I think it’s because a lot of the fake Datejusts are Datejust II. That combined with the strange proportions compared to a Datejust 41 it does look off. Same with Day-Date II.

My wife bought me a used 90's 16234 silver dial datejust for $2200 back in 2016 when we got married (didn't have much money back then) I absolutely love this watch. It's nice that it's worth 3x more now, but that doesn't matter bc it's gonna get passed down to my kids or grandkids. Now, what did YOU get her for a wedding gift? 😄

You’ve come to a safe place to show off and don’t feel guilty for doing so. Lovely watch which works well pairing an oyster with a fluted dial. I normally prefer it by on jubilee but perhaps the black dial is the secret ingredient here. like you I tend to buy watches to signify a life event and as Rolex is for life it will be a constant reminder. The watch is fine, people should account for how sordid phone cameras are distorting everything and then once it’s uploaded it becomes 720p further adding to the inaccuracy. The watch is absolutely correct in all the right spots would be nice if people studied more before they posted.
