Weekly One Take - Get feedback on your improv! Week 25OFFICIAL

Welcome back to Weekly One Take, the weekly improv thread with a focus on constructive feedback.

Thank you to everyone who posted takes or gave feedback last week! Great to see all the fantastic submissions and comments.

The Concept

There are two ways you can participate in this thread, and they are not mutually exclusive!

  1. Record a take of yourself improvising over the backing track provided. The idea is not to achieve perfection - record a real, live, raw and unedited solo. It can be a video or just a recording. Upload your take to YouTube or Soundcloud and share it in the comments. Tip: keep your take short and sweet. If you record a 10 minute take, think about chopping it down and submitting just the first few minutes.
  2. Give feedback on someone else's take. We're looking for supportive, constructive comments - putting yourself out there for everyone to listen to is scary, and everyone is at a different stage in their guitar journey. Critiques are welcomed, but don't just criticise - offer suggestions on how to improve, and highlight the things you did like too.

This week’s track:

Rock Groove

If you have any feedback on the concept as a whole, please let me know in the comments/DM me.

Is playing really fast easy once you get good at it?QUESTION

In 20+ years of playing guitar I've never been able to play extremely fast like Satriani, vai, etc. I have also not spent much time trying either. Once you get there is it easy like anything else or still really hard? Note that a lot of performers, guitar or otherwise, making it look easy is an essential part of the show.

advice for a dude in his late fifties picking up guitarQUESTION

Now that I have time I would like to become adequate at playing guitar.

What advice would you give to learn guitar efficiently and avoid dead ends and bad habits?

Online courses, books, YT channels. I'm not looking for shortcuts and am ready to put it in the time and work patiently.

Thanks!

Reverb seller doesn't want to refund a guitar in terrible conditionQUESTION

Hello !

I've received a Gibson Flying V 67 reissue from Reverb, but the seller have hidden that the neck was in very very bad condition, he took advantage from photo angles.

I've contacted Reverb and send them proofs that he scamed me, and now seller is accusing me of having damaging the neck on purpose to get a refund. He told me we wont refund me and wont cooperate with reverb.

What will happen if he doesn't want to refund the guitar and keep the money ?

Reverb support told me: "In the event that your seller still not cooperating with us, we have no choice but to forcefully refund your order and it may lead to a corrective action on the sellers account"

I'm not a native english speaker so I don't understand perfectly: Is Reverb is gonna refund me with their own money if this seller decide to keep the money ?

If anyone has experienced a situation like this, your advice is welcomed ! Thank you :)

PS: I you want to see the condition of the guitar , here is my previous reddit post:
