Rescued this doom machine from GC.
GEARD Standard or C Standard/Drop C tuning?
Came set up for C standard with .12-.56 strings. Brought it up to C# for some Sabbath riffage.
This is the way.

Drop that baby to F if it's a baritone scale!
Thought it was a Reverend Sensai RA at first.
Pretty clean guitar. I'm not familiar with these is there something particularly special about them?
I believe this model is heavily inspired by first act double cut guitars, popular with bands like Mastodon and High on Fire. Woodrite is a boutique company out of Canada run by Steve Reis, a legend who makes pedals and content for the doom/sludge genre. The guitars are manufactured in Indonesia.
I think Matt Pike "invented" the shape by asking Firstact to build a guitar that was "kind of like a Yamaha SG2000 but HEAVIER" lol!
Bill Kelliher from Mastodon just had his new ESP LTD signature release, looks very similar to this.
They're made especially to cater to doom metal fans who want the 70s vintage classic look without actually being another Gibson/Fender.
😍😍😍
It's the same guitar Bill Kelliher used to play, right?
How much? I’d kill to find that used at a good price.
I got it at 1100. Like new condition, no case. Couldn’t find a scratch or ding on it. Usually pretty cautious about ordering through GC but I couldn’t resist at that price, especially as they are sold out right now on DID’s page.
That's actually really beautiful
Makes me wanna crack a bottle of Montepulciano and blast some doom
Makes me want to fight Godzilla with a giant robot and some Negronis
I'm surprised that a woodrite would end up at GC, great catch!
Nice one! Reminds me of the Yamaha SG.
Looks perfect to play some black metal
Aw noice. I have an EC-1000 same body same color. I love it
I’ve been tempted to try their Switchblade. These things rip! Congrats on the find!
Who rescued who?
blood and thunder intensifies
I have a Les Paul Studio in that gray sunburst color. This would make an excellent companion.
I remember when these metal finishes came out. Saw em in a guitar center magazine, because thats how you saw stuff back then
Is it heavy? Old Gibson are heavy- how is this brand?
What’s the scale length on that bad boy? Picture makes it look long.
24.75”
I really love the idea of rescuing a guitar from a shop (especially GC). That is what I shall be describing it as from here on out

Damn this one is beautiful!
Looks nice.
There's an ESP Bill Kelliher Shiva coming out later this year (supposedly) that looks pretty much exactly like this except it has a pickguard. I might try to grab one, but $2k is a bit of a hard pill to swallow.
Love it
Strong work! Now spank her hard.

Time to play TOOL
Wish they'd offer that body shape with 24 frets and possibly a 25.5 scale. I think it's the perfect guitar otherwise

S Paul
I love this guitar but the Woodrite really needs a pickguard to tie the room together.
Play some Static-X. It will feel good. I promise.
That Woodrite makes my wood upright, alright
Weird
Yeah I'm a weird guy.
I've never fancied a Gibson SG shape but woah! It's stunning in that color! Beauty!!
Edit: It looks like the guitar is in an old b/w photo and rest of the picture is from current day. Awesome look.
