Acropolis museum reduced ticket

We will be in Athens in mid-July & thinking of doing the museum right after the acropolis tour at 8AM. The website says that reduced ticket is available only at the ticket window. Anyone know if there is a separate line for this or do we need to stand in the regular ticket line? I’m assuming the wait time for regular line is long?

HVAC recommendation

I need to replace my AC unit & looking for recommendation between these 2.

Warranty on Daikin seems better but is it worth 50% more? I’ve never heard of RUUD but sales rep says it’s an ok brand. Anyone has experience with these?

Out of curiosity, did you cancel on the website or spoke with a live person to cancel? Did it show you refund amount?

Was the response from their refund site or DM? In my case, when i inquired through the refund site, they did explain what my partial refund was for. The twitter account gave me the same answer initially about the refund according to the fare rules but i kept explaining my case before they decided to issue full refund. I would suggest not giving up & keep pursuing your case.

That’s strange. So if it was outside the 24-hour rule, what was the 30€ refund for? Did you send the screenshots with the timestamps?

I’ve flown FlyTap 5 times since 2019 & quite like it. Last summer i cancelled PAR-EWR within 24 hours & got full refund without any issues. Not sure what’s changed.

Yes, it did get resolved. I filed a complaint with DOT. Same day i DMed their twitter account & explained my situation. After a few back & forth messages, they were able to resolve my issue. It took 2 weeks to receive the rest of the refund. Their social media account team was very responsive. Haven’t heard anything from DOT complaint so far though.

The only place we had to pay was in a McDonald’s in Pisa. Even when we were not a customer, they still let us use bathrooms in restaurants.

We were in Rome last summer during the hottest week of the year unfortunately (mid July, 90+F). We would start early, finish up by lunch & go back to the apartment for rest/ nap, then start again around 4-5PM. Good thing is that it stays bright until 8-9PM. It was hot but there were plenty of shades to walk & gelato on every corner. We’re from NE Florida & still felt the heat.

I’m heading to Barcelona in July. What is wrong with a flamenco show there? I’ve never seen one.

It’s hard to believe that flights booked from EU to US do not have to comply with 24 hour rule, as they stated. If true, that’s shocking.

This is even more frustrating because i confirmed with the FlyTap customer service person multiple times that my entire booking will be refunded. I don’t have any proof of course.

I wrote to them this AM if they can make an exemption in my case. We’ll see. If not, i’ll have to go the DOT route. Thanks again!

Tap Portugal issue

Booked 3 BCN-EWR w/ LIS layover from Tap Portugal website. Changed my mind the next morning & called to cancel. The agent informed me that the seats won’t be refunded but it will be available as a credit for 1 year. Plus there will be a $40 cancellation fee. Told the agent to go ahead with the cancellation. Booked BCN-IAD.

Received the refund today…$202, which is about $1500 short! Submitted a complaint online, thinking it was a mistake. This is the response i received “Please allow us to inform you that, the point of issuance of your ticket was Madrid, therefore US 24-hour refund policy does not apply in this case as the ticket was not booked in the US or CA market. Hence, the refund was issued as per fare rules.”

Obviously, this is beyond infuriating. I guess Google flights took me to Madrid site? & fare rules are different for European vs other sites?

Any suggestion on the course of action for getting my refund? Or is this an expensive lesson?

Agreed. You have to clear immigration when you exit the International part. Any international airport anywhere.
