• Feature: Photo embed auto crops image
  • Reproduction Rate: 100%
  • Annoyance: Picture embed shows portrait images as landscape images, cropping out essential parts of the image.
  • Discord Version Info: ptb 305128 (af92a5c)
  • Device/System Info (Device Type, OS Version): Windows 10 64-bit
  • Description: Pasting the link of an image that's in portrait mode, creates an embed in landscape mode. Embed seems to have cropped the image, and original image cannot be seen anymore.

  • Steps to Reproduce:
  • Right click on a portrait image and click Copy Link
  • Paste link in some other channel
  • Expected Result: Seeing the same image as in the channel you copied the link from
  • Actual Result: Embed shows picture in landscape mode, having the top and bottom cropped out. Original full picture cannot be seen anymore.

Been like this for months now, please fix it.

Would you sell some of the green ones?

I often share pics across multiple servers, or sometimes share pics from one DM to another. For that I always use the Copy Link button and pasting the link into another chat. Since some update 1 or 2 months ago every single picture I post using this method automatically gets cropped by Discord, and even opening it does not reveal the full size image. Is there any way to disable this?

Awesome. Hard to find the code red one they usually sell for more

Thanks so much for your advice! I know it's been a while but I think I finally found a good deal, right now I have some extension tubes as well as an 18mm Canon macro lens on its way. Will see how it goes :)

I had a water bottle labeled as "Book". Caused a week delay in customs but eventually made it through

Either a misprint or they're doing the same thing they did in Europe. In Europe they used to be the darker green but then they changed to the lighter green bottles because lighter green plastic is easier to recycle.

Funko pop displays fit 16oz cans perfectly. You can get them at Gamestop https://www.gamestop.ca/Toys-Collectibles/Games/769766

Looking for lens recommendations product photography

Hi, I sell beverages online and I had been taking pictures of my products using my smartphone. I recently picked up a Canon 2000D and a portable photo studio to take it to the next level and get some good quality shots. I've been having some issues mainly with focussing on the product, I suspect the lens isn't really suitable for what I want to do so I'm looking for some recommendations.

The lens that came with the camera is a Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8. First of all I have to put the camera 1 meter away from the product which isn't ideal, it looks like the lens is 'zoomed in' by default.

The second issue is that it's really hard to get the focus right, auto focus doesn't do a great job so I try to do it manually, which sometimes takes up to 10 minutes getting the focus right by trying to turn the focus ring constantly half a millimeter at a time. Turn it just half a millimeter too far and it's blurry again.

Lastly, once I get the focus right I still end up with parts of the product slightly out of focus. You can see an example here (I mostly shoot cans) https://imgur.com/5LFVnp8 . You can see the focus looks great on the bottom of the can, but the top part is still slightly blurred out. Other times it's the opposite and the top part is clear while the bottom is not. What I want is to bring the entire can into focus.

Any advice or recommendations are appreciated! Thanks
