Do you not have an owners manual?

I'm not sure of the '22 but mine has a wheel on the centre console that allows me to switch between 2WD, AWD and locked in 4WD.

The 4WD feature automatically turns off at speeds over 30kph (I think it's 30) So I can leave it in 2WD or All Wheel Drive but not 4WD. AWD is never 4WD, even tho most interchange the two.

If you have a number of terrain settings I have no familiarity with them.

YouTube, Dial2Fast has a channel that shows a lot of maintenance things on the Pathfinder.

Do you know what year your vehicle is? Some have standard auto trans, some have CVT's. Big difference in how you treat them both.

It sure doesn't look like any estuary I've ever seen. It. so far, looks unnaturally natural, if I'm being clear.

Deadfall trees don't all lie in formation in nature, rocks don't sit on top, they are buried to one extent or another.

I support and have donated but I sure hope they get it closer to natural by the end.

Yes, you have already come past the hard part, that you need not have a say once the gift is given. Surely you can guide her, she even may ask for guidance but she also could probably use a small treat.

I'd probably be inclined to give her the money along with a gift certificate to a local spa for the works.

Live in what you can afford and what makes you happy. A home should not be viewed as an investment.

Did you not get the owners manual with the vehicle?

If so, follow the manual, not the dealership's, schedule. If not, get a manual.

Picking up a used vehicle without a file folder of all maintenance receipts means you just have to start: look at all fluids both colour and level. Look at all belts and hoses for signs of wear. Etc.

Lots of companies require drivers to run their own equipment. Couriers jump to mind. I did that job while transitioning from my adult career to retirement. Got paid a flat day rate, a vehicle use rate and a picked up piece rate and a delivered piece rate...made a decent living but the company didn't have to maintain fleets, do oil changes, replace tires etc.

Carry cash for the tip(s) and use the cc for only the store/restaurant purchase. Keep the receipt(s).

Clearly x out the tip line on paper bills that ask for signature, make certain you write the total onto the total line always.

On paperless transactions make certain you see the transaction close, do not be texting or otherwise involved.

Closer to the Valley crab can be found at The Old Farm Market in Courtenay at the Fanny Bay Oyster's seafood shop in that store..

Or, drive out to the original Fanny Bay seafood shop at the Buckley Bay ferry terminal and pick up a pie from Just Like Mom's sort of Union Bay/Fanny Bay adjacent.

Be aware that spiders really like opening like that. Solution is to put a spider guard over the hole and/or to brush the thing out periodically.

Just Google up "bbq spider guards"

Your boss isn't in the financial advice business is he?

I sure hope not, at any rate.

No topper, it is a legit mattress.

Thing is if one section gets worn, soft, lumpy, whatever, you don't have to replace the mattress, just unzip that section and stuff in a new foam block that they make up for you.

That fabric they cover the foam with is solid, we are at least 9 years on and it shows zero wear and we have used our tear a lot, not just weekend trips to the lake, we've been up into the Arctic, Yukon, Northwest Territories, all over northern BC, across Canada and back for three months. Plus those trips to the lakes.

totally pleased, 100% recommend.

We bought a tri-fold mattress from The Foam Shop which seems to be a BC chain.

One of their sizes fits into our 5x8 perfectly length wise and with an inch shy on each side.

Not terribly heavy, you maybe could have them courier it out to you?

Well biting the bullet included not only going for an Ecoflow but doing it in Canadian dollars too.

I'm using it in a 5x8 kit built traditional teardrop. I bought the Ecoflow products because a YouTube influencer that I have followed, corresponded with and met (once, I'm not a stalker) is sponsored by Ecoflow as in they both give him product and cash finance the odd video episode and he swears by them. I now do so as well.

Plugged in and used year round the US Gov Energy Guide says it will use 142kWh, so it just sips power.

I bit the bullet last year and picked up an Ecoflow Glacier. It can be a fridge/freezer, a freezer/fridge, all freezer, or all fridge and the cherry on top is it has an ice maker built in.

It has an eco mode but it does use a bit more juice while you make ice. Trickle charges from a single panel (really just slows down the battery discharge) has built in low battery protection and hold temp overnight when unplugged.

I'm 9/10 on it. I did the alternator to dc/dc charger thing, the one that fools your battery pack that the charge is coming from solar so it charges fast, that sure helped.

At one point in my life I had 5 back yard smoking units.

I'm down to three now...a hand built, step in sized cedar planked old school smoke house, a vertical propane converted from chips to pellets and a 12V portable pellet smoker.

Use the smoke house every fall for weeks as the "Group" processes the spoils of the ocean and land into bacon, sausage, smoked fish, pulled pork, whatever...you can pack a lot into a step in.

Hardly use the vertical at all unless I'm having a whack of folks over for specifically smoked food.

Use the 12V pellet a lot as there are only the two of us left in the house now. It even does enough ribs when adult sons drop by with current flavour of girlfriend for Mom's inspection.

Get a pellet and take the time to learn how it works and you will find you are using it a lot.

May or may not be good advice in the US but here in Canada and specifically in my Province, someone in your position would have far better luck going through a Credit Union than a bank.

Yup. Once you go to an actual finishing sauce you will not go back. I don't use the up/down vote thing but some delicate flower downvoted you! So I ding you up one.

Seems most of the relies are assuming BBQ. Shame, everyone should at least try a finishing sauce.

Google up Louisiana pulled pork finishing sauce. I use one all the time, then at the table optional red, thick Que sauce is available.

The newish Dawn Power Wash bottle does wonders . Just did the spring clean on my Weber grill (lives under a cover but...) and that involved a total break down of all the grease trays, pans, grates, flavour bars and etc. Plus the outside stainless shelves and painted metal pedestal. Insdie was hand scrapes with a narrow putty knife then bristle scrubbed with a stainless toothbrush sized brush. I use a small drill bit, siliconed into a Marret electrical nut to push/pull each and every hole in the burners. Everything Shop Vac-ed Good to go.

LOL. sorry, tl:dr: Dawn Power Wash

When I brought mine from Oregon into BC I do not recall them asking for a title.

doesn't mean they didn't, I'm just not remembering it. They did ask me for copies of how I paid for it, bank statements, drafts purchased, etc.

I had a "binder" of insurance on it that got me home. Be aware that they will collect the GST at your border crossing, when I licensed it in BC they collected provincial sales taxes. The RIV inspection was done in minutes at Canadian Tire.

(if your province doesn't require an eyes on the VIN inspection wherever it is you license your vehicles I'd tale a week off, load your vehicle up with camping gear, drive down with plates, transfer all that into the Teardrop, find some dirty, dusty roads to drive down, get some superficial wear on the trailer and drive home.

Purpose of your visit? Recreational. Welcome to the USA

A few days later:

Purpose of your visit? recreational. Anything to declare? No. Welcome home.)

Shout out to a fellow Dempster explorer. Did you go all in to Tuk or just to the Arctic Circle?

We've done it three times, I'm under orders to not return ever again from my navigator. Something magical about the terrain, the people, the air...
