soil.

I brushed myself off and took a closer look at the plat. Sandstone monument w/ x-cut Shit. I walk over to the next spot, gingerly excavate a half foot of sediment, and sure enough, red sandstone with x-cut. Oops.

Hopefully I can trust y'all to not report me to the survey police.

Sure, most everyone enjoys a quickie now and then.

I was more referring to the rapid response gay referrence.

Either way, I imagine, a guy should be proud the entire time, however long it may be, right up until coming, when reality and the usual intrusive thoughts resume.

I'd no intention of prescribing a recommended duration; I'll leave that to you and yours.
