SiriusXM radio is the most annoying thing ever. Thinking I got a letter about my car but got this instead.Leave me alone! Borderline harassment, they used to call me every day and not take no for an answer
I didnt even sign up with them lol. It came with my car
I bought a used 13 year old truck in 2019, from a small independent dealer, and I immediately started getting mail from SiriusXm trying to get me to sign up. So they somehow get notified when compatible vehicles get sold or get registered to new owners. I never have signed up and never will.
Buy it from a dealership? They notify them/activate it if the car has it.
That does make sense. I guess I was thinking some small random used dealers wouldn't worry about the extra steps, but the one I bought from did.
I wonder if they "participate" in a "program" and see some sort of financial or other reward if a car they've submitted information about subscribes
I had a billing dispute with them once. As part of our agreement they were going to take me completely off their mailing lists.
This worked for about a year, then I bought a new car and it all started over again. I hate it.
You did though, you just didn't realize. Sirius being included =/= Sirius being free. You paid for a car & you paid for Sirius, they're just lumped together in a way that makes it basically impossible to avoid and you technically become a customer of them. I'm sure if you read the nitty gritty fine print it gave them permission to share your info with Sirius, it's a scummy practice and you're technically allowed to opt out, but the dealership will never tell you that.
In summary, fuck Sirius
Same. Never used it, and they still call me every month. I told them I don't use it because I have the internet.
Don’t ever go near them. They’ve harassed me for 5 years after paying for a year.
First letter: “Offer about your vehicle”
Second letter: “Urgent information about your vehicle!”
Third letter: “You might die if you don’t open this immediately!”
That's the truth! They are terrible! I will never pay for their service again!
I get these and never paid for the service. Came with the car... which we got secondhand. Then we moved. They still found us.
They don't call me, because they've never had a phone number, but I'd just block the number, OR answer to waste their time.
They are persistent, I will give that to them!
They got sued a few years back for harassing people and making it impossible to cancel and price issues. Apparently fairly recently again too.

I cancelled with them a few years ago and it was such a hassle. They had an option on their website to cancel online, but it was "down for maintenance" for a month. I doubt it ever worked. Talking to a person on the phone took an hour of "negotiating". Their offers got absurdly cheap and I had to tell them that I'd still want to cancel even if they were paying me every month.
I canceled and they didn’t actually. I got a new card number, and they started threatening to send me to collections 😭
They're struggling. Spotify and unlimited data plans are leading to their demise.
My gf was paying full price monthly for them (like $30+/mo I think)
One call with me asking / threatening to cancel and they gave her a whole year for like $60 lol
Haven’t had Sirius for at least four years, I still get these. They are persistent.
I write "return to sender - rejected" and drop things like this back in the mailbox. It's actually working, just takes about 6 months to see a difference.
Just try canceling them, go ahead try it. I never even signed up for it, yet I have a SiriusXM subscription in my car somehow. The SiriusXM part of my radio is broken, but I apparently have a subscription just because I took my car in for service once and they gave it to me.
I had a subscription years ago, they were so desperate for me not to cancel they sent me an entire fucking radio and 12 months of free service. They're insane.
I told them already to put me on the do not call list and that was a year ago. Here we are they're back again
Yeah... Sirius XM is quite the doozy... But it is doable... I say wiggle your way out of that scam industry... The Secret: Search up Reddit posts on Legal Advice
They call me at least a dozen times a week, and I get their mailers at least twice a week. I don't want their service either. If I want something, I'll go find the info myself. I hate junk mail.
Write “Refused Return to Sender” on it and drop it back in the mail. It takes a bit but it does help.
I bought a used car that happened to be equipped with the tech for SiriusXM (but not subscription, obviously) and I'm assuming the dealership forwarded on to them that I had bought that car, because that's when I started getting these. I don't think they ever had my phone number, per others complaining of constant phone calls, so I guess I'm "lucky" that way. It probably lasted a couple years of me ignoring them before they seemingly gave up.
I have heard it is really annoying process to cancel if you have resubscribed.
Same, I’m still getting letters from them three months AFTER my free trial expired.
I'm still getting emails for our 2015 Outlander Sport that we sold 6 months ago.
Pissed me off when the dealership gave them my email and info about the vehicle. Emailed me about a free trial. I called them to deactivate it. It was still on a week later
Ugh, same!!! My car came with a trial that I haven't used. The first time they called I was wrestling my pissed off toddler into his car seat IN THE RAIN. I hung up on them. The week after that, I was so irritated by the whole thing that I spent too much time with an online agent confirming repeatedly that I would not be charged/billed after my trial expired and I was very clear that I DID NOT WANT THIS TRIAL...
They called me again like a week and a half later and I had to use every ounce of human decency I had left not to lose my super-hormonal pregnant mind on the person who called. I requested to be put on their "Do not call" list and it's been quiet for a couple of weeks now.
Bastards.
But it's free for 3 months! Free!
I bought 2 lifetime subscriptions in 2005 and im still enjoying commercial free radio.
I told them I privately sold the car and they stopped calling and no mailers. Still have the car tho. Easiest way to get rid of them
Start sending them spam mail in return
I bought a used 2014 cheverolet 3 months ago that came with a 3 month free trial already installed and that trial just ended. will i start getting harassed now? lol i didnt ask for this
Depends on whether the place you bought it from gave your details out or not. If you bought it directly from a guy then probably not
It would seem I have the only experience with Sirius that isn't a a nightmare.
Bought a used car last October from a used car lot. Dealer never said a word about satellite radio, but about 2 weeks later I was playing around with the stereo and lo and behold I had SiriusXM.
It shut off in early January and I have never received a phone call nor an unsolicited letter from them. I assume the previous owner of the car is getting nonstop harassment though
I’m a very non-confrontational person. The only time I’ve ever yelled at someone on the phone was to SiriusXM.
Same! Well I didn't quite yell but I got very stern and blunt. I was like "TAKE me off the lost. Please do not call me again"
Haha that’s great! For me I just yelled, “stop calling me! Stop calling me!” It actually worked though.
Yeah. I hate that sales tactic. They are so fucking annoying. I wish they would forget that I exist. It's just absurd at this point
I got Sirius with my carmax car. When it came time for the subscription to run out a lady called me and got super aggressive when I continually declined, and hung up. Got a call from another guy an hour later and he kept reducing the subscription amount until it was something like $2 for the next three months, to which I told him, if it’s a single penny due at any time ever I would like to cancel. I know these companies are kept afloat by forgotten and surreptitiously rising subscriptions. He got shitty with me too. Avoid Sirius. There’s no reason to ever give them money.
I went on their website and complained to the chat. They removed my entire household and we haven’t gotten anything in the mail since.
it’s been a pointless feature ever since XM was absorbed by Sirius. XM sounded better and had far superior content. Sirius was the running loser for jamming too many channels of Stern into their lineup meaning less bandwidth for quality audio. Still sounds shitty to this day.
The nice part about that offer, if I recall correctly, is that it is a totally free 3 month trial... you don't even need to enter payment info, the last time I looked at it.
No. They're annoying and I want them to leave me alone. I dont use Siriusxm and have no reason to. I have Spotify
The fact that it would encourage them to keep sending this shit would be enough for me to say no thank you lol... these guys are awful.
Right?
So glad my car doesn't even support SiriusXM!
I try my best to be quite polite in my day to day, but after several months of no stop calling I ended up getting very rude about the matter to put an end to it. Feels bad it had to come to that; feels good to tell those idiots off. The sad part about this is I never even activated their product, and I was only signed up because it came free with the car.
